#101 1942 wla 56ci stroker mock-up motor 4.625 45 wl flathead harley race hotrod by tatro machine
See the custom build building of a 45 WL stroker motor as being machined and manufactured. This is all custom and being designed as we go.
my 1942 WLA burnout bike motor was about the same size but was made from mostly stock parts back in the early 80's. This is how I am going to do the build with new ideas from my 20 years of vintage landspeed racing experience.
This stroker motor will have allot more power then my old motor and allot more reliability.
Lets get those tires warmed up!

Priceless that's why you're the main man
One of the last true wizards working on old harley engines. I was one of the lucky few to have work done to my bike.
My favorite RUclips channel by far!! Tatro knows his sh*t!! Alan rocks on the camera and he always ask the right questions!! Tatro and Alan makes a great team for these videos!! Keep'em coming!!
I can't even imagine how many hours it took with measuring instruments, parts catalogs and a torn down engine to sort all of that out. Seems easy after you've done the work... like oh ya, easy.
All respects intended, bet your dad was a legend down that way.
Thanks Tatro for another great instructional video , and Alan my favorite cameraman for commenting and asking great questions for the less knowledgeable but eager to learn viewers such as myself, thanks guys
It's great Alan asking questions but you gotta answer him man!
Wow, you're touchy man, or should I call you "Wolfdog"?
Lol, truce. Have a good one buddy
I'm speechless, all the knowledge in 35 min.
An Allan, thumbs up
My God , a day learning from Master Tatro would be Disney land for us gear heads .... He doesn't cut corners ... your a lucky man Camera man Alan ( and good work recording videos )
Workings of the mad scientist...awesome
no, that would be the motor on the other side of the work bench. 4-cam 120ci vintage panhead motor.

I like this guy as your camera man you should hire him
Really enjoyed this video thanks guys...Alan, keep on asking Questions. Tatro will answer eventually...lol
As another shop owner a clean bench is a good thing, but a smaller space where you know where it all is and can make it happen with other open jobs going, you master all your space.
that is gone by one of the best series so far. So much info in a short amount of time.
Seriously wanna be a hang out too but would have to move to another continent for that ;(
Hey Keenan, don't know if you remember me, but I used to race with you out at El Mirage. I'm the guy that raced the bike that had the modified XL turned it into an XR 1000. You gave me so good pointers . I see you haven't changed. Your more into it that ever. One of these days I'll have to make it down there to your shop. At the time you asked me to come there, but I never did. BTW I have a WLA 45, That's how I seen you on here. I enjoy watching your vids. Keep um coming.
"Boy there's a lot to this, huh?" Yeah you have to be a freakin genius to do it at this level.
keep learning and pay attention. it will come to you if you want it.

Tatro Machine milling machine is more important it's how you make your money
Thx
Do you have a video on how to deal with a wl inlet pipe and replacing nuts bushings along with changing the nipple and that damn rivet ?
I have a set of Ross flat top , coated pistons , no valve reliefs , .050 over , measure 3.30 , .750 wrist pins , Called them with job card number , said they are for H.D. Would you have any idea what they are for ? Thanx
Hey Tatro. I picked up a 41 G Motor. It has iron heads. Have an opinion on iron heads? I never see them in your videos. What's a good stroke length for the street? Not a race bike. Going to be mated to a 6 speed. Any off the shelf, forged, stroker pistons out there you like? Or just the custom stuff from Arias? How did your roller thrust bearing experiment work out? Good for the street? Thanks.. Love your channel! Love the shirts! You're the only one doing anything with the old 45" Valuable info, indeed!
iron heads run very hot, use alum. very little is made for the 45 motors so you have to make what you want in go fast parts. i have done a few of the roller thrust bearings over the years in big twins and this 45. for now, no one has brought one back so i guess they are still out there hauling butt.
tatro
...which linkert were you using with that 4-bolt manifold? Thx
which ever one you want to use. all 4-bolt linkerts can have the big venturi installed as will as all the updates and mods to make them run good.
tatro
hello
is it possible to buy these pistons from you, your connecting rods are longer?
no, the pistons were custom made for this motor. the rods are the stock length, the stroke was longer.
tatro
Does Allan always wear the same shirt?
Be calling you soon .Need parts for 2 ge motors
Whatever you do, don't answer any of his questions.
Accidentally modified, hmmm?
I WOULD FUCKIN' PROTEST IF YOU BEAT MY RIKUO BANZAI MOTOR ON THE FLAT TRACK.
