A2 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ makes a GLORIOUS arrival into York Station - 13/07/2024

- Today, the Locomotive Services Group ran a very special private charter service from London Kings Cross to York, to celebrate the return of LNER A2 Class 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ to the mainline, after being out of action for over 20 years. It was an absolutely fantastic sight to see I must say. It was great to see all the people who came out to celebrate the return of this beautiful machine. Also seen is 57311 tailing on the rear.

Excellent views of Blue Peter. Saw you all on the platform from the live Rail Cam, then you all disappeared up the platform. It was quite a spectacular treat seeing the loco arrive,from the Rail Cam..

What is the reason for the diesel attached to the back?
Insurance
@@CDMTransport Incase it breaks down or to help with steep inclines?
Also reversing... much easier with a loco at the back!
Had to reverse into King's Cross as it is a terminus.
