Always frustrating that most of the freight coming down from the Euro port bypasses the station. Normanton is better for that I've found.

Saw Blue Peter through Acton Bridge last night in the hail - magnificent sight/sound - but what fuel are they using at LSL? It doesn't smell like normal coal!

So pleased to see Blue Peter back after so long in the doldrums. Let's hope one day No9 re-appears. Must be time for a Tornado, Blue Peter, Flying Scotsman, and Sir Nigel Gresley based event. Had heard Bittern was next after Blue Peter.

An illuminating image at about 1:30 of the scratch marks probably from vegetation along the side of the 47. Does support the current view that heads out of the window is inadvisable. Good footage of Bluepee great to see it back at last. .

How magnificent are these English steam locomotives and the carriages that follow them in the colours of the old companies !!!!! In their day, they were always remarkably well maintained by the driving crews and it was a real dream to see them go by.... which is not at all the case with today's trains which are as dreadful as car production... Through these magnificent machines, I see life, the free expression of the chief mechanical engineers of the UK companies, their creative art, their science in designing these locomotives. People were all the prouder to show off their companies' locomotives and passenger carriages, as there was a fierce struggle between them to leave England and reach Scotland. In France, there was no such quest for beauty and elegance, and when we watch these videos, we can say that these marvellous great English toys will be immortal forever.
