👍 Great ideas for a modular arrangement.
As soon as you are pleased with side pockets for the Nighthawk rucksack I will purchase 3 from you.
Hopefully they will be sized to hold a Pathfinder canteen & cup set not just cylindrical bottles.
Just a suggestion, but probably not economically practical, the pocket for the face of the pack should approximate the width of the pack instead of the depth. Similar to what was on the old Jon Pack.

I like it. I am an Alice pack fan from way back. I served in light infantry in the early 90’s and they are good packs. Still got one. Your one is a good take on the Alice. Perfect for hunting and camping when you have to negotiate thick bush 🇺🇸 🇳🇿

Awesome idea with the frame! Glad I got a dozen frames with straps for the Alice packs I have to give away to folks and kids starting out. Now I will use one to set up for the Nighthawk. I nice weekend project. It is so evident you have given so much thought into the design of all your gear with multi-functionality of each one. Thank you!

Good evening Blackie- I have been following your Blackbird design and I really like it. You have brought up some good points and possible upgrades. I have a couple ideas that Im going to send via email. Thanks for the update and be safe out there-

The sustainment pouches to attach to the webbing loops. Would be niece if they could hold a metal bottle, cup and stove or a Nalgene Silo bottle. Or even a canteen, cup and stove.

Oh I was thinking your last vid - An aluminum toggle that is also used as pack clasp or something else. Just it has more than 1 use to justify pack space.

Thank you for the update Blackie. I think you are going in the right direction. I really like the idea of a modular system that incorporates flexibility. Too many packs require the user to adapt to the pack rather than allowing the pack to adapt to the user.

Hey Blackie, i have and love German backpacks as well and i bought my wife one.The ones we have
are flecton cammo and 80 liters with the two side pouches that zip off and can be used alone or zipped together to make a small 20 liter backpack as each has straps on the back of them.
I might buy a few of yours once you get the additions finished as we will want everything that can be added to them We also hope to see you at the Oct. event of yours in southern Ohio as we live in northeastern Ohio.

I remember you mentioning or even showing how you could use an Alice frame with the Nighthawk. If the timing with releases and finances can synchronize, I'll definitely import one with a Blackbird haversack.... now that you mention extra pouches, I'm curious about the whole package. External pockets are so great for quick-access stuff, like rain poncho, tarp, first aid and mosquito stuff 😁
Edit: I forgot to mention this system is really well thought out, I have a hard time finding anything half as good, especially in the mid-size capacities (can't even find a medium Alice pack in Canada)

I think that is very well thought out. I like the modular thinking that has gone with this pack. The way you explained it, I can see where you are going with this train of thought on this pack. Very nice video.

Have you tried a Market Wallet under the pack lid to carry more for longer trips? Then secure the wallet with the side loops.
Then the market wallet is good for going out on foraging missions and you can take stuff in and out while resting in it's traditional method on the shoulder.

My problem has always been I have a super long torso. My height comes all from my spine. I have the inseam of a 5'4 Asian, but am 6ft. I have to get Xtra long shirts and it's hard to find a frame that fits my spine.
