Hi Beth! You may have to make some bobbin case tension adjustments. Which machine are you using? Each machine is different, but the ones that we have used Magna-Glides on they did require a lot of tension adjust to work:)
Susan, It's Beth Daly!! Did you have tension issues??? Doing the initial tension test in palm of hand, I cannot get the thread to pull regardless!! Backlash spring out; tried different bobbins.........tried new bobbin case........no help. I;m not having any success with these even loosening the screw quite a bit!!!
I really like the bobbins, and had fewer tension issues when I used them, but, they are more expensive than winding my own, and sadly, cost is sometimes an issue.
10 bobbins per container. Love the container they come in. Can you use a Towa gauge with pre-wounds? Or is it just for checking the gauge of bobbins you wind yourself?
I use these and have a dedicated bobbin case with backlash spring removed. What I am finding annoying is the number of bobbins that have too strong a magnet in them, not allowing the thread to pull, no matter how loose the screw is. I can still hold thread and bobbin lifts off my hand. To "fix", I made a "washer" out of paper to help the magnet not be so strong....but that is not ideal. Any suggestions to fix?
I had the same issue...even one with the magnet missing. For too strong, I use the thin white plastic washers to slightly move the bobbin away from the strong hold.
@@LindasElectricQuilters I had the same problem!!! Way too much tension to get the bobbin to spin at all!!! Tried several different ones all with same issues; had removed the backlash spring. Tried them in another bobbin case with the spring and no help either.........I'm not sure I like these at all. Have no issues with Glide bobbins that I wind myself..........
Ah shucks, it's always the way, you try and get god mics set up and the audio goes to pot. I am not complaining or gloating, I know how infuriating and difficult it is pulling it all together and coming out with a polished product. Just a tip for you, I know no one likes unsolicited advice, but I will humbly offer it up in the hope it helps somehow. I realise that you might be going for the face mic to cut down on machine noise when you are demonstrating them, but if you would be surprised how well lapel (or lavalier) microphone works. And you don't have to go mad on wireless either, just use your mobile phones, or a cheap zoom recorder, and simply clap to sync. Oh, I just remembered that it looked like you were doing a live stream rather than record then edit. Anyway, I just wanted to say pass on that they are the best mics to use for close vocal. Damn, just realised all the guff I have written. Anyway, thank you for your demonstration of the Magna-Glide, that's what I came here for. To see if it would be something that could work for me. I am doing my best to get the thread transport to be as silky smooth as it can be. I think people would be VERY surprised the difference smooth, and consistent thread tension and transport can make. Thank's for putting the time and effort into your video!
Excellent video!
Thank you so much for the video!! I had no idea what I needed to do with the bobbin case!! :)
the tension seems much greater with these than regular bobbins.....do you have to adjust a lot????

Great question! We will reach out to Filtec and see if they have any suggestions.

When you put them in the
tension gauge what should it read?
When we use the Magna-Glide Bobbins our Towa tension gauge reads between 190-210.
I need bobbin thread for embroidery work. Are they different?
Love Glide thread. 10 per container
There are ten in each container. I've used them and thery're great.
Can you use the bobbins in the Bernina long arm?
You will want to check with Bernina to see if it is okay. You should be, but double check with your dealer.
