I ordered the Magna Glide bobbins for my TL2010 but didn't realize I should take the spring out (or get extra bobbin case) so thank you for this very informative tutorial!     Innovation! I like there is no case for the TL machines. I think I have to try it. Although winding my own on the TL18 hasn't been a problem. JukiJunkies does excellent instructional videos like this one. Thanks David! I learned almost everything about my TL from your videos. I will definitely buy threads and accessories here!

    I love the magna glide bobbins! I wish you carried all the colors. I had to buy pink from another retailer. I have never taken the spring out, and so far I've never had a problem. Please start carrying pink magna glide bobbins!

    Thank you so very much for making this video. I purchased the L Magna Glide bobbin to use on my DX2000, but quickly learned I ordered the wrong type of pre-wound bobbin. Luckily I have a TL-18 to use them on 😅. Video saved!

    I use my TL2010 on my Cutie frame and discovering the prewound bobbin was best thing ever. So easy to change my bobbin and no worry about tension. Game changer.

    I have these for my dx7 and I AM AMAZED AT HOW MUCH YOU CAN DO WITH ONLY 1 BOBBIN!!!! AT C'MAS I WAS MAKING BLANKETS AND HAD THE SAME BOBBIN IN FROM SEWING 2 QUILTS AND STILL FINISHED ALL 4 BLANKETS AND HAD ENOUGH TO STORE FOR A SMALL PROJECT!! HOLY MOLY I KEPT CHECKING IT AND TELLING MY HUSBAND, FINALLY HE JUST STARTED YELLING HOW WONDERFUL THEY WERE TO BEAT ME AND MAKE ME LAUGH 😂 😂 💙

      I have a ton of that thread as well, but it is only two ply and if you look at it under a magnifying glass, you’ll see that it has a lot more fibers sticking out than the masterpiece cotton for example
      I forget the name of the fil-tec cotton thread

      Fil-Tec has Cairo 50 weight cotton that I like just as well, if not better, than my Aurifil. It doesn't curl up as much as Aurifil.

    I was a Superior Cotton thread snob until I experimented with magna glide for the first time on Juki TL2200QVP. Game changer 💝 Now I’m thinking it’s time to try these on Juki TL2010Q.

    I know you sell other brands of machines, so am curious as to whether the clear bobbins fit with Janome machines. I also the TL18 that I am just learning to use. Your videos have helped this "Golden Years" girl so much already! 😊😊

      Yes they will fit Janome machines as well :) computerized take the clear glide and mechanical take the Magna glide :)

      Hi! I was told the same thing but found out from J Junkies that that was not the case. I now use prewound for all FMQ.

    I agree, I ordered the pre-wound bobbins but didn’t realize i needed to remove the spring or how to do it. I am wondering when i use Tex 45 thread can i use the pre-wound Glide bobbins? I was always instructed I had to use the same thread top and bottom. I am sewing bags and wanted the strongest thread i had available. Please Let Me Know Patty

    I've been using the prewound bobbins in my TL QVP18 and love them. I have not taken the spring out of the bobbin case because I didn't know I should. I've had absolutely no problem doing that. Can I leave it in or will I be sorry?

    Can the clear glide bobbins be used on my mechanical juki?

      If they are size L bobbins, they technically would work but it is not recommended to mix plastic bobbins when you have a metal bobbin case.

    David, did I understand you right to say you can use the Glide 60wt bobbins with a Glide 40wt top thread? I’ve always pieced with cotton on my Janome & quilted or applied binding with Glide 40wt on my Juki 2010q. Just wondering if I could make the change to piece with my Glide supply too. I understand which bobbin goes to which machine. Thanks for all my recent orders!

    Thank you sewww much for all the info. I recently started using the Magna glide pre-wounds on my Miyabi 350. I bought an extra bobbin so I could leave the spring out. You mention to be sure the spring is facing up when putting it back in the bobbin. I looked at my spring, and I'm not sure I can tell a difference between the two sides. Would you please explain what to look for? Also, do the little 'spring fingers' lay completely flat in the case, or stand out a little? Wondering if I bent mine.... Hope that makes sense... Thank you!

    One thing that I believe David forgot to mention is, if you are using these bobbins that last longer you have to readjust your oiling schedule

      Great question: The computerized bobbins are reusable and you can save the cores and send them back to Filtec to recycle them :)
