I’m something of a sceptic to new psalters because I think we have too many…but this one is worth it. My wife and I started using this psalter and wow. The psalms hit differently from this one. The translation has a way of just cutting through. I’ve finally been convinced to put away my HTM. Fr Peter and Fr Michael have done amazing work here!
Great review of this beautiful psalter. I can't hardly wait to purchase it and compare it to the Psalter for Prayer from Jordanville, another favorite of mine. May God continue to bless you and your channel, as well as Momma Cat and Spooky Cat!!
Yep, I like to collect Psalters as well. And, since I can kinda sorta read Greek (because I studied Koine Greek a little bit) this Psalter almost makes me want to act like a madman as well. 😜
What a treasure of a book, I just asked the seller how much to send to Australia. I reckon it'll be about $130... yeah our $ blows 😖 but, I got my 1st prayer book, printed out a PDF and stuck it in a sleeve folder, it cost me about $0... bargain 🙃
There are sellers in Australia that sell this book, you might want to look around. The person that donated the book to the show actually sent it from Australia lol.
@@OrthodoxReview yeah I heard that bit, it did make me wonder. We (as in Adelaide sth aus) do have a book shop called Koorong, a lot of Reformation stuff, with a guaranteed side of, "that's not listed on our computer" 😆👍
Is it a size that you don't have to hold the pages down or otherwise it will close in on it self? And does it have the same translation as the little green psalter?
@@OrthodoxReview thanks for the reply! Do you have a recommendation for a Psalter with a similar translation? I have a “Psalter for Prayer” but I find the archaic language used in that translation to be quite difficult.
Bringing up the Psalter, have you received the new Ignatius Press Psalter (to go with their Apostle, Gospel, and Prophetologion). I received notice that pre-orders were in the mail.
@@OrthodoxReview I should receive my copy before you release your review (if that’s being planned). I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it however.
Your intro made me dislocated my ball from my leg and also got reminded of this from back when we were pretending to look for Osama bin. 👍 ruclips.net/video/jd8219Nj2so/видео.html
Finally, an Italian Orthodox prayerbook
Bahahaha

I keep trying not to collect psalters. Lead me not into temptation.
Not a bad temptation to have unless short on cash lol

Sounds like a great book!
I'm enjoying it

Pizza 🍕 hilarious! Thanks for the review.
Is there an edition of this exact same English translation of the psalter without the Greek side-by-side?
No
