I just got my copy - they had Black Friday pricing on the Psalter. I have to say that I agree with a few others…never thought I’d put the old green Psalter down and pick-up this new green psalter, but I have. It’s well done.

Give me the book by New Rome press, but put it in traditional English. Add in the Coverdale Psalms. And please, stop messing around with the prayers that everybody knows by heart. I don't care what some random priests or monk says about how the Our Father or the Trisagion should be translated.

Off topic to the video but.. I need help during the nativity fast. I am not a catechumen in any orthodox church yet but I've been attempting to fast and I wonder if I'm doing the right thing ? I usually get irritable during fasting but I don't know if that's grounds for discontinuing the fast since it is meant to make one stronger spiritually. If you can give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated, I always find a sense of home in your videos and I feel they bring me closer to the path I need to be on. Thank you ❤

That is a great comment, but they did this a lot in the books, using terms that are out of place or completely anachronistic. Dune is it good overall story, it just not written well.

You seem to be very knowledgeable of the services. You’re halfway there🙏😀 just a thought. Look up the Saint Stephen’s program if God puts it on your heart and talk to your priest.😇

I find your reviews and other videos very valuable. I feel God pulling me to Him and learning about The Church, of Orthodox. The Way. The One and only Holy Catholic and Apostolic church. My wife and I grew up knowing nothing about orthodoxy in baptist/evangelical/non denominational churches. Pray for us. We had turned away from Christianity, and my wife is still against it, while my heart is softened. She went through some traumatic experiences in the protestant church and her abusive ex husband who used his views of Christianity and conspiracy theories against her.

Does the Canadian book have more in it than the U.S. counterpart? Does the U.S. version have Paschal material in it? I noticed this one has both paschal liturgy and paschal hours

I really wish the New Rome would come in Traditional English, the St. Ignatius would not do such funky translations of things like the Our Father, or the Holy Transfiguration would have included Evening Prayers along with Morning and Small Compline. I just can't seem to find a prayer book I really want to get. I mostly use the Orthoprax app but that bounces back an forth between Traditional and Modern English in the middle of the prayers.
