@@calopsita4465 Ready or Not is pretty good, and so is Tarkov because of how much control and customisation you have and I feel like CS:GO is a bit overrated. However, I haven't played any of them so these opinions are pretty worthless.

Silence can have its place, but it needs to have counterplay. For example, a lingering AoE silence where you get your abilities back if you get out of range. It also generally works better if there are characters that can fight well without abilities, and in an FPS that means they should have weapons with depth.
This only gets me more mad at the new sombra, since now she can hack while being invisible, and you might say that at least you get your abilitys a lot faster, but I prefered when sombra had to take a risk when hacking since the voiceline gived you a clue to her position and this window of opotunity could be easily exploited, now she just searchs for a weird place, hacks, runs away and repeat over and over and over again till she gets her ultimate. Sorry for this being a rant but I just miss old sobra, she was funier to both play and fight against
Mfw my main a decade ago in LoL was Malzahar, who had a really fun gimmick to his silence. Skillshot with a delay, so with great play you can eviscerate the enemy if they dive you. The number of times an assassin would jump into a pre-fired silence and not even need to be ulti-ed was awesome.
In Hunt: Slowdown, every gun can one shot to head, but every gun is an extremely slow firing bolt action/lever action gun, and fights can be at longer ranges as well. It leads to fun games where you miss 80% of shots while constantly repositioning to get a leg up on your opponent, and the two or three shots that do land decide the match.
Bro the moment he started talking about one shot mechanics being bad I could only think of Hunt where, as you said, every single gun can one shot headshot (granted you're in range) and how well it fits that game. If headshots no longer insta-killed for most guns in Hunt then everyone would use the exact same handful of guns that could, and all the diversity would cease.
Silencing abilities are alot like stuns. Sometimes, there's just too oppressive of mechanics (namely: hypermobility), and it needs some sort of weakness or downside. The problem arises, however, when the silence/stun fucks over everyone else more than it does the things that it's supposed to keep in check.
This was the problem with Stasis in Destiny 2 (at release). Take Stasis damage, you get slowed. Take too much, you get frozen solid. For an eternity. In a game based around gunplay and movement. In PvE, it was amazing, and so much fun. In PvP, it was a nightmare.
@@specterknight0542 the sombra rework was good imo the hack can be interrupted by taking damage, so it takes a little bit of skill to pull off (not much, but a little), then if you pull off the virus skillshot you get damage that increases if you already pulled off the hack the hack's ability silencing is very short as well, so it's mostly about knowing when to use it effectively (cancelling ults, dropping shields, or my personal favorite of dropping flying characters mid-flight off a cliff), then if you're good at aiming, you get a big damage pay off
Cool idea for silencing ability implementation; what if you had some sort of ninja character and they threw knives and they had like poison or something and if you hit someone else with enough knives in a short enough time frame the poison kicks in and they get silenced? This way, you have to aim together a few attacks in a nice chain, so that A. It takes some skill, B. You don’t get it too often and C. The user feels like a badass?
Yeah but at that point it's just super OP ninja knives, and if you got all those shots in then you most likely would've killed them. Maybe just one or two knives would do, so you can sneak up on people, get a shots in, then disappear or something like that
This whole ability thing got me an idea. In some games there’s a stacking debuff and with the requirement of consistent throws, this could just weaken their abilities to a degree the first hit and second hit within the short timeframe would shut it off completely. So what you guys think?
Titan fall 2 is the one game that has lots of one shots that I thoroughly enjoy, I believe that is because the movement abilities make it hard to hit those one shots and also let you re-enter the fight quickly so you get to spend more time playing the game than you do traveling towards the action
i like breachers for a similar but also opposite reason. game is vr, aiming a gun in vr is hard, and the sights are placed just slightly above just to make it a bit harder. but when you do hear that "dink" and see them flop over, it feels amazing.
yet another reason Titanfall 2 is a great game. Zipping across the map at the speed of light has zero effect on your accuracy, the silencing ability is always a skillshot and doesn't disable abilities but instead distorts your vision
Titanfall 2 is very campy game, though. Just take the Titan and camp a corner of the map farming kills. Campaign is also mostly just cover gameplay against hitscan enemies
@@benshulz4179 It is not a campy game and if a titan is camping in a corner just call your titan on them so they move or ruin their day by bombarding them with the charge rifle or the thunder bolt it is not hard
@@lløådI None of those are good counters. Charge rifle is fine theoretically, but because most titans have shields and/or splash damage and/or wallhacks, you cannot just charge it up behind a wall and release on target more than 1 time titanfall can hit if you're lucky and good at aiming, and titan 1v1 is effective, but it trades 1 camper for another one in the same spot (unless you leave the camp spot for whatever reason, its the best spot to play) thunder bolt is okay if you can somehow get close. Although if you can do that consistently, the titan isn't really oppressive enough for you to care if they camp a map corner
That's actually not true for a lot of cases. It's highly dependent on the weapon and ironically the weapons best equipped to head shot consistently are less likely to kill in a single head shot. The reason for this being that these weapons would shoot cleanly through with a clear entry and exit wound. We don't actually need that much of our brain to "survive" With a single wound in and out, all you'd really suffer is some memory loss, a complete personality change, and several other potential side effects including but not limited to inability to make new memories or the loss of one, if not all, of the senses. You would still be alive though. The story of Phineas Gage is an extreme example of this. Long story short, there is a reason that professional snipers don't aim for the head and it isn't just because it is a harder target to hit.
@@Jetraychamp55 There being medical procedures based around removing parts of the brain vs those based around repairing the heart should say enough as to which is more effective
@@Jetraychamp55 Survivorship bias. The American Association of Neurological Surgeons reports 90% of gunshot wounds to the head are fatal. Extremely few people will be able to even function directly after receiving severe brain trauma. OP's more than the devils advocate, they're right.

As a Kay/O main... your discomfort and frustration is IMMENSELY satisfying. Pulling a "Haha, lol bro" on Jetts and Razes who come after me and my team with their Ults is one of the core reasons why I've loved Kay/O since launch
i thought he was gonna say something about weapon inspection and was primed and ready to rant about why weapon inspection is the only reason i still play shooters
for valorant Kayo isn't made to take away abilities that's it's useless use, Kayo is more or less used as a sova it scans enemies and tags them so you know how many there are BUT it also counters a lot of valorant agents especially in pro play where Viper,Killjoy, chyper etc, Kayo's knife isn't that hard to play around when you are against it it doesn't cover an entire site and it's breakable with 1 shot and it's actually healthy for valorant since Killjoy and chyper are unbeatable on certain maps unless you have a sova or Kayo
even in single player games this shit is annoying; in Final Fantasy Ring of Fates on the DS, if you get hit with a lightning attack and suffer its status effect, you literally can't do anything except for running, jumping, and picking up stuff, so it *literally* takes away your ability to play the game and it's annoying as hell.
I’m gonna play devils advocate and say that I think really the silence abilities for apex and valorant aren’t really that bad. Silence abilities have different roles across different games. For example, in valorant, kayo’s knife is an info gathering tool that tells you who is within the radius of the knife. He’s an initiator which is mainly to get information and help duellists push on site etc, so that being his only info gathering compared to sova or fade who has 2 needs to have more effect than their info gathering. The silence also ensures that when you’re pushing on site that they can’t just run away or back up with abilities (yoru E and omen ult). His ult also comes with the downside of exposing his location. so you can find him. For apex, rev’s silence deters enemies from pushing through certain doors or areas. His silence also stops wraith, octane and loba from just using their abilities to run away. These games their main thing is still gunplay and positioning, where the abilities give you an advantage in doing these. Revenant’s orb thingy and kayos knife weakens enemies by silencing them so that the gun fight is easier to win. I do understand overwatch where a big thing is still the abilities more over the gunplay since even the guns are unique to the character so a silence doesn’t really make sense since you can’t switch weapons or have the same weapon against the enemy to make it even. Just my opinion on this
@@Voyager-sama it isnnt fun for you but it is for many, theres a reason why csgo is still one of the most popular games after all these years and valorant has insane fanbase since its release. it wouldnt be the same if no one found it fun
@@Voyager-sama honestly in my own experience. Getting silenced by kayo is 10 times less frustrating than getting silenced by sombra. So I feel they did something right there where overwatch failed
My preferred version of this is a cancel instead of a silence. Not "You can't do this" but "I noticed you're going to do something and I'm gonna cut you off halfway through". It keeps it from being a fire and forget ability, so it has to be used more intelligently but because its specific rather than general it can also be given with a relatively low cooldown or cost meaning that someone who knows what they're doing and knows the abilities of the opposing team can still operate as a good counter.
kinda reminds me of kiriko's E ability, sure you can just use it to heal your teammates a little bit but if you want to get the full use out of it you have to be aware of what's going on and who's about to die on your team, who's about to use a big ability etc
@@vivelespatat2670 I think he isn't talking about a full-on stun, but more of an interrupt. Interrupts simply end in-progress casting times or channeling, as opposed to preventing the use of abilities or briefly removing control.
I think suppression works wonderfully for Valorant because abilities are secondary to the gunplay. Valorant abilities are literally just CSGO utility, they aren't how you attack directly but you use them to create unfair situations for your gun to clean up. To me Kayo's knife feels a little deeper then sombra just taking you out of the game for a few seconds, getting hit by it gives you the choice to either give up space or risk raw dog holding the angle. Also it's good info. Also also Kayo's ult is fuckin sick.
I can't speak on valorant or CS's one shot mechanics, but in siege, it's completely earned because if you get caught off guard by somebody peaking you, it means they outplayed you with gadgets, cameras, and positioning. It's more likely to be what you do beforehand that gets you a kill, not necessarily your aim in a lot of cases.
its the same in those games too, this guy kinda put out a video without thinking on those mechanics..along with other very important facts he failed to mention and continued to misrepresent
@@flyzfm5060 I think it's still a valid criticism of the games, it's fine to like it or to not like and to present reasons why for me, it was one of the reasons I didn't really click with siege, you make one wrong move and get headshot immediately and spend the rest of the round watching other people have fun, it's frustrating when you're not good yet, that's time where you can't really practice either so it takes longer to get better than games with a respawn. also, I've played and watched enough r6s to know that while some fire fights come down to good gadget use and team communication, a lot can come down to rate of fire as well, which the guy does touch on in the video. also, your point would be better made if you said what those facts were, because I don't think the mechanics were misrepresented, the guy was just presenting their opinion on why they don't like the mechanics, it's not like an in depth analysis on why they do or don't work
@@keagankeesling7779 superior tactics>>>>> reaction time. theres old af people who still get the top ranks in cs and valo. its more a game of chess than a game of aim once you learn how to click on the bad guys.
CSs combination of 1 shot weapons and utilities that control line of sight are what makes it fun. Its not only about shooting first, but rather making the right decisions to put you in a position to shoot first. It also makes things extremely tense
@Scruffy3249 the awp embodies it. The weapon is incredibly strong but also slow, and has tunnel vision. Outshooting an awp is impractical, so they must be outplayed with positioning and utility
I think having a more interactable ability would make silencing a bit more interesting. Splatoon has a new special where you place down an object and it shoots waves out from under it, revealing and damaging whoever it hits, but this wave can be jumped over, making it something you have to worry about on top of dealing with enemies. I'm not saying EVERY game has to do something like this, but I think its cool if there is an ability that either requires extra effort on the users end to get value out of OR requires the enemy to change up their current style to adhere to it.
@@ravelnavarro9625 no, it is apex reference. He is saying that he wants to fight the "bloodthirsty robot" and shows us the revenant from apex, who is the nloodthirsty robot he is talking about. And rev has silencing ability
Silence abilities do need to start trending towards requiring some skill or setup to have impact but I think your opinion on TacFPS games is underdeveloped. CSGO is structured such that the attacking team with the AK's can get a 1 hit headshot as a handicap for having to be the attacking team. M4 does not 1 shot and therefore players are encoruaged to utilize utility to setup a strong defense to prevent getting 1tapped. Its ok to dislike the fast TTK but your opinion is very dismissive.
@@deezclutches7924 right, so why give the AWP to anyone in the first place? It can one shot you if it so much as grazes your left pinky toe. It's just stupid.
I like tactical shooters, and your criticisms are why I enjoy them. I don't see them adding a bunch of things to combat defence being easier as a problem, and the one shot headshot is the name of the game for me. The fun is figuring out how to position yourself to make it easier for you to get them before they can
One-shot mechanics do suck though when they’re things like, the awp from CS:GO. What’s the point of a skill mechanic when it gets beat out by one that has no real downside that one-shots the body? Like, atleast shotguns require you to get up close to an enemy for the same result, but across the map?
@@Scruffy-qi3ik That's where utilities and positioning comes in. The opposing team can use their grenades to block the AWPer's line of sight/force them out of their spot or have one of the team's player go around and flank the AWPer since the AWPer has a tunnel vision while in scope.
i hate it when i play a game with fun movement, where you go around the map like a madman, and then just see players kill you because they camp one spot on the map, like why are you playing like this.
That's respectable, but I find target tracking to be an absolute nightmare in those games. Dropped Apex for a couple years to play tact shooters and can't land shots worth a damn anymore in it. I'd rather focus on learning how to land precise shots than learn how to shoot people that travel across my entire screen repeatedly.
I feel this for how the bosses in every game are immune to every ability except for the rare occasion when they are immune to every ability except the one you get in that dungeon.
A reminder that the silent status was meant for RPGs and was called as such, since spells had a verbal component. It works in that genre, NOT IN THIS ONE!
Kay/o in Valorant is actually quite well done. The knife has strong counterplay, namely being able to be dodged or shot while it eminates a glowing orb telling you _exactly_ where it is before detonation, and the radius is notable, but dodgable (especially since mist KAY/Os knife the same few spots)
this guy's way of saying things is just entertaining. Like even if I disagree with what he's saying, he's just fun to watch. And yes I'm just writing this comment because of sponsor bit
i totally get why you dislike tactical shooters, getting one shot isn't fun at all. however, they're called tactical shooters for a reason. valorant is specifically designed so that you can't just walk onto a site, plant the bomb and win easily, the shooting mechanics are super punishing for that exact reason. you have to use your abilities with your team to get people off the bomb site (make space) and play around strong guns like the operator to avoid all getting mowed down. communication and teamwork is key. as for silencing abilities, it depends on the situation. with valorant you still have an extremely high potential to counter the kay/o who silenced your abilities, either by just waiting the timer out or dodging his flashes by turning away. you (if you're not on an eco round) still have a high-power assault rifle in your hands, he won't steal those :D tactical shooters do suck from a barrier to entry standpoint, seeing as cooperating with any random person online is basically impossible to achieve, and a high learning curve about the intricacies of the game. the game design is more well thought-out than it lets on though
4:05 at least in the low-middle skill games, if you are given enough ammo and the sightlines are decently obstructed, it's actually a pretty decent strategy to just confidently walk around, shooting a few rounds in any place you think an enemy could be in
On the contrary, I love abilities like silencing. However, I think its more of I enjoy the "great equalizer" if I could copy the exact same skills, or nullify both of our skills, then I love playing as that character
huh, guess you equalized my take I do think 5 whole seconds of silence in an action game is probably too much, AoE full silence is just too strong for that
Well kayos ability in specific can be avoided and played around, sometimes even destroyed before it triggers so its not conpletly OP but I do get your point about why the ability in itself could be annoying
But in "tactical shooters" attacking is better than defending... If you die to a camper, you wouldn't win that situation if the roles were reversed. It's okay to not like it, but just lying about game mechanics feels weird. You don't have to do that.
I mean, the headshot mechanic is pretty much the perfect case for one-shots. If you have the ability to hit a smaller target faster than the opponent, you're rewarded accordingly. The opposite are the typical FPS shotguns where within a certain range, you can shoot at the enemy's foot and it will still act as a big F*!k off one-shot weapon
As someone someone who mains Revenant in apex I must say it just feels so good when I silence a Wraith, Valk, or Path and they try to get away, but can’t. Watching them panic is so satisfying. It’s not as noticeable as Rev because he’s just a not great character with a broken hit box, but ya fun to play at least for me
I like silence and suppression abilities, but they really shouldn't be too large an aoe or given to DPS classes. Those are utility abilities and would be alot more balanced on a tank than for a DPS.
Holding corners builds tension, and can be countered with a flash bang. Suppressing moves are just like flashes or stuns or smokes or walls. Its an ability that makes it harder for your opening to kill you. I agree lazy battlepasses are bad
The one shot mechanic is not unfair. It is litterally the better player that wins the duel 9/10 times. Still great video, i agree with everything else, keep it up!
one shots are fine in right circumstances, getting quickscoped long distance in tf2 is not one of these circumstances because some dudes skill just invalidated your fun from 5 kilometres away.
no man, run and gun spray random hits is WAAAAAAAAAAAY better because oevery little sh1t gets his kills then! not peeking a one shot weapon requires a brain.
Silence isn't inherintly a problem, usually its application is just bad. The stronger the CC, the harder it must be to apply and the more visually clear it should be. In Heroes of the Storm for instance, all abilities that root (completely incapacitate movement) had to have a very clear visual distinction and most of them were either slow AoEs with enough time to walk out, or a slow skillshot.
Don’t fucking kill him lmao, just down him. If he died in the open just spam his downed location when enemy goes for a res, and if he died where he can be rezzed safely just cry about it.
@@DoggoDoesStuff1 tell that to my teammates, i dont kill him unless my teamamte is trying to take my kill tbh, if ur not top of scoreboard youre gonna get flamed so gotta stay on top and then shit talk ur mates when you lose
Back in Destiny I would run Titan with double suppressor grenades with a discipline build to increase grenade recharge rate. Might as well open your inventory when you get suppresed, mobility is the name of the game and your double jump counts as an ability
Agreed with the silencing ability, but I think the 1 shot games are for certain people. It's much slower gameplay, not a bad mechanic, just a different genre
I disagree with almost everything in this video. With the exception of Sombra being broken and me not playing league, Kayo actually takes skill to use. Yes you can just throw his knife but if its out in the open the enemy can easily break it. Also the knife suppresses in a certain area so if you don't want to be suppressed just walk out of the area for a second. Also, games with one shot mechanics feel good to me and other people because it feels rewarding to get a crispy one shot. And for the point that sitting in corners is an advantage, you're actually at a disadvantage by standing still because of peaker's advantage.
sombra wasn't broken. her abilities could be easily countered. the pros literally did it all the time, and that's why sombra mains had counters to counter the counters
That wasn't the point. Stuns are just unfun mechanics in certain genres. Multiplayer games are about interaction, and if you remove interaction, people find it less fun.
By planning do you mean sitting by a corner but you rotate which corner you camp by every two rounds? Let’s be honest there is zero planning in tactical shooters unless you hit the highest ranks, games like overwatch have much more uses for planning because the abilities are actually fun yet impactful, so you can combo and position
@@TrueOracle I play in the top 10% but even in gold there's strategy. Defense's job is to hold site, attack pushes site. Why would defense push? That'd be throwing the game.
These mechanics are part of why I was pushed to eventually play only titanfall 2 That game's pretty much free from these issues due to the skill based movement speed
I will say, Valorant is coded with peakers advantage, meaning that if ur good, you can peak and (see the other player first and) kill the other player before they react. It when you add flashes, it means holding angles isnt always the easiest
One of the first games I fell in love with was a small turn based RPG called Crystal Story - it was so fun - but one thing stood out: Silence (and Confuse kinda did the same thing too i guess). Silence just removes the ability to cast spells, and theres no way to upgrade the basic attack except with stats, but when magic is so powerful theres no reason to use attack - now, it did have a redeeming factor, you can also Silence bosses to make their attacks all weak ones for a short time... except all of them have default high resistance to it. So... yeah... if your game has a mechanic, dont give ways to outright disable it unless the rest of the gameplay can hold itself or if a new mechanic gets introduced.
Dota 2 has a hero thats called Silencer, all his abilities are based on punishing heroes if they use abilities, and his ultimate silence all enemies globaly😂
KAY/O is awesome & Zero Point is actually a very tactical skill -- you use it to entry sites, stop pushes, turn off recon, etc its seriously such a unique initiator ability & I couldn't have imagined anyone having an issue with it.... I understand it can be frustrating to have your abilities suppressed but also what's really cool about Valorant is the economy & how unused skills can be carried over from round to round. You could also just avoid KAY/O's knife by starting the round further back or keeping mind over where he plays on the map & how he plays
Everybody talking about silence while I'm just happy he called out movement based accuracy holy hell I hate it so much, like aiming wasn't easy enough just stop in place so you get shot in the head instantly.
I think ability suppressors can be done right and well, they need to have a long cool down and be like the suppression nade from d2 which bounces and rolls a lot making it hard to hit
As much as I may agree with this take... Kay0's reasoning behind his kit is just too good. He's literally one of the last remaining machine/bots that utilizes an almost non-existent mineral that disables radiantintes. Plus an EMP/jamming signal for non-radianite characters makes sense too. He's literally and radianites worst nightmare
I was literally just thinking about this. I don't have a problem with silencing abilities but I was just wondering "Hey, this is probably something you want to avoid putting into a game."
Btw in valorant the peeker actually has the advantage because of something called ”peeker’s advantage” search it up if you want more info about it but its all quite simple
The whole "I suck so you have to chill for a sec so I can play too" thing is irritating but only until I suck at the game because then it's the best thing ever, it gives me a chance to "git gud", then it's a trashy mechanic and I hate it again because then other people can learn to play and I suck again.
4:14 this isnt true if you've played tac shooters in any meaningful amount. IF you KNOW you're going to run into someone holding an angle, you want to devote as many resources as possible into eliminating it. AT THE SAME TIME, the angle holder wants to make sure that YOU EXHAUST as many resources as possible into eliminating you, preferably at a lower loss for you. HOWEVER, the angle holder has a big disadvantage; he doesnt know when you're going to appear in his crosshair. In fact, he doesnt even know if you will appear at all. So for every second that he spends looking down that angle, the chance of HIM being a wasted resource becomes higher. This is a phenomenon called peeker's advantage; the aggressor in this specific scenario controls the pace. Through this and the concept of timing, you can eliminate the angle holder purely from timing; he will either momentary lapse in concentration, move away from the angle, or stay too long in that angle. That entirely depends on what decisions you make. Those decisions, in a map, will happen at multiple points in the map, in a game of 10 players. In 10 seconds of a round, a dozen decisions are already being made, and all of them will converge on the end result of the round. Whether it is boring or not is up to you, because at the end of the day, tactical shooters are games that are meant to favor the person who makes the best DECISIONS not the one running around like a maniac.
I personally think 1 shots are what make valorant great, it's all about correctly using the abilities to set yourself and your team up to be the ones to shoot first, instead of just walking blindly into enemy sightlines and dying. It punishes you severely for making predictable, dumb plays and rewards you extremely for smart, well thought out ability usage
for those of you saying "mad cuz bad," you are absolutely correct.

You're right, long silences are fun.
It’s amazing content
Silence can have its place, but it needs to have counterplay. For example, a lingering AoE silence where you get your abilities back if you get out of range. It also generally works better if there are characters that can fight well without abilities, and in an FPS that means they should have weapons with depth.
Silence is only really bad in overwatch, a ability-based game compared to apex or valorant where gunplay is more important.
In val its so annoying because there are spots where you can knife through walls so theres nothing you can do to stop it
soraka!!!
It’s a hunt taketh type of day
Bro the moment he started talking about one shot mechanics being bad I could only think of Hunt where, as you said, every single gun can one shot headshot (granted you're in range) and how well it fits that game. Silencing abilities are alot like stuns.
Sometimes, there's just too oppressive of mechanics (namely: hypermobility), and it needs some sort of weakness or downside.
The problem arises, however, when the silence/stun fucks over everyone else more than it does the things that it's supposed to keep in check.

the hack can be interrupted by taking damage, so it takes a little bit of skill to pull off (not much, but a little), then if you pull off the virus skillshot you get damage that increases if you already pulled off the hack
the hack's ability silencing is very short as well, so it's mostly about knowing when to use it effectively (cancelling ults, dropping shields, or my personal favorite of dropping flying characters mid-flight off a cliff), then if you're good at aiming, you get a big damage pay off

Consider this flaw tho. That time you were aiming the silencer, why don't you just shoot em?

yet another reason Titanfall 2 is a great game. Zipping across the map at the speed of light has zero effect on your accuracy, the silencing ability is always a skillshot and doesn't disable abilities but instead distorts your vision
The arc grenade also inhibits your movement which has gotten me several times, but it's a skill shot so I don't mind

Charge rifle is fine theoretically, but because most titans have shields and/or splash damage and/or wallhacks, you cannot just charge it up behind a wall and release on target more than 1 time

and yet aiming for the chest by looking AT THE LEGS is more efficient in real life
That's actually not true for a lot of cases. The story of Phineas Gage is an extreme example of this. for valorant Kayo isn't made to take away abilities that's it's useless use, Kayo is more or less used as a sova it scans enemies and tags them so you know how many there are BUT it also counters a lot of valorant agents especially in pro play where Viper,Killjoy, chyper etc, Kayo's knife isn't that hard to play around when you are against it it doesn't cover an entire site and it's breakable with 1 shot and it's actually healthy for valorant since Killjoy and chyper are unbeatable on certain maps unless you have a sova or Kayo
Super Cell mfs when they added Otis and Cordelius:
even in single player games this shit is annoying; in Final Fantasy Ring of Fates on the DS, if you get hit with a lightning attack and suffer its status effect, you literally can't do anything except for running, jumping, and picking up stuff, so it *literally* takes away your ability to play the game and it's annoying as hell.
at least apex removed the silence ability a few seasons back :D
That ability is called killing

So, a stun ?
@@vivelespatat2670 I think he isn't talking about a full-on stun, but more of an interrupt. Interrupts simply end in-progress casting times or channeling, as opposed to preventing the use of abilities or briefly removing control.

kayo's version of cancel would be shooting hit knife
I think suppression works wonderfully for Valorant because abilities are secondary to the gunplay. Valorant abilities are literally just CSGO utility, they aren't how you attack directly but you use them to create unfair situations for your gun to clean up. To me Kayo's knife feels a little deeper then sombra just taking you out of the game for a few seconds, getting hit by it gives you the choice to either give up space or risk raw dog holding the angle. Also it's good info. Also also Kayo's ult is fuckin sick.

Stellar isn't it?
I can't speak on valorant or CS's one shot mechanics, but in siege, it's completely earned because if you get caught off guard by somebody peaking you, it means they outplayed you with gadgets, cameras, and positioning. It's more likely to be what you do beforehand that gets you a kill, not necessarily your aim in a lot of cases.
its the same in those games too, this guy kinda put out a video without thinking on those mechanics..along with other very important facts he failed to mention and continued to misrepresent
@@flyzfm5060 I think it's still a valid criticism of the games, it's fine to like it or to not like and to present reasons why
for me, it was one of the reasons I didn't really click with siege, you make one wrong move and get headshot immediately and spend the rest of the round watching other people have fun, it's frustrating when you're not good yet, that's time where you can't really practice either so it takes longer to get better than games with a respawn.
also, I've played and watched enough r6s to know that while some fire fights come down to good gadget use and team communication, a lot can come down to rate of fire as well, which the guy does touch on in the video.
also, your point would be better made if you said what those facts were, because I don't think the mechanics were misrepresented, the guy was just presenting their opinion on why they don't like the mechanics, it's not like an in depth analysis on why they do or don't work

I think having a more interactable ability would make silencing a bit more interesting. i totally get why you dislike tactical shooters, getting one shot isn't fun at all. however, they're called tactical shooters for a reason. valorant is specifically designed so that you can't just walk onto a site, plant the bomb and win easily, the shooting mechanics are super punishing for that exact reason. you have to use your abilities with your team to get people off the bomb site (make space) and play around strong guns like the operator to avoid all getting mowed down. communication and teamwork is key.
as for silencing abilities, it depends on the situation. with valorant you still have an extremely high potential to counter the kay/o who silenced your abilities, either by just waiting the timer out or dodging his flashes by turning away. you (if you're not on an eco round) still have a high-power assault rifle in your hands, he won't steal those :D

I feel like the longer I've watched this channel the more of their unhinged self they've become & I absolutely love it.
You could also just avoid KAY/O's knife by starting the round further back or keeping mind over where he plays on the map & how he plays
kayo knife is his signature so im p sure it recharges during a round
@@essonyoutube it does
Nice video, hope you get more publicity since you really do deserve it
As a KAY/O main i feel personnaly attacked.
You should.
Same but as a revenant main
KAY/O is my favorite agent. Love stopping those annoying Jetts and Chambers.
@@abdullah9269 no silence for you hehe
Everybody talking about silence while I'm just happy he called out movement based accuracy holy hell I hate it so much, like aiming wasn't easy enough just stop in place so you get shot in the head instantly.
5:19 go eat a club sandwich with extra mustard and missing cheese.
I think ability suppressors can be done right and well, they need to have a long cool down and be like the suppression nade from d2 which bounces and rolls a lot making it hard to hit
Idk getting silenced is just time to work on gunplay for 4 seconds then back to the regular gameplay, get gud
I don’t like commenting that much but if it can make someone else as obsessed to watch every video you put out as soon as possible I’ll do it
The whole "I suck so you have to chill for a sec so I can play too" thing is irritating but only until I suck at the game because then it's the best thing ever, it gives me a chance to "git gud", then it's a trashy mechanic and I hate it again because then other people can learn to play and I suck again.
You're bothered by silences but not bothered by stuns which remove even more of the things you can do?
they're not common
@@hastur2905 They are in some games MORE COMMON than silences, and with literal 0 counterplay.
HOLY SHIT HE GOT A SPONSOR I HOPE FOR HIM TO AGES AGO- wait nevermind
"The person doing the one-shotting isnt having fun either"
Nah bro i'm having a great time!
