Phil can't even update a death counter right. It's like Elden Ring all over again, except Phil wage quit the death counter on the 1st stream this time.
44:27 Phil complaining about a million sound effects and music distracting him from focusing on the fight. That's every souls-like game, wtf are you talking about?
The way he talks about Souls games, you'd think he'd never played one. He acts like Souls games hold your hand and the bosses are super easy. In all honesty, I think this game is more forgiving than a lot of Souls goes. He just absolutely sucks at the genre because the only tactic he bothers to attempt is brute force.
i honestly imagined this game would be fine for phil? you can keep attacking the ENTIRE time youre fighting someone and the game is very generous with deflect windows and doesnt outright kill you for missing them the way sekiro does, plus a lot of your weapon skills and magic spells both doing a ton of posture damage and canceling your recoveries so it's easier to deflect... i guess nothing gets past this guy edit: you can also just block literally everything that isn't a red attack. so you dont even have to deflect like 80% of an enemy's moevset
I'm surprised he struggled with this one. It's far more generous with perry windows than Lies of P and attack windows than Elden Ring... Wait, no I'm not! I just now got around to playing Wolong myself and just beat the second and third boss. First off, Phil is playing the game like its a passive parry and then reposte game. So, he just stands there, and then gets hit. It's not. You have to keep your character moving, time the attack AND stay aggressive. What happens if you are aggressive with good timed, heavy attacks, you break down your enemy's poise, which allows your parries to their heavy attacks be far more effective.
I forgot to say, it's about positioning as well. This is where keeping your character moving is a good strategy. But against Aoye, especially, he keeps standing in front of the monster.
you can see how his mindset is in this type of game he just want to run through the level not fighting anything not want to learn anything just grinding at level 1 and tutorial forever so he got a lot of level to just brute force the game everytimes he fight something he's always keep walk backward(just like his life) till his back hit the wall and blame on wall and camera he not has abilities to read the room just walk into the traps get overwhelm and blame the game like when shit hit the fan he gonna dig his hole and go back to his den again like always always exaggerate the situation "they're came out of nowhere they're like 10 100 1000 guys come after me i don't even see them before" his abilities to learning is super low level this game tell you that when you use skills it cost bar to use so what he do? just mash the skill button hope damage come out and getting light tab by enemy and lose and he keep doing the same and hope it works yeah he's really bad
Only DSP keeps throwing himself at a moral level 15 enemy while he's moral 3, AFTER Xiahou Yun even told him might be smarter to go the long way around.
This game had some up’s and downs for me, some trials and tribulations, but in the end, I have mostly mastered the art of deflection in this game. The spells and combat that assist eachother really work well. Timing was and is crucial to when you need to do some damage, and when you need to sometimes not be aggressive, and learn the boss’s moves. All in all this game was great, and I enjoyed it to its fullest. 10/10
I now understand why they say not all games are for everyone. This is the most awful gamer I have ever seen. I am not by any means a souls veteran but I know wo long is the easiest difficult game I have ever played. This guy just refused to learn anything
Love the new driving miss daisy sunhat Phil, very cute. And perfect summation of Phil's entire "career" at 11:49, he's 40 years old, can't figure shit out on his own and needs the help of younger chatters to help him through any kind of difficulty. If playing video games was your career at 40, you should be REALLY fucking good at them.
He's never been good at them, he just figured out that he could make easy money by pretending to be a gamer and this is the result.. watch him play a game like DMC, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Bayonetta, etc and it becomes immediately clear that he not only doesn't enjoy it, but that he has a very obvious learning disability.. it took him hours to learn how to crouch jump in Half-Life 2 hahaha
the amount of sodium coming out of this mouth in this game is truly classic Phil. Still amazing how a man in his 40s has no situational awareness or observational skills to learn in a game.
This truly is a new legendarily bad playthrough for dsp. His refusal to even attempt to learn the game - which on NG is frankly *very* easy by genre standards - is just painful to watch. Cringe inducing listening to him whine and complain about how the game is terrible when it’s clearly just him. I don’t really *hate* Phil like a lot of people who follow him, to me he’s like an enjoyable goof, but this playthrough is the kind of thing where I can see why people find him SO annoying
Man, i love this game. I love this era of history. Watching this was painful, he is just so bad at every game he plays. You think you would learn and get better by the end, but not old Philbert. Never takes advantage of the Morale mechanic, always whines bosses are too strong. Like, man. Nah. Tried to dodge, didn't work.
2:01:30 Phil in the middle of war if he gets shot: **stays where he was** and just wonders where the bullets came from. Move, fool, move! 2:36:26 Phil mocks the A.I after landing two cheap backstabs on the same common enemy. How does he still lose to him? Ok, I finished it, and man, the final boss wiped the floor with Phil!
To be fair, I don’t normally defend dsp on stuff, but that first boss is a little bull crap. You have limited resources, equipment and leveling opportunities. A lot of the casual audience including myself just got lucky on beating the boss. I died quite a few times before getting better with trial and error. Now with that in mind, after the first boss Phil is just ass at the game because the beginning bosses after this are hell of lot easier, you have way better gear, much more leveling opportunities, and you actually have cpu teammates that will attack and combo the enemy, not to mention you can summon other players to assist you. The first boss fight nearly killed this game for me, it was a blast afterwards.
Agree. I’m pretty sure the developer had to clarify in a tweet what you’re supposed to do to finish that first boss because it’s not clear enough. To be fair, I had the same frustrations on this. Having said that, everything else that followed the first boss, was significantly easier.
hes truly insufferable when playing these games. chat can hand hold him as much as they can thru the souls games but his and nioh you cant just fucken r1 spam thru most enemies (for the most part). but that doesnt stop phil from ignoring every huge tell an enemy gives you that a red attack is coming and you can parry it. nope. hed rather face tank it and then ask how was that fair like the dent he is
There's always souls likes Phil will play (or replay) because they get the views. Phil is doing a 3rd run of Bloodborne right now, and will probably do a 4th run if they make a PS5 or PS6 remaster that's 60fos someday.
A fatal mistake I see him doing and wondering why his allies keep dying: he doesn't use them correctly, if he made sure to surround the bosses, both he and the allies would have a better chance!
It baffles me that despite history proving over and over his incompetence at games requiring parrying/timing (Sekiro, every Nioh games, Sifu, some Resident Evil games where QTE were an issue XD) he insists on playing them even though every single one of them will be turned into a TIHYDP sooner or later.
@@TheRisky9people are sleeping hard on this game because currently it’s in the best state it’s ever been in. With each dlc expansion (there’s three) they added a ton of new gameplay and combat tweaks/adjustments. Tons of grace sets. They gave it the nioh 2 treatment with the DLC’s and it’s awesome I’m still playing it today. Working through path of the dragon king (NG++++) and then doing the final dlc
I just got this game to clear my wishlist and I had money. It looked like real fun despite being less good Sekiro, and I am enjoying it. But yeesh, like every game DSP sucks at this hard it's painful. He stands still and takes hits, relying on parry all the time. Doesn't use things like wizardry which the game explains to you. Seems completely oblivious to the Morale and Fortitude mechanics which are a big part of it. And of course blames the game, which is very lenient on parries. But, this is another person who doesn't get the concept of learning.
I agree with him somewhat though. Gaming is supposed to be fun and a reward , I've beaten all the souls games and it was out of pure stubbornness and was not fun and more like punishment.
It's saddening really, to see that he still hasn't changed his attitude towards the games he plays. He is just unable to learn and wants contradictory things. He would like to have a tutorial mapping every boss' state and possible combos but at the same time he wouldn't have the patience to learn it... Like, he read the tutorials aloud and 10 minutes later can't remember what they had said. And then he goes and blames the game that it didn't tell him what to do, like when he complained that it didn't tell him to press Y+B during the Zhang Liang fight, while the prompt was still visible on screen... It sucks because he's not terrible at these games, he just sours his own experience with them, being stubborn and unaware of his flaws. Dying over and over to the same exact combo and complaining that the enemy does the same exact combo (which just means he should be prepared for it). Not understanding the core mechanics of the game, like morale system or the spirit gauge, which he thinks works like a stamina bar. Not understanding after hundreds of deaths that this game has an early parry, not right before the hitboxes collide parry or that the enemy martial arts are telling him when to parry with both a sound cue and a light flash. Unbelievable.
I don’t like this game but holy crap was this an awful playthrough by Dave here. Constantly complaining about things that barely even make sense when we are watching what’s actually happening on screen.
To be fair, this game was a huge step backward compared to Nioh 2. Pretty much budget Sekiro with busted mechanics, and 360 era graphics. Yes, Phil sucks, but the game is nothing special.
so much salt, I love it it's also funny how he says he wish Fromsoft made this game, but then complains every time he plays a Fromsoft game that the "inputs are delayed"
Nothing will ever top his 1,170 deaths in crash 4 while doing about 35% of the content ( unless he tried to get all the trophies/achievements in super meat boy or splasher etc).
Phil got more deaths in other games, but Crash 4 had nice consistent rage on each death. I made a Super Monkey Ball TiHYDP that has over 2000 deaths a long time ago, and I'm currently making a series of DSP CoD BO6 Death Montage videos that already have over 4000 deaths and still going.
i see classic DSP rage in TIHYDP..that means this 1 is going to be very entertaining!

1:15:50 Don't stand on the same side as your allies, surround the monster, simpleton!
Phil can't even update a death counter right. It's like Elden Ring all over again, except Phil wage quit the death counter on the 1st stream this time.
"needs a stream chat too learn how too play a game" Makes a lot of sense on why he's so inept at every real life task aswell. Phil, you are the dunce!
you've been puttin in a lot of work these past months. gotta say youre fun!!
He just absolutely sucks at the genre because the only tactic he bothers to attempt is brute force.
i honestly imagined this game would be fine for phil? you can keep attacking the ENTIRE time youre fighting someone and the game is very generous with deflect windows and doesnt outright kill you for missing them the way sekiro does, plus a lot of your weapon skills and magic spells both doing a ton of posture damage and canceling your recoveries so it's easier to deflect... i guess nothing gets past this guy
edit: you can also just block literally everything that isn't a red attack. so you dont even have to deflect like 80% of an enemy's moevset
So many mistakes and he never hold himself accountable and always blame others... it's sad and pathetic =/
Nothing better than seeing this Blobfish DSP getting backstabbed, in game or IRL!
Would love to see phil try to make a game, then complain about how stupid everything is because it should be easier to do.
But against Aoye, especially, he keeps standing in front of the monster.
you can see how his mindset is in this type of game
he just want to run through the level not fighting anything not want to learn anything just grinding at level 1 and tutorial forever so he got a lot of level to just brute force the game
everytimes he fight something he's always keep walk backward(just like his life) till his back hit the wall and blame on wall and camera
he not has abilities to read the room just walk into the traps get overwhelm and blame the game like when shit hit the fan he gonna dig his hole and go back to his den again like always
always exaggerate the situation "they're came out of nowhere they're like 10 100 1000 guys come after me i don't even see them before"
his abilities to learning is super low level this game tell you that when you use skills it cost bar to use so what he do? just mash the skill button hope damage come out and getting light tab by enemy and lose and he keep doing the same and hope it works
yeah he's really bad
😂 I parried but the game didn’t give it to me has to be the funniest shit I’ve heard in a while.
The hat reminded me more of Madeline, which is an odd reference.
the amount of sodium coming out of this mouth in this game is truly classic Phil. Still amazing how a man in his 40s has no situational awareness or observational skills to learn in a game.
1:22:44 that's me! I'm the Joe he's shouting at 🥰
This truly is a new legendarily bad playthrough for dsp.
Like, man. Nah.
Tried to dodge, didn't work.
impressive how you managed to put this together and keeping count
"Death and quit edition"
Still over 4 hours long
Only on DSP Gayming, everyone..
I just beat this two days ago, what the fuck is wrong with him? Why did he even bother playing this?
hes truly insufferable when playing these games. chat can hand hold him as much as they can thru the souls games but his and nioh you cant just fucken r1 spam thru most enemies (for the most part). but that doesnt stop phil from ignoring every huge tell an enemy gives you that a red attack is coming and you can parry it. nope. hed rather face tank it and then ask how was that fair like the dent he is
probably the last pure tihdyp we'll get. at this point he just refuses to play any game that will challenge him without builds
You Honestly think he won’t milk games like this or crash bandicoot lol? Especially if he’s getting shit support, he definitely will.
There's always souls likes Phil will play (or replay) because they get the views. Phil is doing a 3rd run of Bloodborne right now, and will probably do a 4th run if they make a PS5 or PS6 remaster that's 60fos someday.
I literally beat the 1st boss as a level 0. Just had to deflect everything
Pear-ree 😂
A fatal mistake I see him doing and wondering why his allies keep dying: he doesn't use them correctly, if he made sure to surround the bosses, both he and the allies would have a better chance!
Holy crap its 11min and hes already having a meltdown about how bad the game is hahaha
I played this is good
Not to defend DSP, but this game had an extremely fast death 🤣. It was popular for about two weeks and it went poof like Starfield!
Which is a shame because it's a solid game. Unfortunately, it doesn't have that interesting of a story.
273 deaths.... I died 61 times doing all missions on new game and new game+ combined. He's getting progressively worse at these games.
Classic Pigroach. Had to Gout Walk mid view
I played this it is good
lmaoooo 273 deaths. It speaks volume.
death counter : 0 for now lol
Here to comment I just got gamepass and yes I grinded to beat the boss but the game taught me how to beat him. This guy is always in clown mode
31:40 & 45:25 i cant breathe
I thought Phil hated FromSoftware? He talks shit about them constantly while playing their games
To suck at every game he plays that must be a quite a unique skillset only dsp can have
"Wo Long: Insanely Bad Game Design"
This would be a great game if it wasn't Souls-like.
bro facing foes with 2x the moral rank which Is fine tbh. Just don't be surprised and bitch about you taking 2x the damage and get clapped.
1st boss: skill ISSUE
Yes, Phil sucks, but the game is nothing special.
so much salt, I love it
it's also funny how he says he wish Fromsoft made this game, but then complains every time he plays a Fromsoft game that the "inputs are delayed"
These kind of games are super boring
Yeah, this game is dumb... very dumb... big, stupid, over-sized weapons, retarded gameplay. I actually agree with Phil here...
