The final cutscene where Ichiban is carrying Eiji through the crowd, Ichiban isn't staring down the adversity for his own sake, those people aren't even mad at HIM, they want Eiji. But, Ichiban is helping Eiji out as well as he can, because he's Ichiban. At the beginning of the game when the big expose costs Ichiban and his friends their jobs? Ichiban is more pissed over Nanba and Adachi losing their jobs, and partly blames himself over it. DSP? All of his adversity, he only cares how it affects him. His reputation, his money, his enjoyment. He only brings up his wife and stream as victims of 'da trolls' in passing, the former as a shield and the latter as lip service.
DSP forcing a weird emotional element into this playthrough was so awkward. It's like he needs every game to be "meaningful" when it really can just be fun to play. His Yakuza runs are such a slog.

He then rushes through the story because of low views & tips, but doesn't drop it despite that.

Hell even Akane felt like making up for past mistakes choosing to save Lani. So the fact that instead of focus on "Hey people can do some pretty stupid and shitty things in life. However you can always improve and be a better person." Doesn't seem to really register with him says all that needs to be said about DSP as a person
I love that the prestreams/unrecorded segments are being included to show his true thoughts of the game, no doubt he'll put this game in his "best of 2024" while ff7 rebirth will be in his worst all because "MAH WIG DOOD"

You can admire the goodness and nobility of his character, but he was still a criminal and an outlaw, and those choices have consequences. Phil likewise continues to be hated because of the litany of crappy things he's done and said in the past--a list to which he keeps adding on an almost daily basis.

Then while playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2004) he confirms that though his wife is sick, she will still be making dinner.
