Asriel Hyperdeath Dreemurr Fair enough, I guess it also depends on your play style. I find running thru an area to be more effective in Dark souls 3 than in the first one. First one I take my time to get to point A to B. But in ds3 it's easier and faster to just ignore the enemies and go to boss. Depends on the area I'm in though, some enemies if they're just too in the way I'll slow down and kill. I'm not talented enough to be a speed runner, hell I haven't even beat the games yet, have about 20 hours in each.

Well it doesn't help that he's rolling in the direction the attack is projecting instead of to the sides. Think of the area of effect of the attack as a rectangle, and he's rolling the long way out of it instead of the short way.

I recently played dark souls 1,2,3 with their dlcs for the first time and didn't die as many times as dsp had and I only used swords and shields no spells (only used heal) and only 1 time I used summon cause I thought alonne boss was timed too
You know, Phil’s hugest issue by far with the entire series has been managing his stamina. He mashes the eternal crap out of R1 and then immediately gets combo’d to death because he can’t move out of the way, literally every single encounter he’s in. That and backing directly into obstacles and complaining about the camera.
He’s utterly incapable of grasping that the camera is essentially a game object floating behind the player so, indeed, if you back into a wall bad shit will happen.

As a big souls fan - Demons' Souls through Dark Souls III - I personally feel that Scholar is the most difficult. Not normal Dark Souls II, but Scholar. So lovely watching Phil go through this lol.
Especially the first playthrough of ds2 when you don’t really understand the “proper” way to handle each area.
