Your facial expressions and comments when tasting the Yoder pork butt declared the winner for me. 👍🏼
Hey buddy thanks for stopping by
great video.. I almost bought the Yoder but the place I went to sold out right before I got there. I ended up with a Memphis. Subscribed. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks Jeff
Man i wasnt even sure that the Yoder was even turned on. That LSG is awesome. Smoke everywhere!! Going to be putting my order in for one in the next few days then wait. Gonna be awesome
Good choice! you will love it
Lone Star was rolling smoke every time I saw it in the video. Did not see much coming from the yoder. What mode did you have the yoder in I see they have a plus minus 5 and and 25 mode
Great job Joe!
Thanks
Could you do a comparison video on the smoker performance? Which one heats up faster, more steady temp, cooking chamber temp versus what the temp is set at, etc. Thanks.
Dead broke bbq has a video that discusses that some, I think it was his first cool video.
The lsg intentionally has temp swings built in to ctreat different types of smoke to better replicate the action of an offset.
Are there going to be anymore of these comparisons? After a year+, I'm sure you have a favorite.
I just ordered one 20x42 Pallet Smoker from Lone Star Grillz :)
I was looking at his grills for a while :) finally decided to get one ☝️:)
A year later how do you like the Lonestar? I’m considering making my order this week.
Another good comparison Joe. So far nothing to make me switch from my Yoder lol.
You know that’s something I need to test
is the yoder even on. I used to have one and I always wondered myself lol. The LSG is just pumping
Very cool video Joe! I've never cooked on the Yoder, but I can tell you....If the Lone Star Grillz Pellet smoker cooks anything like my Lone Star Grillz 20x36 offset, that pork butt was Fantastic!! It looked like a tie to me too! Both looked great! 👌🤤 Good job!👍 Cheers Brother!! 🍻🍻👍🔥😎
Thank you so much buddy
@@SouthernCoastalCookingTM You're welcome, Keep on Rockin' Brother!! 🍻👍
Would you sell your Yoder to purchase a LSG? Just curious as I have a older model Yoder and have been looking at the LSG pellet smokers quite a bit! Thank you!!
?
Good stuff. I like how you just toss the butt in and leave it how it lands. 🤣
Which smoker do you prefer this far? Both look awesome, but I'd probably pick the Lonestar because it appears to put out more smoke & probably won't have the paint issues.
I have a lot more testing to do before I can decide
@@SouthernCoastalCookingTM keep us posted!!!
Any further update?
Yoder fixed the paint issues a few years back

One on the right looks to me to have more bark and more of the ring from the smoke penetrating the meat but they both look great!
I guess that one's the Lone Star you said
thanks for watching
yes it seem the LSG pellet cooker puts out more smoker for sure.
next you may want to do a blind fold taste and talk on which has the better smoke flavor, tenderness, etc........
Good idea
Good stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Thanks
Both butts did look great! I like your videos...thx for taking the time to make these, pls disregard any naysayers. Did you order the charcoal grate option with the LSG pellet?
Yes I have that charcoal great option I have not used it yet
@7:41 please consider a leg of lamb would be interesting in seeing your spin on it.
Leg of lamb is not cheap these days for sure
notice on all your testing in comparison of the lone star and Yoder the lone star produces more smoke, would you say the lone star gives you a better smoke taste on your meat
yes more smoke with LSG
@@SouthernCoastalCookingTM from what i read is that the yoder doesnt smoke near as much as others because the computer is designed to stay away from the nasty bellowing smoke like seen in the first few seconds of the video. Seems to me the yoder was producing thinner clean smome compared to the lonestar. Maybe im wrong lol. Both have a heat source and same pellets.
@@kdglock4491 both are good cookers buy either and you will be happy just better smoke on the LSG
@@kdglock4491 This is exactly what I am trying to understand everyone talks about the smoke everyone also talks about clean smoke. Is the Lone Star not clean smoke?
@@19Clutch69 my Yoder will have light blue smoke the whole time it is on at 150 and lumberjack pellets. Just sold my gmg today which seem to produce a heavier smoke profile than the Yoder. Looking at placing a order for a LSG. The LSG just smokes constantly! For me it would just make me that much more hungry!
Joe I'd to see you do a Wild Boar Pork Butt and compare how it cooks and the tenderness and taste to farm raised Hogs.
That would be wonderful. I’d just have to get ahold of a wild pork butt
Love your videos. How many whiskey on the rocks did you have before you started the pork? LOL.
I may have had a beer or 12
@@SouthernCoastalCookingTM you look a little heavier man and thats not being man, just please take care of yourself and stay healthy for your family.
Lol

This thread put a smile on my face. I love humans. We’re so ridiculous
Are you noticing any big difference in pellet consumption?
not really
Now I'm hungry for some pulled pork got one in the freezer I'm gonna bust out tomorrow.
With mustard style bbq sauce nothing beats it.
Oh yeah I love a mustard sauce as well
That lone star is SMOKING every time you open that lid, the Yoder……not so much
Yea I notice the same thing.
It sure smokes
Whole chicken & Dino ribs up next joe?
Good ideas
A tie? C’mon man, I know the LSG put more smoke flavor in than the Yoder.
sounds like you was in the bottle a little heavy lol
I said the same thing 🤣
Yeah maybe
@@SouthernCoastalCookingTM that's how it should be when your grillin' 😁
Do you ask your own family members who drink the same thing? Or is it just easier to question and judge people via the internet?? 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
@@Jordanfiend361 noone was knocking him for tipping a few lol ... we all do the same thing lol
Putting meat on at midnight….it’s normally a comical event especially on a Friday night.
Subtitles please…
I could say how nice and yummy your….. food is but I’ll refrain. Seriously, looks amazing. I feel dirty everything I type out. Nice video. Time for me to stop. Peace out! 🤣
Thanks for stopping by and for the complements
