Hello ladies I'm using the Lunette cup for a few months now, and in order to get it out easier, I cut the stem a little but not completely, which allows me to grab the stem and pull it down a little, then using my pointing finger I create some air space to reduce the suction effect. I have the diva cup now (my second one). I find that when I have just begun my period the cup opens easily however when my flow becomes heavier the cup stays collapsed and isn’t so easy to open. I have a feeling it is because my vaginal canal becomes engorged and I have very strong pelvic muscles. My blue lunette is coming as I have been feeling for a while that I need a firmer option. Oh my gosh I'm using the lunette as my first menstrual cup, and your experience is exactly mine. It makes me feel a lot better about my struggles with getting it out. Getting it in I find to be pretty easy and I kind of like that it suctions itself into place (for me).
You're so helpful as usual! I'm thinking of ditching my diva cup which makes me sad since its so expensive, but sometimes it leaks, causes me discomfort, hurts to remove and because of all those reasons I wouldn't use it everyday during my period and would always have a pad on just in case, so I'm not necessarily helping the environment. I've had my good days with it, but I want to have a fail-safe menstrual cup, which I'm hoping is the Lunette.
I suggest trying different folds if you have any physical pains or issues opening the cup. I just got the Lily cup after 3 years experience of using them and I had difficulty the 2nd time inserting. I was able to find a forum that suggested the half diamond fold and it has worked perfectly every time so far. Another big factor is stress and building tension up in your muscles. I used the c fold the 1st time and didn't have issues but I was also excited and not in a hurry. The second time I was rushed and it was early in the morning (I'm not a morning person). We all should also make note of our bodies and how they are working/feeling when using cups. This mode of thinking has greatly improved my usage of cups in a general sense. Yahweh bless everyone that reads this!
Try a Me Luna... it's amazing! They have different end types i.e. no tip, stem, ring and ball. They also have a variety of sizes (s, m and l) for a perfect fit and colors to choose from, as well as how sturdy you want it (soft, classic, sport).
I have Diva Cup model 1 & the Lunette Cup model 2. I snipped off the stem from both cups, because it caused irritation with prolonged wear. I like the DC but sometimes I feel like its too long at certain times of my cycle; which is why I got the LC. When I chose a model for the LC I was uncertain of just how heavy my flow was, because in the past there were days when id have to change a super sized tampon every 30 minutes. So I ended up choosing model 2 in fear that model 1 wouldnt hold enough. However LC model 2 is TOO firm (making my cramps intense from the pressure it caused) and as you said that seal is intense. Yes, I know to break the seal before removing but the rim was too harsh on my for g-spot upon removal. Inserting and removing the DC is easy. Whereas inserting the LC is easy enough (it doesnt fold as small as the DC can), but removal always caused discomfort because of the firm rim. Im considering getting LC model 1 hearing its a much softer silicone than model 2, but that wont be for some time. Plus, with my latest period the DC has caused no discomfort so Ill wait and see if that continues to stand true. P.S. I use kegals to position the cup and have had no need to use my finger to push it in further once inserted. Kegals also help with removal.
I wish I had that control with using kegal muscles to pull cup up, the only thing I can do to bring it down. Other than that it’s stays in place until I remove it.
You always make me feel better. I am on my second cycle with a menstrual cup and I have that very Lunette cup. It is driving me BANANAS. I want so badly for this to work, and i’ve Watched your videos multiple times, tri d multiple folds, but every time I manage to get it in, I can never get it to open up, or if it does open, I cannot get it to go up the way it should (and it hurts!) I have only gotten it in successfully four times in two period cycles and I will spend 30 minutes at a time trying. It’s exhausting. It’s good to know that even you found the Lunette cup slightly difficult to insert. Maybe I need to try another cup? I hate that though. Who wants to spend another $40 on something you’re not sure will work! But anyway, thanks so much for the videos!!
I'm in love with the June small cup! I have a heavy flow so I have always tried a regular to large cup. I do have to change it more often but the fit and feel is perfect! It just might be my goldilocks cup. The Diva cup was my first cup as well and it was good and I didn't have any leaks, but I could feel it a bit to much. The regular soft saalt cup was the small feel. I think I just need the smaller size cups and just have to change them more often!
oh its weird that you mentioned that the seal wasnt as strong on the diva cause the seal on mine is really strong. I have trouble taking it out, and i was looking for other cups!!! thank you for the review though :-)
I have a Ruby cup and a Super Jennie, both size 1. I got the Ruby cup first, and learned a lot with it. I decided to buy the Super Jennie because it was bigger capacity-wise, so it could hold more of my heavier flow days. I also have a very high cervix, and the Ruby cup would travel up so high that I would have to do some crazy contortions to get it out. I find the Super Jennie to be a bit longer, but the stem is shorter, making it difficult to grab and pull on those odd days when it's so far up I can barely grab it! I don't panic, because I know I can get either cup out eventually - sometimes it just takes longer than other times.
The Super Jennie is the most convenient, because of my heavy flow and high cervix. I like the Ruby cup (smooth texture, easily pops open), but it's just not big enough to handle my heavy days. If you think you've got a heavy period (you soak through overnight pads or tampons easily) and a high cervix, then go with the Super Jennie. But if you have a smaller period or a lower cervix, then the Ruby cup would be better.
I haven't tried the Lunette. The Put A Cup In It website has a comparison chart putacupinit.com/chart/ and it looks like the Lunette is slightly longer than the Super Jennie, which length would be good for a high cervix. It's easier to grab and remove a longer cup, and I've heard that the Lunette has great grips on the stem.
Thank you for these videos, new to the cup this cycle, went with the Saalt cup, very similar to the lunette. I like it so far, have trouble with it rising high, I must have a high cervix. But these videos give me more confidence. Thank you!!
My cervix is of to the left and I've had 4 kids and my period is so heavy i almost want to call off on the first 2 days. I have the pixie cup and period panties and pads and back up. My gyno says periods gets worse after 30
I just got my lunette cup today! I have two more weeks until I have my period, do you have any suggestions on anything I can do to prepare beforehand? When should I boil it? If I wake up one day and my period has already started, will I have time to sterilize and insert it? Will it leak etc.
Boil before insertion. I use a silicon cup sterilizer. I put it on my microwave for 2:30m and it’s ready. I just drain that water and leave the sterilizer cup holding the cup to cool down. If you don’t have that, use a pot but be careful so it doesn’t burn at the bottom. Some people use a whisk. Insertion tip: Try the punchdown fold, but rotate the cup so that little rim it’s towards your back, so you can push the cup and facilitate it to open. You can feel when the suction hits you, when it doesn’t, I push it down as I would do when pooping and pinch the cup. I can feel when the cup opens and suctions. (I have a soft cup so I need to manipulate it more to open, or leave it there until it naturally pops). To remove: be calm. Do a pooping motion, pinch the bottom of the cup and remove. You can throw the blood in the toilet and wash it in the sink with water and/ or with some intimate wash, with good ph and no smells, very neutral. There is no problem in inserting after your period started. Just wipe the blood that is deposited there, and if you are not certain of how it’s positioned, use a liner on the first days. Ps: just noticed now this comment was made 3y ago. Hope it worked for you and will keep the comment just in case someone needs the info anyway lol
Agree I find the lunette cup more thick and NOT so soft as Organicup but I hope it Will get softer in time! It unfolds really fast and is difficult to folded as it is incerted
Hi. I have tried the cup ones but it did not feel well so i didnot use it for a long time ( because i had the mirena iud). Now that i took out the mirena iud i started again with rhe cup, but no matter how or what i do it will not pop open. I have to take it almost complete ou for it to pop open, but than i can not insert it. I tried different method of folding to bring it in, nothing helps. I think my canal is to narrow and i have the smallest cup.
I found that it was really easy to get a seal for lunette cup as compared to the lily cup. I have a high cervix so I bought the lily cup and it worked well for the first cycle but apparently my cervix moves downwards towards the end of my period (causing cramps as the cervix was too near the entrance of lily cup). I've never been able to tell if there's a seal for lily. It always feels crushed but there was no leakage. Inserting and removing was a breeze since the base was so close to the vaginal opening. Then, I tried lunette (smallest size). Inserting was a breeze too but my first time removing it was traumatic because I couldn't grab the base as easily, which lead to tension and muscle clenching, which means the cup isn't coming out. Tried again when I've calmed down and removal was fine. It took longer than lily but I could remove it within 5 minutes after 2 tries (poop flex, relax, grab, wiggle, pinch base to break seal and pull). Suction is excellent as mentioned in the video. Had leakage but that should be due to my mistake of leaving it in beyond 12 hours. The cup wasn't full but I guessed the seal weakened? Not sure.
So here is a review I get from Amazon. Can you please tell me if this happens to you? "- The Lunette has larger suction holes at the rim. Also easier to keep clean. I always had to clean out the Diva's suction holes with a sewing needle because they were so tiny. - The Diva cup has a really pronounced rim where the top measuring line is. This was also hard to clean and would easily collect 'build-up' under that ledge. The Lunette is much more streamlined and doesn't have any dramatic ledges or crevices."

You don't have to take it out! It's actually pretty difficult in the beginning to get it out, because of the suction. I use the OrganiCup and I love it, it takes some getting used to especially the inserting, but it's so convenient!
I've been using the diva cup for almost a year and I love it, but I've been interested in trying some of the other ones. My only worry with this cup is that because it's a tad shorter I'll have a harder time getting it out because I still struggle with getting the diva cup out sometimes.. Still gonna give it a try I think! Love your videos girl!
yes this cup is definitely shorter and it certainly is a bit more difficult to grab, my "poop flex" technique doesn't work as well with this cup but the suction on this Lunette cup is great and I never second guess my inserts once it's inside! :) Definitely all just personal preference between these two brands
+sarahhtranTV Wouldn't it have been easier to insert and/or remove with the little handle in it? Seems to me that it's part of the intent of the design. Do you happen to know if there's a companion product/tool, for any cup, to help with insertion? If I were to try a cup I'd want something to assist me with that process, to insure I can get it placed properly without taking to long and getting ultra frustrated and giving up. Thx!
tdginter I tried it with the stem on the cup (with both Lunette & Diva) and found that I could slightly feel the stem near the opening, so that is why I snipped them off. I can take them out just fine, the Lunette cup is just a little bit of a further reach is all :) Unfortunately I do not know of tool or product that would assist in insertion. It really isn't all that bad and just takes a bit of practice and time :)
My diva cup started ripping from the ring looks like it was bitten lmao 🤣 no but really i only used it once cycle and now is braking apart from the ring is scarry i wanna try the lunett cup
Julieta Gonzalez If you're buying from anywhere other than the company, check that it's not a cheap copy/rip off. Sounds like the quality was poor on the one you have.
I really want to try the Lunette cup! Being a teen though, it’s a lot of money for me. $40 is isn’t it? My mom thinks it’s disgusting but I think I would enjoy it.
It's hard for one person to review a cup as everyone is so different. Hopefully no one watches this and assumes a cup would or wouldn't be for them because of your experience. I love the diva cup but might try the Lunette cup soon!
I cant buy these brands in India .. so my question is which cup has better suction ... the thick silicon cup or thin silicon cup ... plz tell me based on that I'll buy whatever is available in market

s731s What do you mean? My comment was an answer to the comment above... Keeping a bit of the stem to be able to grab the cup...? Well, you don't pull the cup by the stem, right? So it didn't make any sense...
EvaMariaLotte sorry for any confusion, I didn't mean for that :) I guess since I've never used the cup before I should shut up LOL😂 Basically I did actually think that that's what the stem was for. You had said regarding the comment above you that you didn't understand them, but when I read their comment I understood what they were trying to say, that's all.
s731s No problem and no offense taken... I'm using this cup for ten years already and sometimes I read online that women were in pain when they tried to remove it and this is basically a result of pulling the cup by the stem... The stem is not a necessary part of the cup, this is why you can just cut it off...
Do you recommend trying the lunette cup or diva cup when starting off, I know it just depends on your body but for someone scared of what could happen which one is less intimidating but still holds it all
Kate Rose The diva cup folds down super small. It's my first and only cup, and I find it works well. I'm a fairly petite person with a low cervix. Tampons never worked for me, but I love the diva cup! The only thing is, if you plan to leave the stem completely or partially intact, I hear the flat grip on the lunette cup is easier to grab.

yes this cup is definitely shorter and it certainly is a bit more difficult to grab, my "poop flex" technique doesn't work as well with this cup but the suction on this Lunette cup is great and I never second guess my inserts once it's inside!
I can take them out just fine, the Lunette cup is just a little bit of a further reach is all :)
Unfortunately I do not know of tool or product that would assist in insertion. It really isn't all that bad and just takes a bit of practice and time :)
sarahhtranTV a
My diva cup started ripping from the ring looks like it was bitten lmao 🤣 no but really i only used it once cycle and now is braking apart from the ring is scarry i wanna try the lunett cup
Julieta Gonzalez If you're buying from anywhere other than the company, check that it's not a cheap copy/rip off. Sounds like the quality was poor on the one you have.
Sounds like a fake Diva cup
I really want to try the Lunette cup! Being a teen though, it’s a lot of money for me. $40 is isn’t it? My mom thinks it’s disgusting but I think I would enjoy it.
TRACY WYKES thank you!
Does is still feel comfortable when you have to take a pee?
yes, you don't feel it at all while peeing
Yes, no worries.
my preference goes to the divacup which is better
It's hard for one person to review a cup as everyone is so different. Hopefully no one watches this and assumes a cup would or wouldn't be for them because of your experience. I love the diva cup but might try the Lunette cup soon!

Hey! I'm using the Indian brand called 'Boondh'. I have faced no problems with it and it's pretty good! It's around 600 rupees.
Could you review the sckoon cup? :)
I was watching this then u dropped my phone on my eye ooooowwwwwwww
Haha thanks for sharing! Hope your eye is okay, you should look into getting a pop socket! haha really helps.
how do i cut the stem?
ada efody use scissors
Diva cup is for woman with high cervix
kopec82 I have a low cervix and I use a diva cup model one with a trimmed stem. It works perfectly for me!
Lilly H I found it worked perfectly for me and then all of a sudden it isn’t 😣 I have a low cervix and I think it’s time for me to say good bye
plus lunette cups are from finland.. torille kaikki suomalaiset
torilla tavataan
what size did you get ?
Amanda H I know right?! She intros by saying she got the regular, normal size. I read through the comments and she got the small.
Michelle Nofziger She probably said regular thinking of tampon sizes since smaller tampons are called regular and larger are called super.
Michelle Nofziger thanks! I don't use tampons so a "regular" &"super" etc don't mean anything to me .
She got size 1
You chose size one?
Yes indeed!
Thank you. :)
Why are you pushing it up? Cups sit lower than tampons you shouldn’t have to push it up.
You should've kept a little bit of the stem so you wouldn't have to reach as far to grab the Lunette
That doesn't make any sense...
EvaMariaLotte it made to me for what it's worth 😌

What do you mean? My comment was an answer to the comment above... Keeping a bit of the stem to be able to grab the cup...? Well, you don't pull the cup by the stem, right? So it didn't make any sense...
EvaMariaLotte sorry for any confusion, I didn't mean for that :)
I guess since I've never used the cup before I should shut up LOL😂
Basically I did actually think that that's what the stem was for. You had said regarding the comment above you that you didn't understand them, but when I read their comment I understood what they were trying to say, that's all.

No problem and no offense taken... I'm using this cup for ten years already and sometimes I read online that women were in pain when they tried to remove it and this is basically a result of pulling the cup by the stem... The stem is not a necessary part of the cup, this is why you can just cut it off...
Which one is better for a dancer with a medium cervix?
deranged? ? Go to a pacii period cup quiz, and mention that you are fairly active
okay obviously not what I was looking for...
can you sleep using the cup?
yes!
Lynn Villezcas For sure!! Is the best!!
Lynn Villezcas yes
Yes !! And I loved. You can try !! Is awesome !!
