I've been using the cup for 13 years and they are wonderful. I have extremely heavy periods, so bad that I will soak through a supermax tampon in an hour and a half. With a cup I can make it 8 hours meaning I only have to change it three times a day. It's so nice being able to get through my shift at work without running to the bathroom because there's blood dripping down my legs. It's saved me from unnecessary embarrassing situations. On plus side they don't dry me out like tampons would, leaving me itchy.

I've been using a cup for 6 months probably. I always feel the seal breaking on my heavy days. I switched to a medium sized cup and even now, my cup leaks even before filling completely. please advice.

@@MM-tv5bs please get a lube and apply around the edges, relax your muscles, squat and play around your vagina, deep your fingers inside and ensure it fully opens, it’s okay, it’s your vagina, get comfortable try and push like a woman giving birth to ensure your hands can touch the tip, make sure it pops up fully before you leave the bathroom, it’s the best for heavy bleeders like us, wear à sanitary pad overnight under as well bedtime for extra protection.

I just wanna add that while taking it out, you should push on one side to get the air out first to break the suction, otherwise you are vacuum pulling on your cervix

  • @blackbutterfly00

I have been trying everything possible with my cup to open and on my last period I accidentaly tryed something that is making my cup open every single time on the first try- put it in your favorite fold, insert HALF way- so half of the cup is still outside of your vulva. Release it and wiggle it to open. Now just pust it by the pin inside to the place where you place it usually. It is much easyer to let it open while it is still partially outside so you can play with it with fingers. Hope it helps ❤

Great short vid! Love the cup I have 4, just a piece of advice from experience: never use a new cup during a flight, I did and during a 9 hour flight, I felt it was leaking, maybe due to the pressure on the plane or God knows, I was in the tiny bathroom on board my legs were cramping, couldn't grip it bc the stem was too short and slippery nor break the suction so finally the cup sliped out of my hand and landed in the floor 😣😭 the room looked like a murder scene, I had to wipe floors, walls and toilet, put the cup in paper in my pocket and finish my trip with a cushion of toilet paper between my legs. So stick to your reliable good old cup for long trips😅😋

It leaks even when it's not full
Cup is properly opened and has suction inside
So why it leaks when cup is only (about to) half full
It feels like cervix might be sitting inside the cup that's why it leaks

My periods are so consistently heavy-- usually day two, I am rushing to the bathroom (using ultra absorbency tampons) every 15-30 minutes- urgently. I use heavy flow pads AND heavy flow period undies in conjunction with my tampons. I end up going through about a full box of 42 tampons with each period and sleeping (although MUCH MUCH better now with my Bambodies and overnight pads) are usually disturbed by needing to get up multiple times. It's messy, it's inconvenient and especially working in healthcare when I am not always able to just run to the potty any time I need to, it's embarrassing worrying if I am having an emergency that will result in leakage visible to others OR just having to keep going to the bathroom all the time with my little bag of girl supplies- for ten minutes- as I change things and clean up. I am kinda grossed out by the thought of having blood freely swishing around inside me, but... I am really tired of this inconvenience during the first 2-3 days of my periods and should just give these a try. WITH backup protection, just in case.

Girl, I have the same flow problem. One Tampax Ultra every 30-45 minutes and I ALWAYS have to have a backup pad. I'm a server and it's just not practical to go to the bathroom every half hour to change my whole setup. I got a Diva Cup three days ago after a coworker turned me on to then. Best decision I ever made. One bathroom break during my shift. I wore a pair of period panties the first day, but last night I slept with no back up, no leaks and no getting up to change. I woke up dry at 6AM.. I'm absolutely giddy right now. You should try a cup ASAP; they're amazing for us heavy flow girls.

I just hate everything about getting on my period 😭 sometimes I think about taking the parts out completely so I won't get them anymore but I know that's not healthy for my body so that's why I haven't done it.. I use tampons at the moment for many many years. been hearing about these cups for a few years now and I just wasn't even probably comfortable enough about the idea to give it a deeper research unt now I guess. It seems these cups are very environmental sustainable And also in some ways I guess better for a woman's sensitive body.. But to apply these alone it makes me feel sick 😭😭😭😭 and I have a really bad OCD thinking what if these cups would actually make it worse for me as an experience and also as the hygiene. I don't leave my nails long but no matter how many time I wash them and I keep my nails short and clean I still think in the back of my mind what if the remaining bacterias would have access to my sensitive part through my nails.. Because the risk of this happening increases alot when using cups and have to probably empty it few times a day especially at the beginning when you just started using them.. And also the silicone itself.. I know they are medical silicones but still I'm pretty sure they're not 0risk.. And these ideas + the whe messy progress is really putting me off and making me very indecisive 😒

I would use lube for sure, and you might not be doing a fold that works for you. I tried the C fold and it was EXTREMELY painful, but now I'm doing the punch down and it feels a lot better.

I tried a lot of menstrual cups , but all of them have a common problem, my cups tend to slide up in my vaginal canal as a result of which they start overflowing even when half full , my physical activity majorly includes regular household chores , walking and gentle streching . What do you suggest for this ? I have tried changing sizes also but same issue pops up always . TIA

Definitely the squatting method works best lol and dont let go until you rotate and make sure its suctioned in. I realized i was able to go in further if i didnt let go of the cup to soon . Hope it helps

@@sleepilatanja I don't think so. The leaking suggests the blood is going around the cup, if one gets a bigger size, won't there be more folds for the blood to go around? Maybe I'm getting it wrong. Have the same issue.

I want to use a cup but have tried two and they both tend to slip down while wearing them. I’ve had two kids, is it possible my pelvic floor is too week to wear one? I originally thought that didn’t matter since people with multiple kids can wear one successfully.

By 2, do you mean size or brand, because from whst I hear, there are 2 sizes, meaning 1is for people who've never hads and the other for those who have kids.

I’ve been using cups for a year and more, I bought like 4 different ones and all of them leaks, especially if i lay down. Am tired and I wanna give up…
Can the problem be that my cervix is in the cup? Like there no space between my cervix and the cup, so the cup covers it!?

I am turning sixteen this year . I started using menstrual cup from past eight months. It used to leak in the first few months a lot and it still leaks sometimes if not placed correctly. I have been facing this problem that my menstrual cup never saves me from leaking in my first night of my periods each month. It's not only about leaking but not a single droplet is collected in my cup in the first and second night. Everything just spills . I searched solution for this problem a lot but nothing worked . It's works well during day but not during night. I hate using menstrual cup in night.
Can someone please suggest me a solution?

As I insert menstrual cup it goes smoothly and makes a seal (which I know by tugging)but as I start to move or walk or run it breaks it's seal on its own and make a mess ,I have been having vaginal queefing for a while now and I suffer from constipation as well ,I searched about it and it says it happens because vaginal muscle are not strong enough to keep holding the cup and suggestions were to start kegal exercises to strengthen pelvic floor muscles.IS there any one suffering like that ?any suggestions what to do alone with kegal .

Hey- @khanmary8116 I had mild vaginal prolapse with my last child and experience something similar. What has helped me is to do deep abdominal, pelvic floor exercises. I don’t know what your mobility situation is like, but these tend to be very easy. Just be consistent with them. It’s an easy RUclips or Google search to find exercises ;) Hope that helps you!

Now I’m afraid of leaking although being on birth control I don’t bleed like when I wasn’t on birth control. Really need help on making sure it’s popped out as I think mines bent a bit inward up front 🥹😭
