yeah me too, altho lately i've found my self boosting all 6 dbs on the high end before i start mixing, it opens up everything really nice, even raw vocals.
It is a pre-master chain. The signal path is left to right, INPUT - EQ - MULTIBAND DYNAMICS (PERHAPS OTT) - TO LIMITER. By default the plugin gives you 5 db gain increase on the LIMITER And the Multiband Dynamics processor is also by default engaged. IT NEEDS STUDIED ON HOW TO MARKET A PLUGIN.
Using the Sidechain for stem mastering is snazzy, but that literally will work only if this is the only plugin on your master chain. So you'd have to commit. If you have any other plugins on the master, those obviously you'd lose in the processing. Technically tho, if you're able to achieve a great mix with just this on the master, that means that you're a good mixing engineer already and the plugin isn't the thing mixing for you.

How should i start my gain staging into this plugin? Lets say i open up my project, pull all of my faders down, and slap The God Particle on my master bus. I generally start with the Kick/Bass and Snare. To get the right gain staging that is optimal for the plugin, how do i approach this? Should i set the kick to some arbitrary number? If i start with just the kick and snare, do i raise the gain on them until i hit green target box? Seems like a cool plugin im about to download the demo.
Rule of thumb is you mix into the limiter. Set where you want your bass to hit at then mix everything around that value. Note not every 808 is the same so don’t think you have to have the 808 set at a specific db because kick samples are not the same and if you have to have a good relationship between the bass and kick
Turn faders down, then bring your bass up till you’re hitting green indicators. Then start adding one by one. Tbh i just worry about getting the bass to hit green first and bring everything in without even seeing the indicators, then go back to check after im satisfied with all the levels and i usually am hitting the meters 👍🏻
@@georgetmusic What does it mean to put in on the stereo bus? It only affect the sides? Im using it on the master in Ableton and its hitting everything, is this the intended use?
I hate the default settings on this thing. Who cares what *his* settings are when people hit the 2-bus with such a wide range of gain?
