Okay, a few things about the Lipskit. You should have received some kind of instruction somewhere to tell you to warm up the tubes with a hairdryer, then to prime them by pumping them on a paper towel a few times. The pigments inside the tubes can condense in shipping. You should also have received a silicone mixing stick, which helps tons and is much longer than the little brush. Also, make sure you clean everything up with Grapeseed Oil or Olive Oil! Hope this info helps!
I may be the only one who needs this, but I sure would love a very basic makeup tutorial - the order you use things, why, and how. Perhaps a simple day-wear version, then how to make it snazzier for a special occasion. Thanks for considering this!
I wish they'd take this "printer" idea for makeup and move away from lipstick and instead into foundation. I would be SO THRILLED if a company would do like color consultations, recommend a base, a toner, & a hue adjuster & give you a "number of drops of each" road map to start & then you can experiment. My issues are always if the undertone is good, it's too dark. If it isn't too dark, it's too orange on me. If it's pale enough and not too orange, it's usually too grey when I actually need it to be slightly green to cancel out all the pink in my face. It gets annoying and so wasteful to need 2 foundations, a green mixer, and sometimes even a solid white foundation just to add opacity to finally be able to get the right shade.
I used to have major issues finding concealer or foundation because it made me too orange and at the time I didn't know people could have a neutral undertone. I also have a very slightly warm undertone in summer
I noticed my lashes always fall with mascara! Its so bad to recurl with mascara on! I know a lot of people HATE water proof mascara but it helps your lashes stay up if you have lashes like us!! You just have to be patient and use a certain eye remover and it comes off so easily and doesnt ruin your eyelashes!!!
I wanted that dumb lipstick maker thing to work so much. rofl Instead I'm absolutely adding that mascara to my to try list. So, hey, still a win! And, yes, I love the simple makeup testing vids. I've found some fun stuff through these.
Yeah I was thinking the exact same, she's so used to having brighter undereyes her perception of the colour match is skewed because it looks spot on for her actual skin tone.
If I remember, they make cool and warm tone bundles for the lipstick maker thing. Also, remember that it won't be an exact match to the printout because of slight differences in pigments against whatever machine printed out the instructions.
“Hate that a lot” lol. I totally get that. That was my first impression, too. I’m still on the fence with it. I can go over the lipskit in more detail if y’all want. I ordered everything they make and it’s been an adventure. There’s a steep learning curve. And it’s messy. Kind of fun. Kind of frustrating.
When curling my lashes I like to warm up the curler just a bit. Either in my hand or a 1-2 second blast from a hairdryer, it's like a curling iron but for your lashes! Just be careful to not get it too hot! I also use the shiseido eyelash curler & love it!
My guess for the lipstick is the blue is a cool tone blue and the red and yellow are warm toned so anytime the blue is added it creates a grayness to the color. A warm tone blue would probably fix that. For the desaturated color (the 2nd one you tried) there has to be a tiny bit of black for it to be desaturated. White lightens and brightens, black darkens, but gray desaturates. I bet each color/ tone dispenses the same amount so to get the color you actually want, you'd need to either manually put in the tiny amount of black you need, or make a double or triple batch with only one pump of black. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you for truly reviewing the lipstick custom shade contraception. I was debating on buying it, but I won't now 😂. I truly appreciate your honesty. ❤
The instructions to get it primed are very important or it just doesn't work correctly sadly. It is alot of work but for someone who loves lipstick in multiple colors, it's great!!
The merit concealer/foundation sticks are really nice. Took a little getting use to definitely don’t over apply or it can feel heavy but it’s a great product a little goes along way.
Hi Rachel I’d love to see you do waterproof mascaras. Maybe waterproof vs regular to see if it’s worth it? I always smudge regular and waterproof versions often gets clumpy
And waterproof mascaras are often only available in black! I love a good black-brown, brown or forest green mascara, but can never find a waterproof version.
@louisacoote2337 yes!! I used maybelline lash falsies waterproof black brown for a while however I don't like the curved lid for bottom lashes. It also made the bottom lashes just sort of long vs full too if that makes any sense!
Since the lipstick printer didn't work out, what if you tried it more freestyle? Danessa Myricks has an incredible range of lip, cheek, and eye pigments, including primary yellow, primary red, primary blue, black, and white! They work beautifully and everyone is sleeping on what you can do with them!
Omg today is the first time I'm testing the Fenty stick. So far it is pretty good. Best stick foundation I have ever used. I still prefer the Nars reflecting foundation more. Nothing has unseated that foundation. I wish it wasn't so spensy though.
With regards to the lipstick, you know when u get a new foundation and you have to pump it a hundred times before it'll pump on its own easily, same goes for pumping the lipstick. Also, there should be more instructions that should have said warm it up with a hair dryer for the first use only to get all the product down the tube after being upside down or sideways in delivery, and then you still have to pump like you would anything else to get it going. Just for the first go around. I really hope you redo this for your audience, correctly. So the company doesn't take a hit for it, I guess if they're small business anyways.
I've never seen anyone struggle using the lipstick maker before. And it always looks like the chart. I've seen user on tiktok let Alexa pick number (from 1-5) on each color to get a mystery shade. 😊
I have that Maybelline mascara and I LOVE it. It’s not a dramatic length, but my lashes look great after a few coats. And my favorite thing is how resistant it is. I can go the whole night without insane smudging.
Hi Rachel, I love when you try mascaras! I was just wondering if when you test them if you could do a closer up shot of your lashes after you apply the mascara! Love you ☺️
Omg. I have been struggling with eye shadow forever. I have watched a million tutorials and every single time it ends up looking like Rach's first attempt with the shadow (before fixing off camera). My eyes are very similar and I need to search for how she actually makes it look good!
There’s actually a decent amount of product in the Fenty blur stick. 9 gms . The Nudestix blurring foundation that I use has just over 6. And it looked beautiful on you.
I have stick straight lashes, so after I curl them(I heat my lash curler lightly with my blow dryer) I use a waterproof mascara. That seems to keep my lashes curled. It sets them in place.
There is a waterproof version of that Maybelline mascara that will hold a curl. She's quite the unicorn to find in the US. She is also quite the gremlin to get off, but she will hold a curl.
21:48 all of these make your own lipstick things seem like they are good in theory but don’t actually work quite right yet, the technology just isn’t there yet
Thank you for reviewing the Merit cream shadows! I want to try them, but I think they are a no for me. I bought the Patrick Ta 3 palette, and the brown cream shade is identical to this one, and that’s the only one that appeals to me.
when you tried the mascara i thought of course it looks good!! i’m SO freaking jealous of your lashes! do you use any on them like serums or something?
The merit shadow is very good! I’m much older (63)and have more droop on my hooded eyes. Try it again, take your time and don’t rush. You might change your mind. No creasing !
Awe I was super let down by the MERIT eyeshadow. It looked super dark and pigmented but the minute you said cream to powder I immediately knew it wasn’t going to look great. Then yep sure enough it looked like doodoo being put on your eyelids 😣 I would love to see them try again, no cream!!
Have you ever considered having your colors done? When you changed tops your skin appearance changed so much. The warm naturals are definitely better on you! Might be a fun event with all the sisters.
I think "the harder you push the brush, the more coverage you'll get" means the more product you get on your brush, the more coverage.. Also, the lipstick thing would work better for a MUA making custom shades for clients if they have a great understanding of color theory.
I've heard that it's not good to curl your lashes with a regular curler after applying mascara, but if you use a heated eyelash curler, it should work nicely and not be damaging.
Have you tried the new too faced lash primer? We have similar lashes that always fall and it kept my lashes curled all day! Be interested to hear your opinion!
The dark brown and dark blue shades of the Solo Shadows are the patchiest of the bunch. If you get the chance, try some of the lighter shades. They may work better for you.
The lip thing says you have to prime the bottles on first time use. Also, I don’t think your counting was accurate on the colors because you didn’t think it was coming out 😂 ❤ love all your videos
I wonder if she’s ever tried getting a lash lift, it’s basically a perm for your lashes and it makes them curl constantly for about 6 weeks. I used to do it and loved it!
I remember Anastasia used to (or still does?) make a lip palette with a bunch of colors and some "mixing" colors like white, black, red, yellow, and blue, for you to customize your own lip color. Seems way less finnicky than this Lipskit
I really would like makeup companies to stop making mascara you can't set down while in use. I know it's not going to spill out, but still, I don't want to chase it around the room after it rolls off the counter.
Can you compare the lipstick printer to a makeup artist lip palette, try mixing the shades based on the lip printer recipes and see if the palette ends up closer to what you actually want?
The falsies surreal is really good I recurl after I apply and it stays like that all day sometimes into the night I'm always surprised when my lashes still look great at 8pm lol only thing is it's waterproof and difficult to remove but I think the pros outweigh the con

Obviously their mix chart is inaccurate, although I’d be curious to know if their app calls for the same amounts, they may have tweaked somethings there. Either way it’s a hundred dollar machine of questionable quality, and questionable ingredients if they smell that bad. There are kid’s craft kits that are lipstick mixing that cost way less and give around the same results lol. I do love the mascara however.
The fenty actually has more product than other stick foundations...9g i think (but others are fuller cov) and if you keep twisting it twists all the way up and you get it all then can recycle the packaging
As a cosmetologist if you want it less pink add green that will make it more neutral. Always go opposite the color wheel 😊
Can we all just appreciate that she doesn’t use beauty filters so we can actually SEE how the products work? Like FINALLY
💯💯💯
finally a real review

pumping the product on the paper towel sound like a total waste of product O_O How much is that kit?
@@silversterparty It's about $100 USD. And you don't have to pump out a bunch. It's just to prime the tube. So, maybe 1/2 a pump.
I want to see this redone with the pigment tubes properly primed and properly mixed.
I may be the only one who needs this, but I sure would love a very basic makeup tutorial - the order you use things, why, and how. Perhaps a simple day-wear version, then how to make it snazzier for a special occasion. Thanks for considering this!
I think she has done this kind of video in the past , but it was a long time ago .TBH even I would love to see this with the products available now..
How is it that as Rachel has her hand all twisted ( 4:37 ) that I knew EXACTLY what she meant! 😂 same girl, same.

Ugh and imagine if there was also a button to change it from matte to glowy
Same. I'm an artist and I'm used to just mixing colors that i need so it's strange for me that we don't do it with foundation
They do sell colored base for foundations to make your own shade in red blue yellow I'm not sure if there's orange and green
I’m absolutely obsessed with that nail polish you’re wearing! I’m not really a color girl on my nails, but that green is absolutely stunning!
What I love about Rachel is her commitment to saying "da ba dee, da ba DA" even when the "die" is written right there 😂😂❤
❤❤LOVE❤❤ the classic makeup testing/full-day wear test videos

Personally, I think the tower 28 concealer is a perfect shade match on you! it's not brightening at all but it is a good match.
Yeah I was thinking the exact same, she's so used to having brighter undereyes her perception of the colour match is skewed because it looks spot on for her actual skin tone.
I think people used to have concealer 3-4 shades to light. I think the best match looks 1 or 2 lighter.

I love seeing you try a product many of us commented about! Stamping any makeup is going to give more coverage. Just an FYI ❤
I need to tell you how much you and your videos means to me, you always cheer me up and make a bad day better ❤
If your lashes drop after curling, try waterproof mascara. That is the trick to keep them curled all day :)
