Back in the day was the best... I really miss those days. I'm glad I grew up back in the day. But like Billy Burr said, it must have been pretty cool to be a parent back in the day too. I'm also glad I'm not a parent now days. These days are some bullshit.

Bill's about a Generation before me but I got the tail end of those days. Left at 6 a.m., had to be back by the time cars were turning on there lights. Those were the days.

I grew up this way but in the 90s( always playing outside, getting scabs, cuts, bruises, playing with matches, having rock fights, mud wars, playing in the rain, making up stupid games, getting in fights with my brothers etc. . It's like after 9/11 and the explosion in popularity of the internet , cell phones and online gaming just change life for kids and teens drastically.

Childhood in the 70's ... we were kicked out and we stayed out all day until 8pm in Summer - no mobile phones to keep tabs on us - we were up to every bad adventure you could think of. What happened outside stayed outside - we came home and nobody was the wiser. Great days ... P.S I don't remember any fat kids then either ... they were rare!

Past seems always great, because your mind is never trying to be in the monent, that's why people say that time flies,if you don't spend it thinking about what could have been and what you expect it to be, you actually enjoy your life a lot more, just breath and hear the noises around you from time to time, be aware that yoir life is happening

+Al Hlapov Very well said! I hate when people say time flies. Just do what you can today and move on.

Bill is so right... by 11:00 a.m. on a weekend or summer time I was kicked to the curb to go out and play. Be in the house when the streetlights go on. I ran all over Park Slope Brooklyn in the late 70's at 7 and 8 yrs old causing all sort of havoc. Aahh Memories!

Tbh I was raised at the turn of the millenia in a rural town and it feels like it was almost the same, except that the modern housewife most likely became a nurse and we had videogames to play when it rained

Kids were more resourceful back then. In Jr. High back in
Lowell, MA, late 60's, even girls would call each other out
to "the tower" to fight. I knew sooner or later someone was
going to call me out so I got a few bucks together & bought
candy for these Golden Glove champs in my class who were
twins. (We even had boxing in gym class til some mom complained).
One day at recess a bully yells my name & says, "The tower
after school." The Golden Glove twins stand up & go, "No -one
touches our friend. Got it!" So never had to fight -protection $ works.
Use this method for your kids or grand-kids if they're being bullied.

+Starwheel6 Anyone surprised that there are mean troglodytes
who post on YT. Some even use their prison photo. This one looks
like he just got out of solitary after being fudge packed by a hillbilly
guard right out of central casting for the movie 'Deliverance. Since
halloween is next week with his mug all he needs to do is draw a
scar on his forehead and super glue two corks to the side of his neck
and he can go as Frankenberry the Dangling Dingle berry Demon

    • @jc.1191
      @jc.1191 4 года назад

Damn, we all had to fight plenty of times. Lol. Teach those kids how to defend themselves tho, and not to start shit.

Summer was 12pm to 6 pm at the pool. Then after that the rest of the day was spent riding bikes, playing basketball, football, baseball, capture the flag, tennis, wall ball or spread eagle and roller blading before it was considered a fag thing Until dinner was served then we ate that and after that we still played basketball at night. We saw that start go go away when one of the neighborhood girl (yes girls got in the sport activities) got internet and she spent her summers on the computer.
Man I'm going to train my nephews all this outside stuff so they won't be lost.

I remember people smoked either Pall Malls or Lucky Strikes no filter. If you handed them a cig with a filter they would look carefully at it and then rip the filter off.

The banks are more regulated today than they were back then. You're just under the confusion that those regulations are to help you, but of course you don't write those regulations, they do.

A lot of kids don't go out and do that dumb (but also fun) shit anymore because the laws are crazy now. The parents just distract them with an iPhone and they don't do dumb shit anymore. A shame, because I used to love doing that haha

The amount of shit that we burned down, while playing outside. Thinking about going to the store, buy a matchbox, and kick my daughter outside; ‘Here, go outside, burn down an abandoned building, and be home on time for dinner’ 😊
