Paul Pierce was the better all around player PERIOD. Melo was just a household name. Pierce was a much better defender and playmaker and at that time a better 3 point shooter.

Pierce was the better all around player, yes. But that doesnt mean you have to disparage another player. Carmelo is an all time great, period. We dont need an adendum like, "All time great scorer." Carmelo Anthony was a great player period.
We could make comparisons all day. For example, Gary Payton is the better all around player compared to Allen Iverson. Iverson was just a household name.
Lets not do that.
