1 Fish Fillet cut into strips
1 Egg
1 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Black Pepper
1 Cup Water (cold)
1 Cup Self- Raising Flour

Added ice cubes to batter, turns out very crispy and kids loved them. I did onion rings with leftover batter too. Very good and thank you for sharing.

I like to add a little corn starch and/or baking soda. Helps keep the batter light & crispy ✌🏾

Yes, 1 & 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder per cup of plain flour will make self-raising flour.
