to come up with a moral argument against leftist thought from first principles and have people side with you is difficult, but saying the left is just "godwin's law" posting is easy. Aside from that the people they're fishing for are people who are intellectually lazy, people who will take the short simple and wrong answer at face value rather than expend the mental energy; any time spent actually engaging with the arguments that he's casting aside outright is at best (from their point of view) a waste of time, and at worst built in deconversion.

I have no idea if there's any slang term that sounds like Nazi. Even if there is, I don't see how it could spread quickly enough to become common in a time when mass media was radio, movies, and print publications (television was in its infancy).

Not every person asking you about ethics or policy is somehow "trying to push you toward a more "radical" position" Dev.
Also, I do know an older guy who holds a more centrist position because he gives off the impression that there's too much polarization in this country and he wants nothing to do with either (like the "horseshoe theory" thing). And like he's just a chill older guy who is still hippie vibing and trying to live out his retirement, you know. I know he cares about wellbeing of people and is well done with any days of protesting (though he doesn't mind others doing nonviolent protest of course).
