Playing for Change does a great job of mixing "names", street musicians, and indigenous folk musicians into a great sound. Some videos have a lot of the names and others, like this one, are more the street musicians or some only known in their country. No matter what, these videos show us how much we have in common so we can celebrate our differences instead of being afraid of them.
If I was already on my way to my vacation I would go back just to see this. Thank you frankinho 💞💞
💞🙏
I love Playing for Change. Not only is it a great concept leading to practical help in communities, they also make some of my favourite versions of the songs they cover. Since every one uses different mixes of players they all sound different. A constant flow of freshness. Also great fun seeing players you recognise from around the world.
Great reaction!
Thanks so much, Fable! I've been following this organization for a while.. they are amazing! Many of their around-the-world collabs feature some of the original artists and/or "celebrities"... Hope you listen & react to more....(p.s. Clarence Becker, vocalist from the Netherlands has been featured on quite a few.. he is awesome!)
I love Playing for Change and like you Fil, I'm knocked out by the beautiful concept, the wonderful variety and superb skill of the international sister and brotherhood of musicians. I've watched so many, but I particularly loved "Chan Chan" - a fabulous arrangement of Compay Segundo's (Buena Vista Social Club). Teté Caturla García's singing and Chantz Powell's trumpet are a wonder. You could make it your next one..... xx
Fil, yes that was a steel acoustic guitar at start. Playing For Change is about actions not words, as you say a great concept. Yeah, string instruments and drums have so many varieties around the world. I love this cover. The lady with the voice is Titi Tsira from Guguletu, South Africa. Love this reaction.
#QcumberSquad #PlayingForChange - Fil, I'm off back to the study
Back to the study? In this heat? I hope it's air conditioned. Imagine it. A heat wave in Scotland! I don't think even Nostradamus predicted that. Is that the clip clop of hooves I hear?
@@Russ_Keith Hi there. I wish for air con yet that is just hot air talking. I'm sure somewhere in his nine hundred plus poems we can find an obscure link.
Tis said the glass in goes foretold an ed in brough where flames of Gordan red wrapped tightly the waist of young Walters who burnished the heather and cleaved the stone of sun kings and fainted his heart in humid contemplation.
@@FrankWarnerWords Well he would say that wouldn't he? Pure clickbait. It's all he cared about.
But seriously, all that for li'l ol' me? And in this heat?
I'm flattered.
I'm going to copy and paste all of your reply into notenook. It's wasted on a comment section where, as we know all too well, it can get lost.
Sorry to purloin a phrase... but that was B.E.A.utiful Glad I listened to this. I can't keep up with all of your posts lately, though I try to at least find something unique - and this was really it for me. Thanks Fable!
