    I enjoy watching your rides as I was so cold and wet I hardly saw anything on my first ride due to the persistent misty rain. You do not need Adventure bikes to have an adventure my first NC500 at 62 was on a Honda Super Cub 125 clockwise in two days June 2022 due to the cold and damp and the second was on a Rebel 1100 as part of my four points challenge to myself, the N, S, E, and W extreme points of mainland UK reachable by road which in total was 2650 miles split into three trips Dunnet Head and Ardnamurchan Point roughly following the NC500 six days in total 3 camping on route, Lowestoft Ness day trip a week later then Lizard Point another day trip at the end of June. This year is the Lakes with the six main passes the target but I need to decide which bike to use as this time it will be trailered up, base will be a caravan site for a week in the Motorhome with the better half and the dog, favourite is the Super Cub small and light best for Hardknott and Wrynose passes .

    No need to go as far as Scrabster for a ferry to Orkney. Around 10 minutes from John O'Groats you can get the Pentland ferry from Gill's Bay. Less expensive and shorter trip with a great ride from St Margaret's Hope on South Ronaldsay over the Churchill Barriers to the mainland. Some really good views on the ferry as it stays close to the cliffs on the way.

    Would like to get more info about the gearing you use. Scotland and rain are one so good clothing is key

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  5 месяцев назад

      Spend your money on good kit. I’ve bought budget stuff in the past and it never keeps your warm and dry in prolonged exposure to heavy rain. Eventually it gets in and then it’s just miserable.
      I spent the money and bought Rukka kit back in 2020 and it’s the best investment I’ve made in my kit. Waterproof, toasty warm, it just does the job very well. I bought from Infinity Motorcycle on 0% finance over 3 years so it cost me about £75 a month for their top of the range Nivala suit.
      Boots are Altberg bike boots which we were issued in the police, best boots I’ve ever worn. Waterproof and comfortable.
