The awesomeness of Scotland never fails to amaze!
"He who tires of Scotland tires of life": Bib the Boulder, 2023.
“He who tires of Scotland is tired of being cold and wet” - everyone else
🤣
@@davidtomkins4242 lol...I bet Richi Vida would agree with your sentiments...I must be lucky. Never got wet once and I have been many many times.
Loving this series - for me very nostalgic. I am Canadian born but moved to the UK when I was very young and grew up there including 6 years spent in Ayr before we moved to the south of England. I returned to Canada just over 33 years ago when I was in my twenties. You are asking yourself why you live in Kent and I am asking the same question. The west coast of Scotland is by far the best place in the UK for scenery + hiking and biking. Skye the Hebrides are amazing and un-spoiled, Durness was fabulous when I was there years ago. I still find myself scrolling though property websites for the north of Scotland. Let's face it - these days if you are able to work using a computer and a phone all you need is a decent internet connection and you can work from pretty well anywhere in the world. The only thing that can be the downside of Scotland . . .the rain and getting dark very early in the winter. What I like about Canada is even though it is cold in winter the skies are generally sunny. I follow and enjoy TMF also . . . Alaska and Western Canada is a different type of awesomeness and scale compared with anything in the UK (and even Europe for that matter). I would say it is far more wild, rugged and intimidating than anything you will find Scotland, at least if you chose to venture off the beaten path. An issue in Canada is the beasties will eat you if they catch you, and they can run pretty fast! Looking forward to the next episode - cheers
Ha Ha yep you’re not wrong there on any point.
The scenery in Canada is just amazing, I was blown away by BC and up towards the Yukon, would definitely love to go back 👍
Looks a little like my area of Norway this! No wonder my ancestors felt like home and helped themselves when they came over 😄
Does that mean we can claim reparations.....lol
Only until the Battle of Largs 12 October 1263 my Norwegian friend...maybe distant relation. I notice that your first name is pal, I can't find the symbol to put the small 0 above a in your first name, but here in the west of Scotland what everyone calls a close friend male or female is pal. I ’m 63 now been riding for 50 years. I thought the quality of riding from everyone was great to watch.
@@ericsbuell Hey, thanks for the history clarification! And I appreciate your Norwegian translation!
My people was traveling more or less frequently probably from the late 8th century. To Scotland, Ireland and of course the islands in between and in the north sea. There was a while where the contact wasn't friendly, but there are more evidence my people were just as interested in trade and relocation as well and all that pillaging and stuff. My name is pronounced exactly like when you say Paul. The "å" is like the "au" sound. I tend to write my name in English spelling when I'm not in Norway. We probably have a lot of similar blood in our veins from those times😊 I've been over a few times, and the landscape is very similar to Norwegian coastal landscape.
These boys ride so smooth, it sometimes doesn't look like they ride fast.
@@aukanmeister Thanks for your comment. "neighbour" 😉👍
Every country has its own biker roads and unique culture that makes us All want to experience new places….Every “Adventure” brings a new set of memories…this trip was full of them… 🙏🥃🏴
Thanks man, was a pleasure to have you along 👍🥃
what a beauty this country!
16:44 when you come round the bend with the "Mount Doom" looking mountain in the distance...when I saw this myself last year..I was getting Lord of the Rings vibes... Such an awesome road to ride.
Fantastic another great run :-) brilliant just brilliant.
Cheers 👍
Thanks for showing me what the top end looked like, ..... when I went up there, there was so much rain and mist you couldn't see too far.
Another great vlog mate, I done that route on a wee varadero 125 and also on a BMW F650 funduro, great roads 👍 🏴
Mega 👏👍
Bruce, less of the come here, come here, we like that the roads are quiet and we don't need to put up with the same traffic you do down south... 😅😅
Wow, what beautiful scenery. I think with that views and Scotlands rugby performance lately I might move to Scotland myself 😂
🤣👍
You are 50% more Scottish while in Scotland. Excellent trip guys and a fantastic route by Simon! That man should write a book! Glad you got your P.C. to work! 😍👍
Ha Ha cheers Murt 👍
Bruce, I'm a cyclist & motorcyclist appreciate the distance you always take when passing them your a true gent mate !! And my god that scenery , happy to see you finally got it rendered. greetings from Japan !!
Thanks bud 👍
Love it, Bruce. Cracking commentary. I know how hard it to do that.
Thanks Chris 👍
Scottish Tourist Board will be loving this.... great video as always Bruce
Ha Ha thanks Ivor 👍
Excellent. I shall be heading to these roads in April/may this year ,can’t wait. 👍
Another fantastic vid cheers Bruce. Just a bit lower than the Kylesku bridge. The kylesku hotel stunning location just beautiful views
N C 500 is Absolutely amazing, you could never get tired of them views
I got quite emotional watching how beautiful Scotland is.
Can take your breath away can’t it 👍
@@teapotone you'd get fed up on me on that tour stopping to take it all in for a few minutes after every corner
Now that is a road with a view! What an epically scenic route to take up to John O' Groats.......the smiles on all the biker faces said it all! I am now seriously considering heading up to Orkney on two wheels to visit a pal.
Thank you for your memories. Looked like a wonderful ride.
I’m glad you went to Dunnet Head, everyone bangs on about John O’ Groats.
Bruce the beach you. claim was perfect white sands , it’s called Ardmair Point and was always a pebble beach
Whole video was joyous Bruce, just what’s needed to whet the appetite until the weather gets better and I get back to Scotland. Thanks pal!
My pleasure Pete 👍
Great guidance, Bruce. Vision, and lane positioning is essential.
I did that route on the NC 767 a couple of years ago. I had glorious weather. I was absolutely blown away by it. Only down side was the camper vans crawling along and not pulling over.
My memories of that section is a mates top box coming off due to a failed homemade mount 10 miles from durness, and climbing into a field to nick the twine off a hay bail to tie it on. Posted the top box home from the spar in durness 🤣🤣
🤣👏👍
I’m with you.. genuinely, who needs Alaska and Europe when we have Scotland and Wales on our doorstep! Absolutely stunning and I’ve no doubt the videos don’t do it justice
I'm so lucky to have these roads right outside my door. Glad your guys are enjoying them.
Nae so glad your givin oor wee secrets awa big man 😂😂
Another great your Bruce superb scenery just been up and around the NC a few months ago. But you never see it all !! too much to take in moving .👍😁😁 think your squad are liking it .
It's like getting your back door kicked in!!
"That's my playground"
Good time had by all 👏🏻🏁🏆🍾
🤣👍
Absolutely stunning, cant wait to go
Hi Bruce, such memories you brought back to me, I did it anti clockwise about four years ago. Sutherland is heaven on earth. Can I just say though when you cover the swear words with that big truck horn through my earphones you keep scaring the ffff-in life out of me. Thanks Bruce...
🤣👍
Another corker Bruce, loved every minute of that👌I'm not surprised you keep questioning why you moved to Kent😜
It took time this one.
But is amazing like always Bruce, thank you
Thanks Ricardo, glad you enjoyed this one too 👍
As a viewer and new rider, I'm grateful for your videos, especially when you go into detail about positioning on the road etc. Thank you!
No bother Micky, glad it’s of some use to you 👍
What a brilliant place to ride and explore Bruce 👏, amazing scenery!! It reminded me of the West Coast of Ireland ..great stuff!! Cheers Steve
Cracking episode Bruce I love the road from Loch Inver think it’s my favourite of all the Highland roads although last time nearly got wiped out by a milk lorry that I came face to face with in the rain, travelling uphill, and he was slowing for nobody. Ended in the gravel, thankfully upright to my wife on the pillion’s joy👍
Thanks Bruce, I'm Sutherland from Sutherland, well 3xGGF back, from Helmsdale on the east coast 1853. Have been up the east coast and also up through the Kildonan Valley to the nor-western Sutherland - but not as much as you showed on here - sure is raw and rugged up there! Thanks for the commentary! Graeme, NZ
Fantastic adventure! I really enjoy your trips 🎉🔥
Thank you
Truly stunning , would you think about selling me your gpx files as I would love ride this in June , thanks Bruce . Carl uk
Hi Carl,
You can buy the route off of Simon Weirs website bud 👍
And thats just the "beaten track". Get off that and you truly do get the place to yourself. Scotland is just stunning!
Absolutely. I tour most years up there and actively seek out those single track roads that seemingly "go nowhere"....rarely disappointed.
@@BibtheBoulder Glen Clova.
This one started a braw argument of “whur’s eh noo?” Excellent footage as always 👍
Fantastic, can't wait to get back up to Scotland 🏍👍🏼
A great series of videos, loving it. You also seem have the best sound setup of any moto vlogger. Crystal clear speech, including the coms, and picking up the engine/exhaust noise too. Loving it.
Thanks John 👍
I totally loved the NW of Scotland. There's a new scene around every corner.
The downside of those "look at that" moments, 10:27 on your video, it was that section, I was riding the other way (NC500) and a car was coming towards me. EVERYONE in the car was looking at the beach and the scenery, including the driver. I wasn't pleased...
Was the bike ok after being dropped...oh..and rider as well? 😁
Thanks for sharing.
G
Aye Bruce , another cracking vid ! Maybe its because your home in sunny Scotland . great stuff !! Your riding mates will remember this for a long time .
Thanks John 👍
All I can say is wow...think I may join you next year!!
It's amazing 🤩🤩
Kylesku has only two syllables: “Kyle-Skew”. Great video 😎🏍🏴
Hiya! 😁
Bruce. Now that my granddaughter has finally given me my laptop back after nearly years, I've been catching up on your past exploits on two wheels. Did you have some bad luck in Japan? I'm stuck in bed with sciatic pain but watching some of your vids, and other bikers vids helps to take my mind elsewhere. What a ride that was in the Canaries. In Spain my late wife kept asking me to slow down, not that I was doing any great speeds, just so she could simply live the moment and take in them mountain views. Lower down trainers, jeans and a baggy tee-shirt became the order of the day with plenty of sun cream. Better days for sure. Everything is far better watching on a 19-inch monitor than being stuck with a mobile. You have definitely banged out the miles dude, good on yer! Stay safe and all the best to the clan. So till next time 👍.
Good to see you back Les, I hope you’re doing well.
Appreciate you catching up on the vids and glad you’re enjoying them still 👍
Thank you brought back some good memories, need to go back up there
Ah ha! Caught them out on geography! Budgie smugglers are Australian, the Scottish version are called midgie smugglers.
🤣👏👍
I did it anti-clockwise May/June 21. As you say, Sutherland is just out of this world. I was lucky enough to have little traffic and temperature in the high 20s for my entire journey. No rain but plenty of sea fog. If I do it again, i'll take a longer time over it. I did it in 7 days from Shropshire. Could easily make it a 10 day tour. Only downside was it was just out lockdown and a lot of the eateries were closed
Epic Bruce as always epic
Best roads in the UK, made me feel I was in Scandinavia the route north of Ullapool, the best roads are those that loop off the NC500, happy days…great commentary Bruce, had a lot of advanced training myself, so helpful.
I’ve been watching these over the last day or so Bruce, wow, epic roads and scenery. Will definitely look to join one of these trips in the near future!
Another brilliant video Bruce! Great stuff. 👍
Cheers Alan 👍
Simply amazing 🙌 Thanks for the video, loved it! Man I gotta get up to Scotland
Think I counted 67 “Wow’s “ and 34 “ look at that’s “
Awesome video Bruce
Incredible views, fantastic edit as usual 🔝🎥🎬
Thanks very much Mike 👍
What a brilliant tour this is Bruce. Best part? It ain't over yet. 😃
Ha Ha thanks Thomas, yep still 2 more amazing days to come!
I’ve got the Switzerland series to come too - that is just insane! 👍
Another amazing vid of Scotland.
Thanks very much 👍
Wow. Stunning roads, I bet you could have kept that camera on the whole time! 😂 great video Bruce. Keep it up 👍🏻
Thanks mate, aye it’s hard to know when to turn it off!
Glad I did though as these are a nightmare enough to edit as it is🤣
Hope you’re keeping well mate 👍
Hey lads, ur all in serious Gods country there. 2 things to say, I worked on the construction of the Kylesku Bridge back in 1984!!! Pointless fact- the legs of the bridge are hollow and sealed as you can’t get access, also I reckon there’s as much concrete & reinforcing dumped in the narrows under the bridge as what made it, believe me I seen loads getting dumped!
Also going by experience I’d say the road from Kylesku to Laxford Bridge is the best in the UK for motorcycling weather permitting of course.
Great series this one Bruce 👍👍
Cheers Ray 👍
Clearly freezing cold, yet there's a queue to buy ice cream - only in Bonnie Scotland!
What a great series. The countryside is amazing! Thank you for sharing this incredible journey.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Bloody awesome 👌 definitely a bucket list trip 👌
Cheers bud 👍
Great video Bruce, I’m doing the same route this may on my tiger with my son on his tiger, can’t wait. Your gang look like a great bunch of guys. I would like to come on a tour with you all.
This tour has convinced me: I NEED to do a NC500 tour at some point. It's on the bucket list now. Cheers mate
Bruce we’re doing this trip at the end of May so watching this is already getting me very excited about the Trip, fantastic content pal keep em coming. 👍🏻
Nice one Ade, have a great time 👍
Absolutely another great episode mate!
Cheers Dan 👍
We Ken it weel 😊
Top class Bruce!
So many good memories of doing that section of Scotland, 100% same viewpoint, Sutherland is amazing.
That section of the NC500, the Drumbeg loop on route to Kylesku Bridge, the cameras just don't capture the steepness of those roads.
Cannot wait for the next episode, the Spittal of Glenshee road is so much fun! 😁😁😁
Cheers Rich🙏👍
What a bucket list place😮 getting too many of those lately. 😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🍻
Ha Ha, time to tick some off then John 😉👍
Absolutely loving this series Bruce, am already looking at my calendar to see if I can fit a trip up there in with the other trips and ABR festival I already have booked for this year. I’ll have to up my game with the Valentine present for the missus and time when to drop it in the convention 😁
Ha Ha - it’ll be worth it though!
May see you at the ABR then, I’ll be in the bar helping to ‘support’ the festival 👍
Great video Bruce. Love the channel! Hope to go Scotland one time! Greetings from the Netherlands
Thanks bud, appreciate that and glad you’re enjoying the vids 👍
Love the banter in your videos, my son had a few chuckles, he was impressed the R1800 spanked a Porsche
Ha Ha, I WISH I had the footage of that! 🤣👍
@@teapotone so do I 😆
This is the kinda stuff I sub and joined the clan for. How are you not over the hundred thousand sub point?! Just blows my mind. Love you vids 😗💯
Ha Ha thanks bud - I obviously not doing something right, don’t do enough bike reviews I suppose 🤷♂️🤣👍
Had a few good lock ins at Aultguish inn
Had a summer job as petrol pump attendant there in 1971 & 1972. Lots of nice memories
10 points to the ice-cream man. 😀
Ha Ha I know, what a top lad 👍🤣
Fantastic loving this tour 👍
Cheers 👍
Great video, not seen the Multi Strand Telegraph Poles and wires for a long time by the road side.
Cracking video Bruce 👍👍
Thanks Neil 👍
Gotta love Tony, what a line; ‘so this isn’t technically the end of England..’ No mate, this is Scotland 🏴 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ha Ha, “Nice lad!” 😉🤣👍
What a fab day that was 😍
Mint eh, can’t wait to go back! 😎🤣👍
Oh Bruce, Sutherland was my playground for 30 years but in the last year I moved down to Nothumberland , what have I done???
I know all those roads Intimately & you have reminded me how much I miss them.😣
Could have moved somewhere far worse, love Scotland but you only have the Borders, the Lakes, Pennines and North Yorkshire to play in instead, I live just off the A68😆👍, Northumberland isn’t bad either.
@@IanTed I agree, I just haven't had the time to explore my new playground yet hopefully soon...
I am lucky enough to have this as my local run as its my home area, great vid you certainly did it justice. Wonder who left the donut in front of the ice cream van at Dunnet head.
Scotland beats alaska hands down. Naturally. Love your passion for your homeland.
I am on my way up end of February. I'll be coming from SW Wales, Glasgow then taking Can't a82 (east side of Loch ness) up to Nairn. Can't wait.
Ride safe all.
Enjoy 👍
@@teapotone thank you 😊
Just had to watch this again 🤤, also makes me want a GS.
I remember years ago there was a general Prohibition for caravans and mobile homes on most of the west coast roads guess that has changed 🤔😊
🤘👍🤘👍
Stayed at the altguish Inn a couple of times and I would highly recommend it great food and great hosts
Should've stopped at Knockan Crag😀
That must be first Bro hav’n a Ryland fanboy on a tour 😉😂
🤷♂️👍🤣
Dry days like that in Scotland cannot be beaten! Need to get my cardo set up to record comm chatter, makes for such a better vid listening to everyone chatting! I think there's some bearded guy on RUclips that did a vid on how to do that
Yes… and he rides the REAL BEST BIKE IN THE WORLD😘
i have been to that to the burger van at durness very good food there
