I Literally jumped off the sofa when I realised that you've got my old bike, 10 seconds in I'm looking with suspicion but seeing the numberplate on the ferry...... not its first time in Europe.
No film crew? No back up vehicles?? Just one man, one bike ? Fantastic 👍 really enjoyed the journey so far, looking forward to seeing more, ride safe and enjoy 👍
In 2014 we took our 1250 fa to the algarve, where it stayed for 5 years, we did the ride in 3 days which on reflection was too long. We stopped at Salamca (spelling) for one night. We did intend to go to Morocco, but never made it, good luck and take it easy. Note that we were robbed in a petrol station in Spain, but the people threw our tank bag out of the window when a pump attendant stood in front of their car.
I am 64 and I can totally understand you. Way to go! I have done solo journeys to Russia, Turkey, Marocco… This summer I went to Tunisia. I get that feeling of freedom and adventure looking at this. I will follow with interest!
Me and my mates did that ferry both ways in the summer, I'd definitely recommend paying for the commodore lounge if they have places. You get food and soft drinks all day plus wine etc. Worked out much cheaper than pay-as-you-go in my opinion and you have a nice view up the front of the ship.
G'day mate, Joe here from Australia. Just came across your channel somehow and decided to watch this one. It looks like I am similar vintage to you and its great to see that your are free camping. Love doing that too mainly because its leaves more money in the kitty for beers and steak :)
Just subscribed to your channel to watch this amazing trip and your very inspiring journey to everyone that is considering to get out there on the road!! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍
Great to see so much positive input. I did a similar ride in June this year, I landed in Cherbourg and rode down to the south of Spain, solo age 67. Found it a little lonely from time to time and I was becoming more and more ill. After 3 weeks in the saddle I made it home and straight to hospital, multiple blood clots on my lungs and pneumonia....just new I wasn't well.......lol😅 on the mend still...enjoy the ride brother.
Congratulation for your journey starting, man. I'm also riding Suzuki V-strom 650 same as you. I'm now 69 years old. You looks like my generation or little bit younger. I'm very happy to start watching your adventure RUclips video. Take care and have a good trip.

Congratulations brother! This is the exact trip I intended to take but at age 67 talked myself out of it.Riding solo was too intimidating
