I'm going to buy two Nokia 7.1 phones for my parents. They've been using two crappy Nokia X2 phones for few years now. I made their X2 phones a bit better by rooting the phone and installing real Android on it, so my mom and dad can taste the fun of Android a bit. When I first introduced them to Android they loved it a lot. I'm pretty sure they're gonna really love the Nokia 7.1.
Hey Techspurt,Absolutely fantastic side by side! Having recently bought a Moto One Power, I was actually worried I was making the wrong choice. but I am glad I have gone with the Moto blower. One more comparison you can mention is that the Motorola(Indian Version atleast) is that it has a dual sim capability and a micro SD card slot separately where as the Nokia 7.1 is a Hybrid sim slot. Thanks Again for the fantastic comparison!
@Tassafonti You don't understand how it's work, android is the operating system, updates are added to the AOSP (android open source project) where the source code can be modified and complied by anybody, such as manufacturers, the manufacturer then must push the update over OTA (updates are faster with the new project treble). Android one just guarantees a stock, unbloated android with atleast 2 major updates.

I have nokia 7.1 and i must say it has a very crisp display plus it has HDR10+ capability, but the only downside of it is lack of IP rating. I once caught a water on the display that gets into the back of it and it got fixed with a hot air from a blower then after a month the display got sorted or something. It’s still usable, but i send it to the service center and if they didn’t fixed maybe I’ll buy a new one and I’m thinking of Motorola One Vision.
I'm thinking of getting the 7.1 for my wife. All she cares about is the camera (taking pics of our kids). I can't find that it has ois? Just eis? How good do you think the 7.1 camera is overall? Specifically for pics of moving kids? Thanks so much for the help
The pixel 3 then, or even a pixel 2. I took a portrait photo of my mom's cat and she can never stay still and she's always moving around. Needless to say she was running and jumping around so I just took a portrait photo and thought it was gonna come out very blurry but came out really good actually. This was taken with my pixel 2 mind you. Just got my pixel 3 today
If all she wants is a good camera and the budget is $350, I'd recommend a 1st Gen Pixel over the 7.1, the camera on the Pixel is still very good. But if what you want is all the other things on the 7.1 (build quality, display, Bluetooth 5.0, longer updates, SD card slot, then the 7.1 will still be a great choice, even better in the camera department if you install a Google Camera apk. But if bezels aren't a problem, and if only one more year of security updates isn't either, then the Pixel, Pixel has unlimited cloud storage too.
