If it’s the same phone from three or more years ago, I don’t think it’s worth it. I did have a flagship Redmagic phone, and from my experience, the biggest issue with it is its software updates.

As a OnePlus 12 user, I can’t understand why gaming phones don’t include an amazing feature like the Ultra Resolution found in OnePlus devices. When enabled, it sharpens edges in games, making them appear in incredibly high detail. I compared my phone to my brother’s RedMagic 9 Pro, and the difference in clarity was undeniably in favor of OnePlus! I really hope RedMagic considers adding this impressive feature in the future.
Higher resolution = lower framerate. And they want to advertise these phones as having great framerate in games. And it's cheaper, while they still sell it at high price.

Well, ROG Phones are technically flagship phone with gaming DNA, so I think they dont have the same market with Redmagic. I agree with ROG being overpriced, and youre paying extra for the unnecessary gimmicks, but they're meant for someone like S ultra users thats looking for gaming phones. There's a sense of prestige to own one like with Iphone pro / Z fold and such.
It's great that more phones are coming with that 24gb + 1TB of ufs 4.0 configuration... Although i'm not sure how good is the Asus OS (however it's called). I've tried the Redmagic 9 and it's the worst rubbish i've experienced in years
Just giving you guys a warning as a Asus 8 pro owner, the back LED display looks really cool but it doesnt have a lot of support or customization both official or fan-made. You cant wire it to specific apps and the toggles at 4:13 are all you have. You can draw your own animations but it takes a lot of effort and the only online forum to share animations has barely any activity. The unlockable animations at 4:50 require 2 phones to physically touch each other to unlock so good luck finding another person who also has the same phone

Thrash Asus as always. What's new with these ROG 9 series phones the slightly bump 185Hz display and 5,800mAh battery? What a joke for $1000+ priced phone prone to motherboard issues too. GO FOR REDMAGIC 10Pro instead which is only starts at $680 Jeez. Price to performance wise, here's a recap of all the upgrades and tech advancements it has: - 144Hz, UDC with 95.3% screen to body ratio - Liquid metal passive cooling + 23000 RPM fan - New Silicon Carbon 7,050mAh battery - New UDC selfie cam- now captures way better selfies (check C4Etech's review) - R3 custom game chip- now upscales games resolution and fps at will (outside game settings) ..There are more that I can't count off. Better than this thrash from Asus.

Here's my 2 cents on the software update issue: If you're looking for a top of the line specs for gaming, that means you need a powerful one that will last you as long as possible. Sadly, ASUS' poor 2 years of Android updates + 3 years security updates doesn't bode well with that longevity expectation on a gaming phone. Just wait for the S25 lineup, it's gonna have the same chipset anyway, but you'll also get longer Android and security update timeline.

The 10 pro has almost the same score as Rog 9 pro with probably a price difference of double and you still have more left... 1500 for rog while redmagic is probably 600 or 700, even 800 you basically save 50%, asus is long gone from being customer friendly....
The design of this series after ROG 5 is getting progressively worse: the camera bump is annoyingly massive and uncentered; bezels around the screen are uneven; back LEDs don't make sense with just two colors, they should have been either mono- or multi-color; matte texture sucks; transparent glass bits were removed; power and volume buttons aren't colored anymore. And where are the front firing speakers? They're now on the sides, where we can easily cover them with our hands! They even added that awful camera butthole-cutout in the screen. I remember, they were proud that their phones didn't have one.

Its a great phone all round...the cooler is exceptional having only 34 degrees in genshin wow... Considering where the secondary usb port is I'll take the lower battery compared to the red magic..its also nice they fixed the air triggers...Good one Asus...poor software update tho😢😅
The performance is excellent but the HW itself is rather dull. I don't need the overly gamery look, but here Asus just made a Zenfone chassis and added some bling to it, something like Redmagic 10 Pro looks a lot more interesting and high tech (and also has bigger battery and no camera hole).

this is the problem right now of gaming phones. you can play almost any game without buying these phones as of now. ROG is becoming a little bit too pricey for the specs it gives. i know that it gives top notch specs but with the camera you can get better phones than this. but as of now the only thing that ROG phone 9 pro can give as a gaming device is it's air triggers, better thermals in games, headphone jack, it's back design and it's own cooler. and some gaming accessories (both software and hardware). since the chip is already this powerful buying a flagship phone like samsung, vivo, xiaomi and one plus is much better choice if you have a limited budget but if you are that reach then why not buy ROG right?

I have the rog phone 7 ultimate and i still love it but the only thing i dont like about it is it doesnt have an E-sim which sucks if you are traveling a lot and need one. I dont see one on this Rog phone.

For one, a couple of water droplets on the Redmagic could render the entire phone obsolete. Then you're just stuck with a fancy looking brick.

ROG is becoming a little bit too pricey for the specs it gives. i know that it gives top notch specs but with the camera you can get better phones than this. but as of now the only thing that ROG phone 9 pro can give as a gaming device is it's air triggers, better thermals in games, headphone jack, it's back design and it's own cooler. and some gaming accessories (both software and hardware). since the chip is already this powerful buying a flagship phone like samsung, vivo, xiaomi and one plus is much better choice if you have a limited budget but if you are that reach then why not buy ROG right?

I have the rog phone 7 ultimate and i still love it but the only thing i dont like about it is it doesnt have an E-sim which sucks if you are traveling a lot and need one. I dont see one on this Rog phone.
what about upscaling in games ? i heard that 8 Elite has an option to upscale games for more FPS with less power consumption
How are the speakers compared to Rog 7 and 8?
rog phone 8 and 9 are terrible but the 7/5/3 are litterally the best, the 1 and 2 are the loudest, 6 is decent
