Intermittent wiping fact: VW T4s (Jonny’s fav) has unlimited intermittent wiping. You get to set the timer delay by turning the wiper on then off and then back on. The length of time between turning off and back on again determines the interval. Fascinating.
man my 16 plate Type R Gt struggles with all settings on intermittant wipe go VW! :D
@@markmanderson yeah the family wagon (Honda CRV) has the same problem. Even on the slowest setting it sometimes just goes mad.
Congratulations on the new car Richard. I was close to buying one but could not bring myself to (which surprised me) as I could not dis-associate the car from Elon Musk.
If you go for a swan bonnet ornament see if they could cast holes so it would be a swan flute when in motion
Thanks for another brilliant video. I had the dreaded rear wheel puncture on my 6 speed Brompton. Looked complicated to fix but managed it. Buying a new Brompton was an option!

Nice one Richard, replaced my supercharged XJ with a Model 3 as got fed up with problems and the 3 was then replaced with a Y - 73k Tesla miles in 5 years and no regrets. (PS - there is a stalk end to press for wipers on, then flick through the wiper settings by using the left wheel on the steering wheel - move it left or right to go through each setting!)
Cant wait to hear what the new car is.
On the subject of old money bonnet mascots, my wife's old Legacy Outback had one fitted when we went to view it, a small duck, which was removed and had two little painted grommets in the bonnet to replace it. An acceptable flaw for an otherwise immaculate machine.
As well as in floods, phevs and elec vehhhhhhicles would also work fine without modification ON THE MOON!!! 😄😄😄

lol Bjentjly and phev had me giggling like a goon, first thing i thought too was a mitsubishi :D I cant get my head round a hybrid bjentjly im lucky to get to drive a 97 brooklands now and again (dads retirement toy) and id miss that thunderous roar when you press the throttle gingerly! We call it the flying green chapel in the family :) has thicker carpets than my house! and cmon swans wouldnt drink and drive, they would obviously smoke pot and fly! duh! 🤣
Cheers guys, I believe orange tic-tacs are banned in the UK for whatever reason. On a recent trip to the US I saw orange tic-tacs for sale so bought 5 packets, I couldn't give them away!
I'd never thought to drop the tyre pressure, my only concern with the low profile tyres is that going to be a puncture magnet?
I find the ride pretty good unless you're going down ye'olde cobbed road, and the car is too stupidly big to do that anyway so it's not a huge issue.
Must admit that PCP was a bit of a bargain providing you don't mind renting. Did that include the option of a balloon? I noticed Tesla stopped letting you buy the car out in certain deals?

Great episode to start the year…just one observation, an ID was dismissed because of infotainment but then went for a car with wiper controls on a touch screen…I’ve got an ID3 and you get used to the controls very quickly, whilst retaining familiar things like control stalks etc (with a switch for multiple speed intermittent wipers) anyway I personally wouldn’t go for a buzz due to the range for that sort of vehicle not being good enough- it needs a larger battery pack and/or better efficiency. I’m sure the tessslaaa will be much better in that regard.

Glad you revealed you came to the dark side, Richard. I'm a huge car nerd as well (hence the handle) and also own a Tesla, it's been our favourite family car (I've had a BMW E36 M3 Sedan, Mercedes W124 estate, W140 sedan and now a Porsche Cayenne 3.2 as well as a 987 Porsche Boxster as a weekend car). Quality has been average but similar to other comparable cars (BMWs, Mercs, Audis) that my friends have had. A distinct advantage for fuel and maintenance savings with an EV with the added ease and reduced stress of the excellent Supercharging network - absolutely no regrets other than the Elon shenanigans... Couldn't agree more with the statement of many good innovative people working at Tesla, had a few colleagues go there and enjoy their time.
One thing I've noticed is that, for all his faults, Musk is quick to praise and thank the various teams at his companies and I've yet to hear him blame his managers or engineers for any problems. Credit where it's due.

They pronounce it as how you've spelt it above. Us Canadians pronounce it alumi-NUM as well and don't spell it with the second "i" as in the UK (aluminium).
