This is one of my favorite live performances! I think bassist John Deacon shines here with the bass playing! It’s not very often that the camera focuses on John so this was truly a treat! Also, Freddie encouraged John to sing the bridge with him .. another yummy treat!!

Love the section with John Deacon playing. His fingers are on fire!

This song really shows how talented John actually is. It is easy to miss him since he melts in so well with the band and slips nicely into the pocket. John Entwistle thought John was an excellent bass player but thought he should use a heavier bass to stand out more. That worked for Entwistle because he of course, was playing with The WHO, but John Deacon was perfect for Queen in my opinion. I do love that John is singing on this one and not looking the least bit uncomfortable either, I might add.

Most Queen concerts were 2 hours long or more. Queen wanted to give their fans a show worth remembering.
Even when Freddie injured his knee on stage after about an hour into the concert at Hannover performing "Hammer To Fall" on Sep. 22, 1984, he still gave them a show. Freddie had originally torn his knee while horseplaying and had spent weeks in a cast. Now, while performing, he had reinjured the same knee
They carried him off stage in pain but backstage he told the rest of the band "I can't just leave without ending the show. Without giving them what they came for" so they carried him back on stage and sat him down at the piano where he sang and played "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions".. Then he let take him to hospital.

Their shows generally ran just under 2 hrs w/22 or so song set list.
They all weren’t nearly 9 minutes.
This is an amazing performance. Blown away the first time I watched it.

I saw Queen live in ‘77. It was fabulous. If you are new to this band, be sure you check out Queen when they played Live Aid. Each band was allowed a 20 minute set. You very quickly discover why it is still considered the best live performance in the history of rock and roll. Freddie struts, Brian was at the top of his game, Deacy is his usual quiet self who played his bass marvellously and Roger did his masterful drumming. Queen owned every person in the 72K audience and no one really wanted to follow them. These guys were each a genius in his own right.

Your channel is new to me....I like your reactions! I have a mad crush on Freddie, and I have heard a few of his interviews. He said he keeps people at an arms distance from really getting to know him especially romantically. Mary being an exception ....they had a connection. On the flip side, he really did want "somebody to love".....smile. There's a sweet, sad loneliness about him at times....

Saw them in 1979 - Second Row. Queen I ("Liar" - first song, first {maybe second?} side) is an amazing first album. Metallica always pays homage to those early Queen albums, which were very heavy...

Enjoying your reaction....Freddie is laughing, wherever he is.....his lyrics generally speaking have nothing to do with his life...he had a brilliant imagination....amazing pianist ...the one song I heard him say that it was a song for the audience...”Love of My Life”...if you looked up his catalogue you would see what I mean.....there is a song called “Seven Seas of Rhye”....when he was a child he composed it for his little sister....have a listen to “Stone Cold Crazy”....actually Metallica have covered this song🤩

Queen concerts were at least two hours and they would play about 30 or more songs. Even their concerts this year were 2 hours 15 minutes or more and they did 36 songs.

The single bombed in the U.S.A., its a long song so the record company decided to cut it to 3 minutes, its a mess and Queen distanced themselves from it.
