I love this song especially because my boy John Deacon (bassist) gets his featured moments to shine ! 😊

The first two Queen albums are mind blowing. Heavy and dark.

Ha! Nobody should hate Judy Garland, you would have to be the most mean spirited person on earth to hate her, what an amazing voice. Segue to Liar, WoW! I love this performance, it is so powerful and every member of the band shines. The bass in this song is incredible. Thank you for your reactions.

The story of the mic began before Queen was formed. Before Queen, Freddie was in a rock blues band based out of Liverpool called Wreckage. One night on stage, as Freddie tried to pull the mic off the stand, it had become stuck. Try as he might, he could not dislodge the mic from the stand (and Freddie was pretty strong). Finally, he pulled so hard that the stand itself separated into two sections with the mic still attached to the top section.
The members of Wreckage were poor college students who could not afford the luxury of a backup microphone, so Freddie had no choice but to use the mic still stuck on the top half of the stand. As he continued to perform, he found he liked the "bottomless mic". It gave him something to play with while performing.
From that performance on, Freddie continued to use the mic with the top half of the mic stand attached in all his performances and it became one of his signature traits.
FYI - John and Freddie were very close. When John joined Queen in 1971, he was only 19 and still in University. Freddie who was 24 at the time took John under his wing and began mentoring him. They built a relationship like a big brother/little brother. Freddie helped John deal with the stress of being a rock star plus he encouraged John to develop his writing skills.
After Freddie passed away, John did not want to continue to play without Freddie. He retired and has lived a quiet life ever since.

The microphone stand broke when Freddie was in a band before Queen called Wreckage he loved it so kept it ❤ gave him the freedom to move around the stage x

Thank you..about the tambourine, Freddie said that his leg would be black and blue after playing it....thank you for special mention of John Deacon...apart from being the ace of bass he built an amp for Brian out of odds and ends and skip (dumpster) diving...everyone was amazed at the sound it could make....he had a degree in electronics..Freddie said that John saved them from disaster...in the early d
ays they had a horrible manager...John asked him for the money to buy a house Norman Sheffield (manager ) refused so John broke the contract..in Queen interviews when they are asked about crew or money they look to John for the answer...as the baby in the band he managed the crew and the finance...he was heartbroken when Freddie died...they were both reserved offstage...they recognized each other as kindred spirits...Hi John, we hope you’re keeping well🌺🤩

New subscriber here. Believe it or not "Deeky" John Deacon is retired from performing but he is the financial advisor and ceo, per say, of Queen

Probably the last time John was allowed near an open mic. 😊😊😊. He kills the bass on this but the group thought he was a terrible singer - honestly I couldn’t hear his voice

John was shy and knew that he wasn't a great singer, although he wrote beautiful songs for Freddie to sing... (Brian said that he and Roger always wanted to sing their own songs, but "after a while, we all realized that everything sounded better when Fred sang it") -- John used to step up occasionally to sing live, but as far as I know, never was a vocalist on recordings...
