      I think some angel fish would look good or gourami. I'm a cardinal tetra guy so may recommend a group of them to school in

    Plants growing in or on rock are called Lithophytes. Epilithic lithophytes grow on surface of rocks, endolithic lithophytes grow in the crevices.

    Really enjoyed this relaxing step by step video George. The tech on this tank is like nothing I've seen before. Auto water changes are the dream of every aquarist's back, no more lugging bucket ariund! Can't wait for the update! 🐟

    Great set similar to my own. K1 needs to run 24/7 otherwise the media may become stagnated. Change those metal jubilee clips for the plastic ones, they will quickly rust adding unwanted metals into your system. Other than that it's a great setup.

    Beautiful scape. I’d love to see it again after 6 or 8 months when the plants are fully established.

    Amazing job at the hardscape! Great job planting George! Can’t wait to see this grown in! I know they are overdone to some, but a big school of cardinal tetras would look amazing! Thanks for sharing mate!

    'Tis an amazing tank system and beautiful scape. It's funny, while I think the auto water change system is super cool and obviously convenient, I'm a bit of a weirdo and actually enjoy doing water changes--keeps me on my toes.

    He can add a little powerhead in the k1 compartment so it moves during the day as well.
    And depending on how you direct the flow you can minimise the surface agitation so you dont lose too much Co2

    Auto water changes are pretty common in large salt water aquariums. There's a number of systems to use. Most use the Neptune Apex. But you can also use stepper motor dosing pumps. Kamour and Reef Factory do the larger ones. There's so much automation in the salt water side of things that just seems to be ignored in the fresh water world. You can literally run an aquarium from your phone. Not for everyone I know, but it's just food for thought.

    I think the real advantage of these substantial filtration systems is not the freedom to overstock fish but the luxury to have a clear negative space while running strong lights.

    Brilliant tank. Did hear what size it is? I do like danials equipment on the bottom cupboard. Look forward too to seeing it mature in the next few months

    Copy paste from Britannica should be good enough for the hobby.
    "Epiphyte, any plant that grows upon another plant or object merely for physical support. Epiphytes have no attachment to the ground or other obvious nutrient source and are not parasitic on the supporting plants."
    All the best in 2024, Grorge!

    Ephryrites live on other plants and take moisture from them .java fern ,anubia,buce plants dont do that they just grow on wood and rocks independently so you brought up a good question i did look up but i didn't see a botanical term for them if you find out let us know ok

    • @alekkoomanoff7281
      @alekkoomanoff7281 6 месяцев назад

      Meaning of epiphyte is upon a tree like an orchid or bromeliad.Java fern and Anubias,Bolbitis occupy an analogous position in aquascapes. Lithophytes= upon a rock but epiphytic vs. terrestrial dichotomy means that epiphyte is the preferable default term as it's already in use.Grew orchids in greenhouses for 30+ years, mostly in pots, so epiphyte makes sense to me.
