Your ignorance gives you the need to call people names on social media and you formulate an opinion based on old facts that no longer apply which created an outcome for a company that no longer exists in the same form. or you use word of mouth to formulate your opinions. You then decide to spread that outdated information to social media for whatever reasons you choose to justify your uninformed statements. It's a fairly common in todays world. Whereas, I have evaluated this company based on their current situation, their current statements and current claims and balanced them off of my own professional knowledge of how these things work along with my growing sense of investing, and actually sat down and ran the numbers on paper. I choose to spread a factual current set of information on social media. I also chose to invest and purchase an Aptera based on soley factual information. Everything not factual that they haven't already proven or justified was discarded. I sincerely hope you don't ever get into investing until you learn how to sit down and look at purely factual information. Surprisingly that same skill also helps stress management which can help you feel better about yourself so you don't have a need to call people names or spread false information on social media.

Normally the manufacture of carbon fiber requires a lot of manual labor which is why it's very expensive so the project was not only a car development project but also a development project for machines used in the mass production of the carbon fiber body panels and space frame so they needed a huge up front investment.

Yah.... because we all have our own plane.... I know it was a joke, but still. Millionaires have no clue. I live off about $1300 CAD a month. The only car I might upgrade to in the future is an elio. I'll probably buy it used if I can. It would only save me $30 in fuel a month atm anyway. I have a small 4 cyl economy car. I paid $1400 for it used certified and etested and it's in good mechanical shape. So if I were to buy an elio (not including taxes and everything above $6800, it would still take me 6800/30 or 226 months to break even. I know that the actual payback period would be less then that. Perhaps 5-6 years because the elio would also need less maintenance and be cheaper to fix, but still. that's 5-6 years. The elio is still really great for people who drive more and have bigger trucks and SUVs.

I took his comment differently I guess. Sounded like it wasn't that he hadn't seen aerodynamic car designs before, but rather previous attempts looked like designs based on a typical car platform modified to be aerodynamic. This thing looks like a design where someone started out with an aerodynamic shell around seats, and then expanded that so it could act as a car on the road.

    • @badbeardbill9956

Probably meant the design is around aerodynamics, as opposed being around something else. The biggest issue with electric cars, beyond the price, is the range. Having better aerodynamics means you could get more range for a less expensive battery.

I love it! I love it! I love it! - I love the theory behind its inception, I love its looks & I love its performance figures. BUT!!! One big query arises.
Having the front wheels on outriggers looks great but it MUST impose limitations. My Mitsibushi Colt, like most cars, has a cabin width about the same as the overall car width. This is because the wheels are fitted inside the body, so the driver and passenger sit only just inside the front wheels quite comfortably. To move the front wheels out on outriggers must mean either severely narrowing cabin width or increasing overall car width significantly! Looks great, but must include a BIG negative to being a practical car. IMHO?

Did you note that the "AC" unit "tries to keep the interior temperature as close to the outside temperature as possible"... really? That's not AC, that's a FAN... so if it's 110 degrees outside, your "AC" is working hard to get the interior down to 110.... WOW, sign me up!

The solar cells run the AC vent fan to keep the interior ventilated when the car is parked. The fulll AC is different.
A lot of high end cars have that feature these days.
