Looking forward to your video with the architect!
That's great. It's much cheaper to build a custom home. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much. This is absolutely the best weather video I have ever seen anywhere.
Thanks so much 🙏. That is very kind of you.
Excellent information, thank you! We visited Cuenca last November and found the weather to be just as you described for that time of year. Light layers, a wide brim hat, sunscreen, and a travel umbrella for mild showers and intense sunshine. We love Cuenca! Enjoy!
Thanks very much 👍
Back to you, Mike, for the weather! Cheers! Looking forward to seeing other regions!
Lol thanks 👍
HI Kris and Mike, thanks for publishing this with Spanish subtitles. We're like # 76 for this video.
Thanks 🙏
I loved this video! It’s So full of pertinent information. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for your kind words and support 🙏
Thank you so much , so much more informative for location and actual weather! I think I like Loja.❤
Yes Loja looks great 👍.
Well researched and excellent presentation, A+!! Looking forward to your future vids!
Awe thanks so much. Very nice of you. Thanks for watching.
Ty! Wow you really put some work here. I've been trying to figure it out, but you have the maps I didn't know how to look for! Also didn't realize Ecuador has so many micro-climates!
Thanks for watching. Yes lots of microclimates.
I just love your research info, so awesome you saved me tons of time 😂
Thanks 👍
I just discovered you guys today and i am so glad I did. I have been looking at videos for Ecuador since 2015 and moved here in May of 2023.
Not once did I ever have a clue what the true weather was like because people would say things like it Is warmer or cooler or hot and muggy. Most times an exacto temperature would be given. With the information that was available I selected Cotacachi to move to because it was "warmer" the Cuenca.
I have been cold most of the time since I arrived and had to purchase a heater. Only pants and long sleeves for me. I came from Texas where the weather fluxuates a lot.
With your way of explaining the weather and climate I know understand where to look for my next place to live. Thank you so much for making this video.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. Glad you liked it. Take Care
Great vid
Thanks 👍
Such helpful info Mike! Thank you.
After spending 3 weeks in March/April this year ….a week in Cotacachi I thought it was chilly, a week in Sangolqui (valley just outside Quito) chilly mornings/evenings and then a week in Manta which was very humid and warm, I’m so undecided. I’m thinking Loja might be a good choice. 24° is perfect for me! Coming from Alberta, I want warm but not sweating and since I’m coming alone I want a good sized and somewhat social expat group.
Looking forward to doing some more exploring in Ecuador in February. Perhaps Cuenca and Loja to check them out. Can’t wait to be a snowbird!
Loving your videos!
Thanks 👍. Yes Loja may be perfect for you.
Great informative video. Me and my wife visted the coastal area last January. We are retiring to the Manglaralto area in October. Actually from what I experienced and see from my weather app on my phone, it is actually hotter in South florida where we live right now. I would say all during the summer the highs were 91- 95f daily, without the heat index. So, looking forward our move to Ecuador now.
Thanks for watching. That's exciting. It's pretty comfortable here now.
“About” tell me you’re Canadian without telling me you’re Canadian 🍁❤️
Lol 👍
Eh!
Great video. I like your data videos. I'm near Riobamba. I've lived in this area for 4 years. I think the climate is similar to Cuenca and Quito. I wear a short sleeve shirt and long pants everyday. In the early morning and evening, I usually put on a sweater. During the day, if it's cloudy and or rainy, it can feel chilly. If its clear and sunny, it feels very hot. In the shade it may be 70F, but in the sun it feels like 90F. I really like your supposition of context with what you are accustomed to. That really makes sense. For me the climate here is perfect. I am from Virginia. Super hot humid summers and cold dark winters. I don't like humidity, so la sierra is perfect for me. My house is higher outside Riobamba at 10,500ft. We have a woodstove for evening and morning. I still wear a tshirt out doors if sunny. If cloudy a long sleeve flannel shirt. Temperature here rarely above mid to upper 60s daytime. In 2 years at this location, I have seen about 6 frosts. Normally 40sF at night. Occasionally dips into 30s. Enjoyed your video. Thanks😮
Thanks Tom. It's great that Ecuador has a climate for almost everyone. Take care.
We are living crazy days lately 😂 sunny, chilly, rain 🌧️ sunny again.
Have a great weekend guys! 🩵✨
Thanks for watching my new friend.
I am a research junkie too I go there too
👍
Hi. I would love a video of 1 to 2 bedroom rents in Cuenca and Loja for single folks❤!
Yes people love our real estate videos. We live on the coast but when we travel we try to get a real estate video in.
I would be very interested in a video about your transition to retirement. I've got a few years left and I am worried about that transition... I'm thinking about all aspects including Shifting focus from work to projects or hobbies or volunteerism, Finances, etc...
Ok thanks for the feedback. Kris has just gone through it. She is adjusting well.
I would like to see things to do on the downtown area and cool places to go surrounding the city.
Thanks. We will shoot lots of footage in Cuenca.
I think you would be well served to stay longer, month at least in Cuenca, get adjusted to altitude. Lots going on, too.
Altitude didn't seem to bother us in Quito. And we love our coastal home area. 2 weeks is plenty for us. Thanks for watching
I am interested in videos about costs and process of moving to and living in Ecuador. The more the better. Would you be interested in doing videos on the topics of medical care/ prescription drugs, people with mobility issues/ wheel chair accessibility and home care / retirement homes? love your vids kris & Mike keep them coming. Changes in Latitudes changes in Attitudes. Margaritas and cheese burgers in paradise! RIP JIMMY BUFFETT🙏💔😢
Thanks for watching. Some great ideas there.
What's Ecuador like, talking about cost of living?
Depending on your lifestyle and choices about a third of usa or Canada. Thanks for watching
When my Visa for Colombia expires first week of Feb. 2024, I'd like like to cross a border into Ecuador. Is Manta the principal airport you'd fly into for coastal places like where you live? Thank you.
Manta for the northern coastal areas and Guayaquil for the rest. Many more options re flights etc for Guayaquil
Any chance you could put a link to where one might buy a weather station? Curious what they cost. Thanks for the video!
Where are you located and I will give you a link.
@@KrisandMike Arizona, soon to be Manta
Any info on senior expat women who are happy in Ecuador?
For sure. Tons. Join the Ecuador expats Facebook group and you will meet many.
