Amazing!!! Love this band so much hope to see you explore more of there discography! Between instrumental playtroughs and singing playtroughs Overall insanely talented band
Hah! Gotcha! I knew you wouldn't expect me to request anything like this. But, I do like this band, and this lead singer. I love the instrumental approach, and I appreciate the fact that Daniel's vocals are so varied. He can sing clean, use harsh vocals and growl. And, I don't mind growling in moderation, as long as it emphasises the meaning of the song. The video was the only thing I didn't really care for here, but I can understand why it was done this way, and when I don't like a video, I just scroll down a bit and just listen to the song.
Once it hit I was like.....WHAT!!! WOW! I'm glad you have expanded your taste. Tbh, seeing your journey of music has been a highlight of this channel. Its really been beautiful to see. To be able to talk about songs that have moved or, or even a simple "So...the growls weren't that bad." lol Its been a delight meeting and knowing you my dear friend.
I’ve watched dozens of reaction videos to this and no one felt what I did. Until I saw yours. YOU felt it and I could see you fully when the last few minutes played. I get it.
Tesseract is one of my favorites of all time. They always excelled in every album, but this one is a gem! Maybe it's not a music for everybody, due to the polyrhythms and other little intricacies, but once you open your ears and mind to dive in, it's hard to get back!!
My favourite band! Always on fire 🔥 ever since their 2011 release they have been the top band for me, all genres. They have a little of everything, lots of variation and stellar songwriting. Heavy on the rhythm section which I love, Amos on the bass is heavenly 🎉 and of course, Daniel Tompkins, the singer. His tone and control is unmatched. Their latest release last year was a great showcase of Daniel’s vocal abilities 🤩 check out the song “Legion”!
Thanks so much Tommy! Always a pleasure listening with you. I really appreciate everything you're doing with this channel. Tesseract is incredible! One of my favorites of all time. There's lots more where this came from!
TesseracT is not an easy act to dive in. The sheer amount of polyrhythms and ideas they put in one song is sometimes a lot. But It's rewarding once you get the gist of it. At least that is my experience. I didn't dive to deep up to now, but maybe I should. I knew this song before, and really love the djenty riffs. And the video of course...
Congratulations to your patreons. That was a great request. Mr. Daniel Tompkins is a wonderful singer. The whole band is so talented. It's one of my favourite music genres: progressive, melodic, and a little bit harsh. I recommend "Earthside - A dream in static" with guest vocal from Daniel Tompkins.
The vocalist gives me Chester Bennington vibes for sure. I enjoyed this, the drums were really good. Cool video as well. The melody was chaotic, and I think that's what I liked most about it. It was unorthodox in the best way.
I'd heard this before, and hearing it again still hasn't won me over. It has many elements that I should like it, just something isn't connecting me to it. Maybe I need to check out some more by them to see if one hits. If I can compare the same way I feel, it's the same with Dream Theater. I guess it's just a personal thing, we all have our favs.. and there is definitely music I like that probably many here wouldn't.
This song was especially for the “old fans” as it has a little of the feeling of every previous album in it and it was released as a first single off the album as a thank you to their old fans for sticking around they said. There are many easier and shorter songs to try out. Like Legion or Hexes
Most of the music I like probably wouldn't find many fans here. That's how it works. But I agree with Dream Theater. i never could connect with their music. That doesn't make it bad, just doesn't reach the right synapses in my brain.
I made it through about 2 minutes of this, and that was all I could take. I wanted to give them a chance, but I saw them about 10 years ago with Anciients opening(who we went to see), and also walked out during the first song. They're one of those bands where all I can say is they're tight, but to me, it's Emo-metal and way too self-absorbed, meaning that their passion is flying over my head and not hitting me in my soul. I also can't vibe with these super-polished, sterile productions. It sounds like a computer program to me. I suppose it's perfect for what it is, it just isn't listenable to me.
❤ One of my favorite bands.
This sounded great live too.

I had the same feelings when this first came out. Track knocked me straight on my ass. Glad you dug it!

I heard Chester as well! I'm glad you liked it.
Dan is way more versatile and controlled than Chester ever was.

@@Irmelinis thanks for the info 👍 I'll give those you mentioned a listen.
@DanTheSqueegeeMan we're all wired differently that's for sure.
