    After watching a lot of meal prep videos, i can say that yours is THE BEST !
    1. you did it for actually 7 days not for 5 like almost everybody do (and says that its for one week)!
    2. You made it really easy!! that you cant come up with an excuse to not do it!
    3. Keep doing them.
    You are amazing!! Love you :*

    There's a lot of comments about these meals being bland. I think the salsa and cilantro are great flavor enhancers, but I've got some more inexpensive ideas. There are pantry staples that you don't need to buy every week, such as soy sauce, hot sauce, peanut butter, spices, herbs, lemon or lime juice, ginger root, curry pastes, condiments, etc. You can easily add to these meals to switch up the flavor & textures without adding a lot of cost to your weekly budget. I always buy a big tin of pickled jalapenos for under $2, and it lasts me weeks. Another item that lasts for weeks is a $4 bottle of tahini. Use it to make various sauces that are SO YUMMY. I could definitely eat a Buddha bowl with lettuce, a grain, a few veggies, and a tahini based dressing every single night of the week. I paid $43 for food for my husband and I last week using these ideas. Good luck everyone!

    ❤️❤️❤️💚💚💚 This was a much needed video tutorial. So many people tell me that eating this way is expensive. We were so broke when I went vegan, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was. I mean, HELLO, you're not buying meat anymore!!!

    One thing I've learned since eating healthier is that it's always good to find a local store where you can get bigger supplies of lentils, brown rice, quinoa etc for cheap. If you always have that available in your cupboard you spend a lot less on the other fruits and vegetables that you buy during the week and just combine it :)

    Hi, Ive always wanted to meal prep for 7 days like this but I'm always so worried about how long everything will last in the fridge before they start to go bad.
    Can anyone who does this regularly please tell me if 7 days is really okay? Thank you😊

    • @egan3080
      @egan3080 7 лет назад +4

      You can freeze some of it

    • @KarenGarcia-lm7ch
      @KarenGarcia-lm7ch 7 лет назад +10

      shelloue perez I usually prepare my beans and freeze them in portions (I make them tasty with some seasonings and herbs), the rice or quinoa lasts in the fridge from 4 to 5 days inside a closed container away from the fridge's door. I chop my fruits when I'm going to eat them to keep them fresh, I only cut in advance the big ones like pineapple, melon and watermelon and they keep well in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge (also away from the door). when I prepare overnight oats I never add the fruit to prevent it from getting bad... I've found that I can steam broccoli and other harty vegetables in advance and they will keep well for up to 3 days, I never freeze them as to me their consistency changes, I also never freeze cooked potatoes because they get weird, on the other side, I peel, cut and wash igname and manioc or cassava and freeze them in ziplock bags and have them ready to cook them when I'm hungry. that's basically what I do when I meal prep. Hope you find it helpful!

    Thanks for proving that it can be inexpensive to eat vegan! By the way, you can get tomatoes this time of year wayyy cheaper than at Trader Joe's. A produce market will tend to have produce much cheaper and greater variety. At one place I frequent, they often have organic roma tomatoes for .99/lb., which is amazing. I basically only use Trader Joe's for produce to buy mushrooms, oranges, and organic potatoes. Sometimes other things of course but I do try to go to different stores to get the best deals.

    • @goodhelloeveryone7313

      you could have some bread with a bunch of seeds in it and you could put a bit of almond butter or peanut butter with fruits (I would personally put bananas but you could try berries if you like that with the nut butter or pears) on top, a glass of fresh fruit juice with it and it should be quite filling and nutritious

    • @goodhelloeveryone7313
      @goodhelloeveryone7313 7 лет назад +1

      of course it will be a bit more costly than oatmeal but you can get bread for not too much, same for bananas and the nut butter will last you ages

      I try to keep bread out of the house because it is such a "go-to" food for me... but I would like recommendations for a thin-sliced nutty-seedy bread - I just haven't been able to find one that is thin sliced, dense and very nutty-seedy. I'm not much into peanut/almond butters either - but that idea makes me think that avocado toast would be a good option!

      I live in the UK so I can't really say, I just pick some 7 grains bread at the store, I eat too much bread as well but I'm French, I blame it on my genes haha, you could have an avocado on its own as well if you wanted, for the healthy fats and then a ton of fruits and maybe a few nuts on the side?

    Interesting to say the least but it seems high in carbs and would cause a lot of bloat. Can someone educate me on this?

    - I think beans and rice should be the staple of the diet. Beans and rice are usually very cheap and affordable in the United States, costing only about $1.00 per pound of beans or rice. They also have high energy density, and the beans (specifically black turtle beans, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, black-eyed peas, and soy products) are complete proteins. For about $2 worth of beans and rice, you may make enough food for maybe 1-2 whole days. If you can make the food stretch for 2 days, then you can spend about $8 on just beans and rice. Peanuts are high in fat, with approximate amounts of protein and carbs; they also seem to be relatively cheap in the United States, at least where I live. They are much cheaper than almonds or cashews, so it is possible to buy bundles of unsalted peanuts to include fats into the diet. Then, you can buy whatever fruits and vegetables on sale at your time of year and location. So, it is possible to live even more frugally than $34.12. Where I live, Trader Joe's somehow has one-dollar frozen Brussel sprouts and one-dollar pastas. And Kroger has the Kroger Free Friday Deal. Many stores have circulars and coupons; use the coupons to your advantage.

    Great video. Its super hard for me to do breakfast though. I don't like fruit at all unless its blended so that's what Ive been doing is having smoothies for breakfast or snack. I have been vegan now since Christmas Eve of 2016. It has changed my life, your videos help so much, I lost 23 pounds so far and feel amazing! thank you.

    I actually appreciate how there are not any hidden ingredients. I know from other videos, they show a meal prep but then have other ingredients on the side for “flavour”.

    I loved your video Yovana. Unfortunately, here in Montreal our prices are double what you have listed. Therefore it would cost me $10 a day which is way over my budget. Perhaps this summer when everything is in season here. :D Thanks for the ideas though!

    I'm not sure that some of these will actually hold up to 7 days! Like frozen green beans. They will last 3 days AT MOST. What do you guys think?

    Love the video and the salsa. Reading through the comments Yovana is just showing you a basic 'the key' of losing weight idea...that's the point. I think it is a great idea. You can add spices to your likes where ever you want and with a low budget you can eat healthy and lose weight. I love it so much because for many years I was following vegans online and I couldn't afford what they were eating so I love these kinds of videos. You can be as creative as you want with the ingredients Yovana uses. She is just showing you the basic tools. Basic is everything❤

    Hello! I just discovered your channel this week. Lots of great ideas and tips for eating clean (and vegan, of course)! I generally eat clean, and most of my diet is plant-based. However, I am anemic, so I find that if I don't incorporate diary or meat (fish mainly) into my diet, I feel dizzy and lethargic. Any advice? Thanks! X :)

    This is wonderful but here where I live, what you bought in the grocery store will amount to double that. But that won't stop me still from eating healthy. By the way, how did you make the lentils? 🙂 @rawvana

    microwave your every meal? Id rather not meal prep meals if it means microwaving and storing in Tupperware for a full week. I'd prep all veggies and fruit ahead and cook but not Tupperware each meal

    Vegan eating can be expensive if you purchase a lot of processed foods, like vegan burgers and stuff like that. I find there are some staple it's like maple syrup, hemp seeds, nuts and seeds that I like to buy. They last a while so it's like a once a month purchase and then everything else is reasonably priced! Buying what is in season is important too! If a fruit seems unusually expensive it means it is not in season, so keep that in mind!
