My biggest hope is that WC focuses on optimization and back-end fixes rather than falling into their past mistakes of just adding new stuff. It's rare that a game gets a promising second chance like this, and I want to see it shine in the places that A:SE failed. Looking forward to the videos, don't burn yourself out!

I like the thick foliage, dense untouched forest with minimal visibility really gets you immersed in the primitive ark. The fear of creatures lurking you had when you played A:SE for the first time has been reborn. Gives me a vibe like the forest and I love that game
I've just got to say again, this game looks so stunning, the graphics are phenomenal, it feels so immersive from just watching this video.

After finishing the video, im loving this. The baby dinos may be a bit OP for the start and may be nerfed but I like quick easy tames tbh. The characters do look a bit cartoony but i dont mind it heaps. I think the reason you dont know you are dying is there are no longer dehydration and starvation symbols, I cant wait to play and I appreciate they buffed drops finally, hopefully my PC will be ablento handle it somewhat
Tbh, the biggest part of taming is getting the extra levels. So, at most, taming babies will just be for the early game in order to get berry harvesters. You still have the risk of the parents, so you need to kill them. And then you have the risk of the baby dying if you dont have the berries to feed it. But ultimately, its a waste to go out and tame a Max Level baby because you dont get the extra levels. So you're primarily gonna be aiming for the low level parents and babies anyway. Since if you can kill a 150, you're likely at the level to tame a 150.
there are symbols for food and water its all the same bro
@@viablezombie9419 yes but when you begin to starve or dehydrate, there is no special symbols in the bottom right, now it gives you a short message and flashes the water or food icons
I'm gonna be honest, I hope they don't let people increase their movement speed or those of their dinos. Because it's stupid that a person can outrun half the dinos in the game. And you can't have any meaningful engagements when everyone is running around slinging bolas while moving at Mach Jesus. I personally can't wait for it to come to Xbox so I can join a server and have an opportunity to join and have some fun on a PvP server.
I've watched rampy for a long time and I gotta say ark has changed so much
So far I’m really liking a lot of the changes, I’m just hoping they’ll use this as a chance to improve some of the older creatures with some more TLCs
the rocks cracking. and the models have had some update. more details like u can see them be more scaley. and the meg was lil diff aswell. sad the folliage flicker is still there but its not the bs like blue outline atleast. also the sun not blinding u. wayyy less fog. seems great so far
The largest difference is how the lighting physics fundamentammy work.
i dont like the ui and stuff, but the new shit looks amazing and the tek binoculars are so useful
This is how The Island looks, i heavily look forward to how Abberation and Fjordur look whenever theyre added.

I like the extra foliage! Ark always used to feel a bit barren compared to what one would expect in different biomes. This extra is great tho! Also adds to the difficulty a bit. imagine a raptor sneaking up on you and you only see the eyes through the leaves before it jump scares you!

The performance I've seen from RUclipsrs with 40 series cards and better cpu's than mine is such that I'm not even bothering touching the game. My rig isn't *terribly* outdated but I'm not paying for a beautiful slideshow with the same bugs and issues we had for nearly ten years in the original game.
I'm happy enough to watch and help you earn back the money you spent on it, but the fact that it's managed to stay at Mixed reviews on Steam from 1500 to now 7800 reviews says a lot, and they all mention the same performance and game-breaking bugs (including saves being deleted and the game crashing excessively).
Early Access is not an excuse anymore. ASE was Early Access for a stupid length of time and even after release they left in bugs that existed for years. This is a remaster of a game that was already fully made. If I went and redid Pong and called it an EA title I'd rightly get shat on for it on every form of media. Expecting optimizations or bug-fixes from the company that left even a third of what they did in ASE is.. more optimistic than I'd like, and to try and tell a viewerbase that with no caveats and such determination feels less like optimism and more like lying.

I get that the foliage seems thick but that's realistic. My job involves traversing wild areas no matter what the terrain and you can't see shit. 😅

I also have a 4090, and my pc managed to handle Ultra when I turned the rtx off. Ran smooth as butter, and managed to keep the other setting high. Maybe also check the foilage and fluid interactivity

I manage to get 60fps on a blend of medium to low settings with 2080ti at 1440p. Couldn’t consistently hit that range until I locked my fps though. Game may have some memory leak issues rn

Its pretty insane that even for those of us with a 4080/4090, or in my case a 7900xtx, getting proper fps is still a bit of a struggle with high graphics.

Ryzen 9, 3060 gpu and it is running fine on high. Occasional lag spike, but otherwise fine.
Looks really good, not quite a fan of some of the changes but thats just because im used to playing a certain way

u can now have multiple save games i think - so that ought to make having parallel worlds easier

Edit: 11 months later, I upgraded my pc to a 3060 and able to play on medium graphics the game looks amazing even on mid. Although it is very unoptimised and filled with more glitches than even ASE!
it looks gorgeous, but all i had to do was glance at steam reviews to know that my pc isn't ever going to be able to run this game with the settings it needs to LOOK that beautiful - fingers crossed they optimise it, but they never optimised the original so i'm doubtful.
in the meantime, i'll be happy enough just watching Rampy's videos :>

Kinda crazy all recent games except a few need at least series 30 when the series 20 is still very good. It just seems games are a lot less optimized. How in hell can baldurs gate run on a 1080 and alan wake 2 cant run on a 2060
What confuses the hell out of me, is that we had games that look as good as this years ago, Early FarCry for example that ran on what today is considered a potato. Yet now we've got this that runs pretty average after you spend thousands on a graphics card. Have programmers somehow forgotten the art. This game really doesn't look very cutting edge at all.

Night seems pretty bright! Is that a setting? I always liked the fear of the dark nights in ASE, and they looked really dark in the trailer. I’m super excited to play when I get home!

Well, recommended gpu is a 6800/3080. I have a 6700 xt which is the equivalent of a 3070, did not play it yet, but i saw benchmarks and it's not looking good, 60-70ish fps on low performance, 40fps on medium:) Gonna stick to evolved

I have a 7900xt gpu, i7 13700kf cpu. ASA is running great at arounf 100 fps all max settings. Am I special?
It does say as well that the minimum is 16GB of RAM and 32GB is recommended so maybe that would explain the lag? Graphics card is great and all but I've noticed with these games RAM is super important. I have a 16GB RAM laptop with a 1050TI graphics card so I can't play this game until I upgrade. My laptop's RAM died a little and now it's 12GB and even ASE lags a lot now for me. I'm worried if I tried to play this it would instantly crash my laptop lol.
But I do have to say even on lowered quality this game is still gorgeous! I look forward to watching it until I can get a desktop that can run the game!

I already forgot about ark survival evolved bro, these graphics are insane! This is a masterpiece.
I remember in early days of Ark SE, getting a pick axe in the beginning was a pain in the rear, sure you have to punch trees but your chances of getting wood were low, you are more likely to die than get a single piece of wood.
Though seeing Primitive means the game is a grind slog.
but chances are, this is gonna be one of those games with very slow development, shame that Primitive plus us left abandoned.
I think it will have quite quick development actually but let's see!
@@Rampy That is true, but I am looking at what is left behind. A new remake isn't always automatically better, the additions of extra berries is nice as making some of the dyes is annoying.
And yes, I am big on Primitive plus, so much missing potential plus no Tek to well if you know the community you understand.

Honestly I think ASA shouldn’t have been made. Glad it’s here but I don’t think it was worth the hype especially having to pay for it. I think they should’ve started working on ark 2 giving it all they said they’d be giving to ASA + dino TLC + new dinos + new engrams + more to do + wild babies + new hunting styles, etc.
Costs money to add all this stuff tho… moneys gotta come from somewhere.
