@@miketurenne7204 absolutely. They are great, BTW. I’m 5’11 and weigh 210ish. I wear an XL and it is a good loose fit. A large would be tight.

I’m happy with R1 TechFace & R1 Air. Granted, these cross-over pieces take a moment to find a place in the kit. Used in Spanish mountains and Arabian deserts. [humblebrag]

The Burgeon to me is like, but perhaps slightly better to me than a Melly. I'd add Senchi to your list, which I believe is not dissilmilar to the SkyGoat. Perhaps you can do one on Alpaca products if you have not. They (to me) are more cold weather than what you have compared here (maybe Alpaca and wool ?)

    • @rootsandpeaks

Great ideas! Senchi is “alpha” material, so not like the Skygoat, but it is certainly on my list. And Alpaca is another interesting textile!

I'd like to try a Burgeon but I'm 6'7" and only 175lb (like a beanpole). With my REI Sahara hoodie they have M Tall and L Tall sizes to choose from. But for sweatshirts Burgeon only has the normal SMLXL, SkyGoat doesn't have a Tall till you get to XL Tall, and Patagonia only has SMLXL. Usually I need an XL to get the sleeves long enough; but then I'm swimming in it. 😑
Edit: After contacting Burgeon I found they do have LT in almost everything *except* the Highlander hoodie 😆, but are willing to work with me on adding sleeve length to their normal sizes if need be.
Looking at their sun hoodie now too.

Rudy, the owner of @burgeonoutdoors is also a tall (I’d guess 6’4”) guy. You might want to reach out to them about your dimensions and see if they have a size that would fit for you. They are really great.

@@rootsandpeaks Thanks for mentioning, I'll do that.
      Sorry for the rant.
I spent far more time just trying to find clothing/shoes that fit than anything else. Usually it's not buying what I want it's more buying what I can find to fit and by then color is whatever is leftover.
When I was 60lb heavier it was less of an issue. Except I had to carry that extra 60lb around with me.
It's like putting your pack on then throwing a costco bag of dogfood on top of that; lot lighter on mah feets not having it.
But now I can't find clothing anywhere. 🤣
So you live longer and go broke looking nice or you just give up and look like a clown. There's no winning.

@@rootsandpeaks Got an email back from them and they have an LT in most other things but they said the Highlander also runs small, and they can add cuffs to it to get the sleeves longer.
      That's pretty cool.

How does the highlander compare to the Pemi?

    • @rootsandpeaks
      @rootsandpeaks  3 месяца назад

Well, the Highlander is better with airflow. If you run hot and are looking come something to keep you warm even when you are active I would suggest the Highlander. The Pemi is a tighter weave, and it’s better if you run colder, IMO. They are both well made, but I much prefer the Highlander. I purchased and own both.
