Bought ingredients today and making this right now - smells great already! UPDATE - This turned out amazing! I added about 1/4 more oil to make it last and maybe dilute the heat a little. But this recipe has replaced any over the counter chili oil - just such an amazing subtle but sublime delicious flavor.
I watched this video thoroughly & I will follow the recipe to the T & do very soon. I was also amazed that after frying all other important ingredients in 500ML hot oil, you throw them away! But loved all video & learned a great lots. Thank you chef Palden La.
I like to start the oil cold with the onion and garlic in it then fry till golden. I think it brings out more onion and garlic flavor in the oil but its just my preference. After you removed the garlic and onion as long as the oil went over 250 degrees it should be safe from botulism too.
