Your uncles are the reason I started BJJ back in 94. You guys are the ones who brought me back and keep me learning. Thanks!
You 2 guys are the reason i started BJJ, i really hope i do this my whole life bc i love it
Their uncle Royce was the reason I started. They ARE the reason I stick with it.
Awesome man!
Same here
same
Please stay with it when it gets hard!! You will be glad you did!
Extremely profound. Thanks. I'm 49 yrs old and I had my first Gracie Combatives class yesterday. I'm totally hooked and plan to do this for a very long time.
I can't thank you guys enough for the positive energy, sharing this Art, and such detailed breakdowns of not only positions but concepts as well.
Thanks again guys!
The proudest white belt in the 🌎
Such a pleasure to sit with the Masters!
These videos are great gems 💎
OSS! 🌺
You guys are the best duo. Great, clear teaching. I took 15 years of Japanese Judo. I love your style. I have been modifying my technique accordingly.
Amazing teachers. Ryron and Rener are great at explaining everything so clearly. They are just like their father.
Ive been waiting for this one. Thank you both. Also, I have been traveling 2hrs South to the closest CTC and working hard to bring that knowledge back to the Fort Campbell area and want to open the next “Gracie Garage” soon! And maybe, just maybe, if these two keep motivating me like they do, work toward opening the first Gracie CTC here in town!( had to do something after a bad experience at the local Renzo camp, guess after seeing you two, I expected a warm and welcoming school, which I can definitely provide when my skill level matches my motivation level).# keep it seriously playful
You two guys are inspiring with what you do!! The biggest!!
Control is the use of 02 principles, acceptance and kuzushi?
Is it way better against a bigger enemy?
I listen to this 4 part seminar over and over its become my music all day. Because i can work and listen. For some reason i always get something out of it. The light gets brighter. Im not to bright. lol thx
this video is v underrated, people dont realize how vital it is knowing technique like such
Wow, great description of some problems in my game! I fear being on bottom with bigger opponents, so I over-tighten, burn energy, and sometimes get rolled. The example where I take back and end up losing it is very typical for me. Thanks!
I love this series. It's a tad advanced for me but I try to follow. I am really into martial arts. Peace. Mike.
Wow this section really sounded similar to catch wrestling, funny how much grappling is the same. Great channel you guys have got, I love the videos!
had to go back and watch parts 1/2 this is amazing knowledge i just want to absorb it all,
Thank you. I feel safer when i know how to defend myself. Keep going guys
Dynamic control, interesting combining pressure and flow and knowing when to use what.. Thanks!!
can totally relate to the "feel" part! i say "feeling your opponent feels good"
Fluid. Flow like water, like Anderson Silva said.
Wow.. A+++ video. This is what im lacking
Ben Askren is a great example of open control mastery.
Great 👍🏼 Demonstration of Control!
Great info! Thanks for sharing.
i was forced to roll like this these last few weeks since my hand is in a cast and im only using 1 hand. forces me to not hang on all the time. i hope i can keep these habits after i heal up
Cormier and khabib and askren are good cases in point at this
Boa tarde. Seria interessante para nós, os brasileiros que seguem o canal, uma versão em português para obter mais detalhes das explicações ou se possível uma legenda. Seria muito bom! Obrigado
These dudes are my idols
MASSIVE freaking education here in side control.
Do you feel this type of awareness and movement is possible for someone who is new/early whitebelt? I’m loving these videos but wonder if I am trying to learn calculus when I don’t know my multiplication tables yet. I want to learn to “float”-to me it looks like he is surfing. On the rare occasion I’m on top, I am definitely only locking down, as much from lack of knowing what to do as fear. Any advice for newbies? Because right now I’m very much in survival mode, not even attempting (usually) submissions. So I have been working on being calm in my defense. But beyond that how do I practice this top control of I can get to it yet...or is that something only time and practice will get me. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge!
Laurel, I think that you'll see by being calm in your defense and by being comfortable in those "bad" positions, it will open stages of this series up for you. Escapes will start to open, maybe you'll apply a sweep and end up on top for a minute where you can practice strategies from Part 3. Not all of this has to land all at once , and remember, these are concepts. The more techniques you learn, the more you can plug those into the drilling or sparring and the doors will start to open for you. This is more like addition, but most people don't take the time to understand the complexity within fundamentals. You don't need as much as you think you need if you have a strong philosophy and know how to apply it. Be patient and dedicated and this kind of jiu-jitsu will take you wherever you want to go!
Hello. I got a Question. I know theres not only Groundfighting in Bjj. Could you make a Video about Fighting in Standup-Position too please. I know it's a complete Art, so I would like to see some Selfdefence-Techniques you use in Standing Position.
Great stuff! 👍👍
Excellent advice.
Really helpful thanks, you guys.
Thank you for sharing this!
When's the SUBMIT part coming out? Plus, how soon will all 4 practical seminars be uploaded on the Gracie Philosophy part of the GracieUniversity.com website?
Gracie jiu-jitsu 🙏
I don't know the rules of Bjj but we learn a lot of this control in judo because you can win by a 25 second pin. If this rule is in Bjj you would get a bigger emphasis on this. Great video though.
For some reason when he said "submissions" at the end, I heard sandwiches. Sounds like a great idea!!
🙏🏼😎
Amazing
thanks for that
What happened to the north torrance
Do a Gracie Breakdown on my street fight on my channel! It’s dope 😂💯.
Fighting in the street with gloves on doesn't mean its a street fight. Good job tho. 👍
True Jitsu Yeahh my b, I probably should’ve worded it different lol.
Ryan Craig you had so many opportunities to take the rear ahhh
Ryan Craig good fight tho b
Ryan Wolf I know. But I was debating on how I wanted to end the fight so i kinda messed myself up mentally lol. But thanks!
5:50 Moving like a Spider.. Worldclass
Your response to the Refino Dos Santos documentary sorry guys but I am shocked by the actions of Carlos Gracie and his brothers this is a Fully documented disgrace of the Gracie family. The actions of 3 Cowards does not reflect on what great humble men you are but it is just a shock that this fully documented video apeared.
Defend escape
Shit I needed this.
Awesome video. 👍 But why are you guys in pajamas? Are you having a sleepover? Well, you two fellas be safe. Don't want to see anybody get poked in the eye.
😉👈
FIRST!
3:50 gets me all the time :(
