I use the first version as a white “laser” pointer on internal building construction sites with medicore ambient and it works great with a camera to highlight an area that I could not do well otherwise. Handy little light!

Great lights, But I will never buy another one again. The issue I have is with the power button on the side. I can't tell you how many times I've been walking at night trying to hit that, and can't tell the difference between that and the charger flap. There is no real distinct way to tell in the dark. Lights are great, but that's simple thing is idiotic to me. I even had to cut the rubber flap off the charging port just to be able to tell which button turns the light on.

Just to clarify, both the power button and the flap are on the same level on the light. When it's completely dark you can't distinguish which is which

I can help with that...while it's off hold power button until it turns on keep it held until it turns back off the power button will then be illuminated.

You need to charge both and atleast make another comparison video..i can tell you the original mini wasnt pumping out all of its power..you said it was purple it was already in conservation mode and about to start blinking ..original mini throws further.and at more intensity than the v2.
