  • I was born in Grenada, but I'm African. My bones will bury here in Tanzania. Africa has everything, Africa doesn't need anything. All Africa needs is expertise, capital, and those who are dedicated to building it..
Come, visit Africa, and make your contribution. The ancestors are calling us back home.

Wow, Wow, Wow. Love it. I made my first trip to Africa in 2018. What an experience. I came with Zero expectations and got Everything. Not knowing that I would be changed forever. I felt so one with my maker there. I knew then I had to live in Africa after that encounter . What you said about not having an attachment to the country you were born in, I feel that as well. I have not been the same since leaving and it is my intent and desire to move to the continent. I thank you for sharing

I went to ghana 3 times from January 2024 to now I am heading there for my fourth time in November. I love it there and the cost of living there is very cheap. Even those of us (of a certain age) born in the US, but have southern roots can identify very well with the indigenous practices and foods on the Continent. Although I was born and raised in NYC, I was raised by southern parents who taught us a lot of the old ways. We grew up eating fruit with seeds, trucks used to come from down south to NYC filled with all kinds of wonderful foods from the south. So it's not just our Caribbean brothers and sisters, some of us still know the old ways too.

Brother, you are African, until you speak then someone will know you are from the diaspora. I am African and was watching a few Gold Cup soccer games being staged in Canada and here in the US and when you see the Jamaican, St Vincent, Martinique and many other island teams you could change the country name to Benin, Ghana or Malawi and no one would notice.
I totally get you when you say people from the Carribean will find it easier to adjust because the conviniences in the West creates a challenge for those who want the easy life. Its that simple. If you want everything modern already in place for you then maybe Africa may not be for you unless you have deep pockets. I get your anguish about Chinese construction projects. Please note in most cases these are Chinese State funded infrastructure development companies undertaking these projects. Our governments lack the foresight to develop huge national companies to focus on roads, electricity. Citizens would be happy to see their taxes used in such a way.
As individuals we lack trust in one another ( whether thorugh experiences or heresay) which makes it difficult to pool resources as other groups especially Indians and Chinese do. The moment we realize we can pool resources then the continent will grow. This is essentially how the West has been developed. Instead of the state doing it as in China - strangers pool their resources via Initial Public Offerings, Venture capital etc and the accumulated capital helps spearhead developments. On the continent our capital markets are not that deep in most countries any I feel the State just has to get involved in a huge way.

Thank you for sharing this video. I'm going to apologize first off for my lengthy post but I feel it's necessary.
I'm in Ontario, Canada in the city of mississauga or peel region. I am witnessing an influx of refugees seeking asylum from african countries most of them from Kenyan. From the airport they end up at homeless shelters to wait for housing placement I'm guessing. They show up at the shelter daily only to be met with there is no room. Many are turned away because they have no room. So they are left with no choice but to wait at the front desk they even go as far as sleep on the floor of the front lobby.
Something is not right here. This is not confirmed but when ask what is going on in africa someone said Many are claiming they are LGBTQ. Even if they are not many see this as a ticket to move to "greener pasture". Pitty they dont know what they are up against.
Does not look pretty and I'm getting a bad feeling from it. Nothing on the new over here about it. This is so sad as here I am wanting to leave so badly and here are my people moving here with no awareness of what they are actually walking into. Oh i wish they realize they have all they need on the mother land. In Jamaica they saw cow don't know the use of its tail til him lose it.

Buoy, what can I say, Canada is gone... the Canada we knew has become a welfare and refugee state. I honestly see some things taking place in Canada that just blow my mind. Many newcomers only see the visuals, but Canada is morally gone.. I can't wait to get out completely.

@@cas6996I'm Kenyan. Globally travelled and dual citizen of US & Kenya. Take this word from me. Unless it's the somali looking or the very dark chololate South Sudanese refugees from Kenyan refugee camps, ALL the rest of Kenyans are lying under LGBT to get an easy Asylum and Canadian Citizenship. Take this to the bank. Kenya has a thriving LGBT in the big cities and nobody hunts them down. They are silently tolerated. NOBODY has hunted a single one of them down. Kenya is top 3 subsaharan economy with very progressive policies. That's why all the data you hear from western world about different parts of the world, you take it with a grain of salt. As of now, Canadian govt knows Kenya is " persecuting LGBT community" based on those " asylum" seekers. The same way UNICEF flaunts hungry kids from the few conflict countries in Somali and Congo as the " entire Africa".

U right, we can do it ourselves. But as a group, black people don't believe in themselves. They're still waiting on JESUS to solve their problems.

I believe you're taking it out of context. He's not diving African diasporans. What he's saying is that the foods African diasporans cook and eat in the Caribbean are more similar to the way Africans do it. Black Americans' diet are more aligned to European diets due to their proximity to a colder region that does not produce tropical foods. Like cooking bananas, yams, beans, etc.
