Every time you come back to the simplicity of “I am God also, I choose experience”, once you get back to that simplicity, it frees up a lot of energy to actually have experience, rather than try to understand what experience is. It’s not about getting to the other side. It’s about how I am in this moment taking that next step, no matter what the outcome is.
Perfect.thank you
What are you on about
Dollar store version of God.
You are God. Humans are all Gods. *not being sarcastic*
I believe in God. I'm not sure why some people seem so sure he does not exist and/or cannot have consciousness. Plenty of scientists believe in God. And plenty don't. But it's not a vote.
I think God is the collective conscious of all the matter in a universe during those moments before a big bang. It learns from the previous universes and tries to improve it the next time.
Speak louder
They can't even define god so how could they possibly answer the question "can science explain god".
We already went through this with Stephen hawkings. At the the end he had thoughts of a designer of the big bang.
any reference for this?
@@AK_UK_ it's the same lie everyone tells about random scientists who happened to be atheists
They all come to similar conclusions at the end.
Interesting to hear in the searching of this conversation so many themes mirrored by the story of Genesis. According to Genesis God did create man because of loneliness, he did flip on the switch, and he does speak our language. How/why does he speak our language? Because we are made in his image. Why are we made in his image? Because he was lonely. Either the story is true, or the people who wrote it were asking the same questions - so many years ago.
I was so sure your comment was bs…but I kept reading. I thought I knew were it was heading. It did a 180’ at the end. Nice.
@5:54 But an emergent property of our mind is not a physical thing. Thoughts are not physical, despite having physical correlations in the brain.
It's maybe easiest to articulate it as you articulate light, in that it can be a wave and a particle. Humans (as a data engine rather than a static data model like a water bottle) are perhaps particles of the wave which is the 'hidden data model' to which the video speaks of. The water bottle is a data model as well, but obviously not as complex or as active or participatory broadly speaking. It's very interesting stuff. 🙂
The equation has to be preformed by registering affect of acknowledgment or denial and studying brain activity, add in psychedelics for a third branch, after that you have a good base for discussion.
Get Jonathan Pageau on here for some religious discussion.
minus religion; hey what about Dr. Oyibo theorem?
"And it is We who have constructed the heaven (anything above earth)with might, and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it".
I’m new to Lex, can someone help me out? What is his faith or is Lex agnostic? Thank you
Yeah I think I'll let those guys talk while I go back to Henry Corbin's work on Ibn Sina... Thank you for mentioning the necessary being so early.
I think god is on a level that we just can’t understand.
For example I know that time doesn’t really exist the way we think it does. But there’s a difference between knowing something and truly understanding it. Somewhere in that confusion is where god lay
That is basically what the Hebrew Scriptures say……even at the End of Job God goes on and on about everything he has created and how Job will never understand how God works also he tell Job don’t even try to understand why the bad things happened to him.
I don't much like it when people say, "It depends on what you mean by "God." Of course it depends. I'm asking you. If there was someone that actually knew, we'd know about it already and we'd be talking to them. Stop injecting other people's interpretations into the conversation in order to divert the conversation away from your own interpretation. If I say, "Do you believe in God?" then I'm asking you what you believe and you can ask me what I believe. We're talking about our own faulty ideas here. So many people want to bash other people's idea of God. I already did then by coming up with my own interpretation, which I'm happy to share. Tell me about yours.
actually liked this conversation about God .. normally i don't like these type of discussions . .but you all had something to say and add ... doesn't mean we have a better understanding now . .but at least the ideas are on the table .. the idea of God . .and that there might actually be indeed God .. comes into play .. ideas are one thing .. but the actual entity is a whole other story .. for jews and christians they have the bible to look at .. and other religions have there book to look at .. not sure what to make of all of that .. i don't think the bible talks about an idea of God .. but to present God as an actual living entity .. which then seems to bring in a whole other dynamic .. a collection of ideas is one thing .. an actual entity seems to be completely different ..
Can science explain the innate resort to seek help from a higher power when humans are in a state of extreme desperation, sometimes life or death?
Seems like War veterans all share the same experience
Check out “The Scientific Proof of the Existence of God” , William Hatcher, 1994
God is consciousness. The first and always consciousness. He created everything through sacred geometry and we humans are the ultimate test of freewill. I don't think we're doing very well lol. My best to everyone 🙂
" Joseph Garcia" you don't see how clueless you are to the hypocrisy in your statement.
@@jaay816 Many people have had the experience of gnosis. We all have the same knowledge, but not all the same degree of experience. Of course it can't be expressed accurately in words, so when someone tries they appear to bring down the universality by their matter of factness. But don't get it twisted, the experience of the divine is very much accessible, although not through those back and forths. I recommend the works of Henry Corbin, a sublime and humble writer on those topics.
@@jaay816 I agree. I think they are just using god as an umbrella term for reason, beginning and other things God is apparently responsible for. I think the perimeters that cover God will shift no matter what we find in the universe just as we always have
Hello
Trying to explain what God is with words only places limits on that which has no limits. God must be experienced.
I think being a scientist runs the very real risk of causing doubt about something who’s very existence requires blind faith and belief…
The belief is blind but the faith isn't. Once the belief is established it becomes a lense by which that which is observed either bolsters or diminishes that faith.
your eyes and your mind can not perceive that which is not abiding under your eyes or under your mind...and if God exists then only those that seek him out in every drop of humble truth, with calm questions and quiet patience will perceive his great arm when he extends it.
Lex, I'd love for you to talk to a religious leader about free will and questions like these. Always harder for people outside of religion to find voices like that. I don't even have any ideas in mind, maybe Bishop Barron
It's really hard to talk about this topic unless you have had a mystical experience. 5meoDMT is usually the fastest and most efficient way. Before that, it is too theoretical and not grounded enough in qualia.

@@mikestaub do u believe it proves there is a spiritual world
@@chucklombardo8167 no, not "proof" per se. It is just an extremely important piece of evidence that there is something going on with consciousness that so far has not been accounted for in science. What it means is anyone's guess at this point.
@@mikestaub what if the universe creates the consciousness in our brains
In my universe God is the force or collective of forces that gave rise to the very first particle and the emerging universe we find ourselves in. The same force or forces that allow abject experience of life itself.
Is really strange how ppl can believe all this life and space made by luck and alone....matter does not create life ... life creates matter
I am dumb so someone please correct me. If science believes in the multiverse that every possibility plays out does that mean at least one of them universes has a god? In fact more than one universe and more than one god? I think I have heard science speak about other universes having different conditions even down to physics. I have heard other dimensions could have different conditions even down to physics. So why can't a god exist? Wait... In the multiverse how could every possibility play out because their would have to be a universe that is not apart of the multiverse? Which isn't possible to have something that has a possibility of not existing lol.. :/ or do I need to do more research? I did none...
@shone bermuda my guy we can’t even answer what „infinity“ is and if „our“ universe is infinite and how it works. I think it‘ll take a Long Long time before when can even grasp what a multiverse would mean and how it would function
Science is a method for understanding reality. There is no preference considered in that process, when done properly. The result is reality.
You can't answer the question of whether or not there was a deliberate action that resulted in the universe that we observe without understanding more about reality.
I don't like to think of things as close to me or far from me. I like to think of things as close to each other and far from each other. There's currently a limit to how close objects can be to each other and us still be able to interact with those things, ie subatomic particles, and things that are very far apart, the so-called edge of the universe where galaxies are moving away from us faster than the speed of light due to the expansion of the universe. Essentially, our ability to gather information is looking to be limited, and will likely make it impossible to understand the true nature of reality.

God, The Master Physician 💯😎
the universe is everything that exists, and it has always existed.
Quantum physics says everything is vibrating and everything boils down to vibrations. So I think the Bible agrees with that.
@@davidleblanc1811 yep just a theory about blue print for creation. God spoke everything into existence. The very first thing he did was great light through speaking. So sound is vibrations and vibrations are also know as waves and wave frequencies are know as light. So it makes sense that light was the first thing created considering everything was spoken into existence. I could be wrong and I only have a very elementary understanding of quantum physics but I do believe God and science agree more than people might be aware of. Hopefully that makes sense or at the very least you can see where i’m coming from. But I do believe if you take the Bible literally and believe creation happened the way the Bible states it aligns with quantum physics.
sounds like the lady doesnt want to be judged. but she will
Occam's razor: the simplest explanation is the best. Instead of presupposing that must be some other more sophisticated philosophy about explaining the origin of the universe than the Bible maybe it is more simpler straight line between A and B to assume that the Creator simply authored the Bible through his Divine Providence because he wanted to make the truth accessible to us. And then through it further Act benevolence he took on human form 2 make the truth of his existence even more accessible and relatable. When you guys have these exchanges, it's almost as if there is an underlying presupposition that that must not be true.. the Bible is not a compilation silly stories but rather, it is the most complex enigma that, in my experience, seems to continually unfold itself as I continue to study it as if it were alive , so to speak. .. the Bible is indeed for the intellectual mind. And for the simple alike
That ending statement, "I believe in God, but i dont want to be one," shows humility. The arrogance of the hard liner science & tech people is they feel they able to construct god from scratch. That is no god. It is Necromancy they (or Lex in this clip) are talking about. To discern "Godness" quality you need to humble yourself.
Lol try to listen more carefully. He literally said the opposite. "I dont believe in God, but that doesn't mean I don't want to be one"
@@jdoe37362 In that case...He's got the necromancer mindset.
God has ALWAYS existed.. So what.. What's the problem with that? Our very existence and everything about it is far more bizarre than that.
I need to get back to smoking weed
God is a consciousness that brought organization from the chaos. God is embedded in anything & everything from a macro to a micro level.
not just embedded but is in smaller developing scale
Short answer: no.
hey what about Dr. Oyibo theorem?
Can science explain God? Other than the concept of “God” that’s defined by man, scientist first have to be presented with actual, demonstrable evidence of “God”. So far, in my 65 years, I haven’t been presented with that evidence and don’t know of any scientist that has. Give scientists actual evidence of God, and then they can go to work coming up for explanations for God’s existence, etc.
Simulation
Fine-tuning of the universe, mathematical precision of space, consciousness. Perhaps these are evidence of God.
@@seanbs I believe this too. The mathematics of it all are enough. Take some psychedelics and then the veil is lifted and you see just how much mathematical precision there is that we can't normally see.
@@breezyncj psychedelics wont proof anything, I’ve taken quite the load of shrooms and acid but I’ve never felt any connection to a higher being or see a connection between something and god.

Science can indeed explain God but you have to be in the consciousness realm of Thoth the Alantean to be able to do it.
Science is in its infancy stages right now. Not yet equipped
So, what the mature stages are? Can you elaborate? Is the super computer civilization age means science has reached the mature stage?
@@faithhopecharity2843 Phenomena would be considered a maturing stage of science.
hey but science already proved God with Dr. Oyibo theorem
All of these questions will be answered by AI when we can make one strong enough with enough basic knowledge combined with known variables. It could simply simulate an infinite number of different possibilities and we would be able to see everything that ever happened and everything that ever will happen.
The Universe Exists
"God=the universe" is an ignorant comment because the universe includes every material thing including you and me. It strikes me as if they think they are being more "reasonable" by saying this when in actuality they are making a category error and false assumption.Semantics is critical for all truth.
