Excellent job with the video I must say it was quite strange the way your yellow upper control arm Cam alignment mark reappeared on the Cam lobe after not being there during reinstallation.🤔
No the metal parts of the bushings should go in dry and have a tight fit this is because they need to bite into the flanges of the bracket so that the bushing can do it’s job of keeping the alignment and having proper suspension travel and make sure you don’t put grease or silicone on the camber bolt either That is meant to be dry too But it would be okay to put a very small amount of silicone on the rubber to keep it from drying out DO NOT USE silicone or petroleum based lubricants (Grease) when installing suspension components as it’s almost all suspension components are a press fit that are meant to be installed dry
Don’t you want to wait to torque the upper control arm bushings until after you’ve set the vehicle down. I thought it best to tighten them with a full load as not to tear the bushing. Is this correct
It’s because the videos are done as a series and there a video on changing the brakes probably decided to do them at the same time and just make cuts in the video
No you can’t use lubricants when a part needs to be press fit The ONLY time lubricant should be used when Installing a suspension component is if the manufacturers instructions say so This is because the friction is the only force holding the bushing inside of the control arm and if grease or lubricants are used it can reduce friction and can cause the bushing to spin inside of the control arm rendering the bushing and control arm useless and ruined so you would have to start all over again Also I could be extremely dangerous for that kind of failure to happen while driving as the bushings help keep the wheels camber and alignment correct

Was this truck recovered from the ocean? Never seen such a rust monster.
Up here in the rust belt that that’s considered “factory condition” 😂
I’ve seen entire crossmembers that have rusted off
That truck is considered brand new in Michigan, that’s barely any rust lol
@@randomdude3567 A little different here in southwest Colorado.
Should you put silicone lube on the bushings where they interface with the metal mounting bracket on the frame?

Great job, thanks for sharing your work!
Nice and snug…always works👍
Nice work
I enjoy your videos and find them informative. But on this one, you seemed to changed vehicles or calipers and cam washers

Great Video, Stright too the Point.. Thanks....
Video on how to replace the lower control arm I need to replace bushings on it
Very well done.
Great video.
Like you explain it fast an easy
What wheels and tires are these?!
Did someone weld that brake caliper back together?
Do 1999 bunching fit a 1998 ?
Could u please tell me how many ounces that dead blow ball peen hammer is?
maybe a little lubrication before the press?
