Great Job. Be kind to those steering knuckles. No one makes those anymore. Those wheel hub bolts are special sized, and I think only chevy has em. They tend to round off instantly. Usually you have to grind/cut the heads off to get the hub out.
@@moises9900 I've been reading that the lower control arms from an AWD Astro will fit the GMT400 k1500 trucks as a direct replacement. They are available new, I haven't taken the leap yet, but I've seen LOTS of people saying they fit and work just fine.
Since you are doing a full front end disassembly to re build, either lifted or stock height, take a good look and cleaning to the upper control arm mount area. There is a chance you can nock out a couple C clip style plates that narrow the alingment and once you knock them out the upper control arm will hame MUCH MORE adjustability. It depends on the year and its not really a standard across the board but one of those cool little tricks that might work if you got it.
@markeithdavis93 Check out the video we made. We explain it at the 8:00 min mark. 88-98 Chevy K1500 front end rebuild with Mevotech TTX ball joints and tie rods ruclips.net/video/VQ6Y5VoUQBw/видео.html
For anyone looking at buying the mevotech upper control arms and upgrading the ball joints, I just recieved one with a bolts and one with rivets. They can be ground off but you will need an angle grinder
Due to a accident, most of the removal is mute, upper arm for sure, buddy said not to worry about lower, so I am replacing upper, C.V joint and both ball joints and just for kicks the hub as that tire took the brunt of the hit.

Hey. I'm trying to remove my lower control arms on my 1994 k150p Sierra. There is a bar located on the large hexagonal shaped area on the left side of the control arm in the video. Do you know how to remove that bar itself? This is the most helpful video I've seen. You have the same suspension I do. Just without that bar.
Meanwhile, I’m stuck on step one for 4 1/2 hours with a torch, a sledgehammer, a WHOLE LOTTA f-bombs…after burning through a half bottle of blaster and my only impact driver.
So do I have to remove the front differential in order to remove the lower control arm? Or can I just take everything off and hang the cv joint on the frame?
@Fewestbark970 gaming ! We just had to search junkyards across the country eventually found some in Oregon. We do have a passenger side one that we will sell that's stripped down and ready to go. Here's some pics: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-16MqHqspLVI_4Igp24gBecQUOv-1vk-?usp=sharing
