Well good humor is understood by like 25-30% of the population and there's your answer! This humor is too intelligent for most of the people, it requires previous knowledge.
Woody Allen and Martin Scorcese are incredible they're both very talented on portraying us, we, humans, people and life as it goes. All the feeling, sadness, loss, happiness, dreams, struggle, pain,... they really feel it all and know how to share all this to the audience
Boring, pseudo-intellectual, non-romantic Romance. I really was pissed to have wasted time on this one. And I really had no emotional movement during watching it. So: no, I don't share your opinion.
I was too young when I saw it at 16 years of age. I didn't understand it much so couldn't appreciate it. I think if I saw it now at 62 I'd appreciate it more.
As Balzac said: There goes another novel..... And an immortal masterpiece of universal cinema. Woody Allen, a genius filmmaker, Diane Keaton, a marvelous dream actress
Daniel Gomez this is an interesting comment...I recommend you see this movie -- maybe ease into it by playing it while you're doing something at home, let it wash over you

In most of his masterpieces, Woody Allen takes for himself the most annoying, non-stop-talking, neurotic characters, and let's the other actors to shine with the most compelling, warm and interesting ones.
@@georgevila1778 Funny you mention star wars. I was twelve when it came out and I remember watching and loving Annie Hall in the movie theater and getting so annoyed at all the distracting rumbling coming from the theater next door that was playing Star Wars.

I can't stop my self watching this film! Very very creative, hilarious, experimental and fresh. But I think this was ahead of it's time. It should be made near 2005. Because people started to appreciate movies like Napoleon Dynamite.
I feel like Woody Allen's the only guy who's been able to do 'rich white New Yorker' movies where it doesn't just feel completely alien to the point where you can't engage with it the way you're supposed to, the fact that they're quite light and not deadly serious probably helps with that
Isn't as well that he is the only one often playing the "socially awkward" guy instead of the usual overconfident NY dandy that we usually see in other films?
You're contradicting yourself. To say one is better than the other you'd have to compare them, but how can you? they're striving for two completely different things. The Oscars are biased and care more about their reputation, than anything else. (Btw, I think both films had the merit for winning for what they achieved in their genres.) The Oscars have never been fond of science-fiction. That's a fact. There is no fact in art, only opinion. Kind of sad to put ALL people that didn't like one of Woody Allen's Masterpieces for having low attention span. What does that make you?

One of the best comedies ever. Great script
I don't understand how people could say it was boring, the trailer even has a certain charm and humor about it that just makes it magnetic
