In my current playthrough the knight in Liurnia that drops the prayer book dropped the royal knight armor immediately. It was sick.
That's super lucky! That was my first instinct for farming, then I realized the horse one would actually be easier, since it doesn't have the shield up while on horse back
They were like "finally, a worthy successor! Take these, and wander aimlessly in my stead"

the thing with the spell debate is that it is essentially pointless. for some people using spells is easier, for others using melee options is easier and that depends entirely on how the person approaches each fight and what their personal preferences are. we should just appreciate that we have multiple options and let the topic rest already

The Lordsworn's Greatsword actually slaps. When I'm just trying to get through the beginning of the game quick it's my go to.

There's a handful of features that I wish were in Elden Ring.
One of them is being able to reduce aggro range by wearing relevant armor. Godrick soldiers not attacking immediately if you're wearing Godrick armor, for example.

I’ve always been a proponent for the Lordsworn Greatsword; it’s got pressure, it’s got reach, it’s got crits, and you can switch its Ash of War. Glad to see it getting some love.

My main weapon for my first playthrough, except when I learned how busted the blasphemous blade was against Malenia. I used the Storm blade ash of war for its range and the surprising stance damage.
The only Gelmir knight (ghost) we see talks about how he left the serpent hunter where it is, logically, we must assume that the serpent hunter was his personal weapon for a time.

He addressed it man, patrons vote no. Probably because it was a memorable starting class in the beta, and therefore isn’t really a *secret* starting class. Same goes for the Bloody Wolf. Also Tuloks not a shield guy, which is the most unique part of the kit, it’d end up mostly being stuff we’d seen before.

Here's a fun little headache: Soldier of Godrick uses Charge Forth, even though that skill cannot be infused onto a Greatsword, marking a second unique "generic" weapon in the hands of an enemy besides Millicents Waterfowl Dance Shamshir.

Lion's claw just hits different
Super long video, but it was pretty entertaining, and the builds were different enough to not be repetitive. A couple of thing Tulok didn't mention about Lion's Claw is that you get extreme super armour during the entire animation, which means it's almost impossible to be knocked out of it, and the flip completely changes your hitboxes during the move, meaning you can avoid attacks while using it.
It's just a phenomenal AoW.

You should do a gladiator run/Retiarius run, with the full duelist armor set, buckler and either a spear, or a small dagger. Bloodhound step, parry etc. That would be pretty Rad.
I did the same run and had an absolute blast. Made me really appreciate square off.

@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 To be fair, generally speaking it was one mouse blessed by the ghost of the defender of Redwall Abbey throughout time... The mice never struck first and one was chosen by said ghost to rise up as everyone's defender.
The villains were portrayed as well... Villains. Predatory animals like cats, snakes, and wolves - all of which had their rat and ferret henchmen lol. THEY were the violent ones.
Now to be fair I've been an avid reader all my life... I STARTED those books in 1st grade and had them finished by 3rd, with the biggest chunk of them read in 2nd. But it had a profound effect on my early life. The good guys were just normal people, living their lives and doing their best not to hurt anyone. When threatened, most of them were powerless or not violent in the least. One person ended up becoming a warrior in defense of the others. And when they did, it was revealed that they were a natural at it.
Some people are hard wired by nature with the desire to protect the people around them, and that's OKAY. It's not for everyone, and more often than not they aren't needed that often (or at least in the daily life of normal people in America). But when they are... I'm one of the ones that will be willing to step up to the plate.

Another spell that's fantastic on the partizan, that raya lucarian knights use: Glintsone pebble. You've got a point, spears are pretty good catalysts...
I thought Pebble was only good on the Glintstone kris, is it good on other weapons as well?
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 You still get the charge move, i used it on a curved sword to get a bit of forward mobility, and it's a nice bit of stance... maintenance, i guess, if a boss is being a dick and not letting you get close. Damage is *Chunky.* the bullet's smaller than it is on the kris though, admittedly.
Which i guess also makes the kris a good example of that thing you were talking about with the Miquellan knight straight sword, giving a buffed unique version of an ash-o-war to a specific weapon.
I did a Soldier of God, Rick run before. I am not joking when I say that it is by far my strongest build in the game.

@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 I have no clue, but the scaling probably makes it insane. I used Lion’s Claw ash of war for the Lordsworn’s Greatsword and made it heavy. After that, I basically just put all points into strength until I reached 60. That made that one sword into a nuclear bomb on a stick.
I answer to your question on the Godskin Duo in the first run, there is a line you can unlock in BG3 where a Drell explains that a “grouping” of 5 or more people classifies it as an orgy, so by that logic it’s the Godskin Orgy

I actually did a soldier run every stat ( excluding Health , stamina and mind ) are at 20 you can use anything you want to boost them but they can't go higher and you can only use other soldier summons and yeah it's as fun and challenging as it sounds
