playing starfield with its complete lack of meaningful exploration made me miss and go back to elite after years of not playing. It's sad to see how little the story has seemingly progressed, but it is cool still learning about 3rd party sites and tools i hadn't heard of before and finding out there's still dozens, if not hundreds of things out in the galaxy i've never seen before even after years of playing. Elite really is the only game i've ever played that feels like it offers any semblance of actual exploration (and feels like there's actual risk to it too). It's great seeing you get back into it too and producing videos on it again.
That is NOT what happened to the commanders of the Gnosis. The Gnosis fired on and destroyed the commanders attempting to defend the ship because it was considered a "No Fire Zone" then the Thargoids disabled the ship.

Always check the thorax markings and the shape of the fourth joint on each hind leg before you jump to conclusions. ;)
