Gunslinger Spawn is a great character & we’re due for a western resurgence so I believe in this character for sure! Been buying original art from the series.

The best advice I have ever heard you give, and you often give good advice by the books that you like. I very much agree with that the idea that people wanna buy everything they can get just to have a book is foolish buying what you want clearly makes the most sense.

Thanks for mentioning there are so many silver age books out there to look for deals on. Modern books seem to be in the spotlight a lot, but there are so many not-so-often-seen options to be on the look out for.

Great to see FF annual #2 on the list. I “accidentally” picked up a CGC 8.0 this year. Put a bid on it that I didn’t think would actually win, but it did! I love Doom covers. West Coast Avengers 35 my personal favorite.

Like so many other young people, at the time that Spawn #1 came out, I too thought that the book would turn to gold. 5 years later I came to my senses and realized that I was being foolish. Still... I had a fondness for the title and continued to collect the book, even when everyone else was jumping ship. It was at the point that the book shifted main characters that I started to waver. I really tried to give this new direction a chance. I just couldn't stay and I had to jump off as well. Decades later I found out about GunSlinger Spawn exploding in popularity and ran to my boxes to find that I was lucky enough to have purchased it. I asked my LCS dude and he told me that he had been ordering only 2 copies of the book at the time and I was 1 of those 2 people picking up the book. So, if other LCS were doing similar, that is a good explanation as to how the print run was so low.
I can not imagine issue #1 even coming close to that.

That spawn 174 has a print error on the left side, spelled 'spanw.' nobody mentions this.

Don't have the #1s marvel as imo went to buy a little late but still like the hunt and digging.

If I could afford to do it I'd go buying up all of the 7.5 and up non-key Silver Age books I could grab. As the years roll by those major grails--hard for most people to afford now--are just going to be unattainable but that era will always be sought after. Early Bronze, too. Good god, prices are so freaking good right now and I just keep having to pass. I'm really interested in what you buy and hold. I'll bet you have 100 copies of Web of Spider-Man #100. You do, don't you?
Can't gobwrong with xmen 1. Next on my list for sure.

Not a fan of most of those books wouldn't go out of my way on them. The X-Men 1 is a dream book for me why I've been doing your mystery boxes to have a small chance at it. I wouldn't spend that amount of money on it personally. If I won it i likely wouldn't sell it even if i was supposed to. The Main Xmen run is what I collect .
BTW when are you mailing out the mystery box? guessing now its a new year thing?

I'm from Europe and will be 5 weeks in the area in may/june 2024. I'm subscribed to the Comic Den YT channe but they're from Orlando and i don't drive car....
Its funny you think the average joe can aquire any of these. Not only are they on lockdown by collectors already but this stuff is from the 90's so your like 20 years to late bub. Maybe if you're friends with a comic book store owner you could buy one of there many many bogarted items they conveniently forgot to put on store floor and somehow made it in there collection.
You do not believe spec is dead? People getting smarter and there is less compulsive buying. Movies are just not good enough.
