    A lot of people are looking for ways to disable the Daytime Running Lights. A standard procedure for many drivers is immediately after starting the vehicle they rotate the light switch counterclockwise to put the lights in manual mode. A device to automate this would be terrific.

    The reason I turn my auto stop off is due to the fact, the engine gets hotter when it shuts down. It can climb another 50, 60, or 70 degrees when turned off. I’d rather have the water flowing thru the engine and keeping it cool as much as I can. I had an older truck that ran at 180 degrees normally, but when turned off it would reach 240 degrees before cooling back down. As far as I know, heat equals pressure, and pressure equals strain on gaskets and hoses. Plus, replacing the starter will suck one day.

      In the United States, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act offers consumer protection that prevents a manufacturer from denying a warranty claim simply due to the existence of an aftermarket component. The burden of proof is on the manufacturer to prove that the aftermarket component caused the failure.

    Dude, unless you are charging your "Electric Truck" via an attached solar panel or wind power generator, you are playing pretend. The power grid is still getting power to your "EV" via some kind of power plant (coal, nuclear) probably not solar cause there is not enough room for that on this planet. Also not to mention, the graveyards for EV batteries and the kids in foreign countries who have to dig up the materials to make those batteries. I like most your videos, but this one started off terrible.

    Absolutely hate this autostop feature, It does nothing but ruins my truck. If I stop at a stop sign and then have to go to merge, it'll turn off my truck, then I hit the gas right away and it starts and tries to go and is NOT SMOOTH! This is such a trash feature, it should of always been OFF by default and ON when you click it on. And it should have a memory built in to remember where you clicked it. The whole "earth will die" is non-sense! They need to take care of all the airplanes first before trying to get to cars, ridiculous.

    Had mine installed in 20 minutes, but I don't have a full center console. It was basically removing the two lower trim pieces, and the center stack. The 7mm bolt was the hardest part....it turned forever until I just got my drill out and powered it out. Sucks if you have a full center console though. It has worked flawlessly for about two months now!!! I've never turned it back on. For those considering....you never have to worry about forgetting to hit the switch and cursing at a stop light when the engine stops! I bought a truck for a V8...I want it to run. Not have my passenger ask me if my truck just stalled out. Or have to wait for it chug back to a start. Every time it chugged back on I felt like I was driving an old jalopy.

    The emissions produced by idling at a stop sign or light is a fraction of what's emitted when autostop causes a failure requiring replacement parts. The only time autostop makes sense is if you're driving in extremely dense stop and go traffic where you're stationary for minutes at a time.

    • @megaangelic
      @megaangelic 2 года назад +1

      No it doesn't. That's a myth from a decade ago. Cars with autostop have specifically designed autostop starters that will not wear out from being used as intended. There's literally no reason not to use it, unless it's a super hot or cold day, and in those cases it usually turns itself off anyway. Though it's weird this car doesn't have a setting to disable it by default. Virtually all cars have a function in the settings. But, cheap American crap I guess.

      @@TruckOwnership101 and it won't hold a charge for more than 250 miles tops. Where do you charge it once you get to your CAMPING destination? I don't know too many campsites that have charging stations. Good luck with that. PS you're still burning fossil fuels to create the electricity to charge the battery, but that transfer is actually more wasteful and inefficient than a direct internal combustion engine vehicle.
      Electric vehicles are impractical over long distances especially utility ones designed for hauling and trailering. Plus the lithium batteries are super toxic and last 8-10 years tops. Lithium takes thousands of years to break down in a landfill.

I haven’t used that yet, but I will shortly when I have the opportunity. So I cannot comment on that honesty. But my truck has been unplugged over a month. No warning lights or issues. The truck is fine. He also said it doesn’t effect the warranty. But the plug is small and right next to the battery. Auto Stop is ridiculous. As you hinted, the worse thing for your vehicle is when you start it cold. The second worse is when you start it warm. Anytime you stop the engine, the oil drains into the oil pan. So when you restart the engine, once more the engine is briefly oil starved! If they had an oil pressure accumulator system, they could still pump oil through the stopped engine. But there's no such thing in these.

    Dislike for 2 reasons. 1. This is an ad for a product. 2. I didn't come to this video for you. I don't care at all about you. I don't care about where you live or that you like tech. GET TO THE POINT! Bonus: your intro music is a waste of my time.

    If you go to Range Technology. Com you can buy a plug n play that will keep your truck in 8 cly and delete the auto/stop at the same time for $200 had one on my 17 Denali, and getting my new one for my 20 AT4 tomorrow they work great 👍

    • @stevepouliot6906
      @stevepouliot6906 3 года назад

      @@DKLabs99 i did receive it it seems to be working fine the reason why I say it seems to be working is because the newer trucks with DFM not AFM don't tell you in the dash display if your in V4 or V8 cause DFM engines are designed to run from 2 to 8 cylinders but it was disabling the auto start/stop i called Range technology directly and the tech told me if the lights are on and its working for the auto start/stop then most likely its keeping it in 8 cylinders, but on a side note I just ordered the pulsar lt look into that on the Range Technology web site I think you might like that better im getting mine in about a week

      The Autostop function? Or the Eliminator? I'm more concerned about the autostop ruining my turbo... I thought you weren't supposed to shut off your truck's engine until the turbo had a chance to cool down, is that still a thing?

    That is really slick! However if you use L (not D) the autostop does not "run". The only "not nice" part is you need to click up 9 times to get into L10. But the truck won't shut off when you stop.

    No one cares about pos EV's or mileage. The epa keeps forcing this mileage bs. More crap they keep putting the less reliable they become. EV's will never increase mileage either. Thats a joke moving a 5,000 lb vehicle at 70mph while having the heat and radio on. Good vid though.
