Dude has some of the nicest teeth I've ever seen. My 2 cent positive input. Yes, he's trying to help , very thankful for him unfortunately folks are impatient, it's all about them you know lol
The reason I turn my auto stop off is due to the fact, the engine gets hotter when it shuts down. It can climb another 50, 60, or 70 degrees when turned off. I’d rather have the water flowing thru the engine and keeping it cool as much as I can. I had an older truck that ran at 180 degrees normally, but when turned off it would reach 240 degrees before cooling back down. As far as I know, heat equals pressure, and pressure equals strain on gaskets and hoses. Plus, replacing the starter will suck one day.
Would love to install one in my new Silverado, but my worry is that if I have an electrical problem somewhere in the truck, my warranty claim would be denied. I have NO doubt that this device is harmless, but I can see GM using it as an excuse to not fix my truck

No it doesn't. That's a myth from a decade ago. Cars with autostop have specifically designed autostop starters that will not wear out from being used as intended. There's literally no reason not to use it, unless it's a super hot or cold day, and in those cases it usually turns itself off anyway. Simply next to the battery, unplug it. A Ford worker showed me, where it was. He said it doesn’t hurt anything, also it let’s you do something with the navigation while you are driving. I haven’t used that yet, but I will shortly when I have the opportunity. So I cannot comment on that honesty. But my truck has been unplugged over a month. No warning lights or issues. The truck is fine. He also said it doesn’t effect the warranty. But the plug is small and right next to the battery. Auto Stop is ridiculous. As you hinted, the worse thing for your vehicle is when you start it cold. The second worse is when you start it warm. Anytime you stop the engine, the oil drains into the oil pan. So when you restart the engine, once more the engine is briefly oil starved! If they had an oil pressure accumulator system, they could still pump oil through the stopped engine. But there's no such thing in these.

you can always put a cut trailer plug into the back which makes it think its pulling a trailer and shut off the auto start/stop. or in case of a ford - shut off the system via software.

@@DKLabs99 i did receive it it seems to be working fine the reason why I say it seems to be working is because the newer trucks with DFM not AFM don't tell you in the dash display if your in V4 or V8 cause DFM engines are designed to run from 2 to 8 cylinders but it was disabling the auto start/stop i called Range technology directly and the tech told me if the lights are on and its working for the auto start/stop then most likely its keeping it in 8 cylinders, but on a side note I just ordered the pulsar lt look into that on the Range Technology web site I think you might like that better im getting mine in about a week
The Autostop function? Or the Eliminator? I'm more concerned about the autostop ruining my turbo... I thought you weren't supposed to shut off your truck's engine until the turbo had a chance to cool down, is that still a thing?
I am sold, but is there any options to install a front facing camera? For the life of me, I can’t believe they wouldn’t offer this on the off-road purpose Trail Boss!! Any suggestions?
That is really slick! However if you use L (not D) the autostop does not "run". The only "not nice" part is you need to click up 9 times to get into L10. But the truck won't shut off when you stop.

Sadly it’s not fixing emissions it’s making them worse you burn more fuel on restart and electric trucks have a long way off especially for towing. It will trash your starter quicker 😎

Don’t beat yourself up over the climate change according to what they said 20 years ago none of us should even be here right now so believe what you want to we don’t lose sleep at night worrying about it because they’ll just move the goal post
You live in Minnesota and you are “ looking forward to getting an electric truck”? Yeah good luck with that😂
We don’t want to know what you do or what you’re going to do with a electric vehicle that’s going to be on the side of the road when it quits just get to the subject 🤓
No matter what the gas is getting burned. Whether idling at a light or wide open throttle. Turning the car off will save you gas but Im not sure about your cleaner environment virtue signaling. Its cute. But illogical.
he's from Minnesota, complains about his truck being gas guzzling but still buys a 5.3liter V8 and then disables a feature which supposedly saves fuel and the environment. He seems conflicted? lol. Go buy a prius, lol.
Hmmm. Spend $99 or just simply press a button before I leave.
I not going to defend this stupid switch for anything. I think it uses more gas than just running
You will be so sorry you got an electric truck...I did. and its a piece of shit
you can always put a cut trailer plug into the back which makes it think its pulling a trailer and shut off the auto start/stop. or in case of a ford - shut off the system via software.
problem with that is you lose your back up sensors, but there's always the back up camera.
I will never buy a car/truck with that nonsense (auto stop). Ever, ever, ever.
Don't like the autostop. This shortens the lifespan of your starter.
Dislike for 2 reasons. 1. This is an ad for a product. 2. I didn't come to this video for you. I don't care at all about you. I don't care about where you live or that you like tech. GET TO THE POINT! Bonus: your intro music is a waste of my time.
All I see here is engagement for the RUclips metrics. Thanks for the support! ❤️
If you go to Range Technology. Com you can buy a plug n play that will keep your truck in 8 cly and delete the auto/stop at the same time for $200 had one on my 17 Denali, and getting my new one for my 20 AT4 tomorrow they work great 👍
Ever get this? Curious how it’s been working
@@stevepouliot6906 thanks for the info
Steve,
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for the info!
No problem!
#metoo
They need a way to do away with that stupid switch AND the 4cylinder mode.
It shortens your starter life!
The Autostop function? Or the Eliminator? I'm more concerned about the autostop ruining my turbo... I thought you weren't supposed to shut off your truck's engine until the turbo had a chance to cool down, is that still a thing?
Great Video!!!! Thanks for the clip and a nice "How To" on the autostop eliminator. I plan on doing this to mine later on as it does get annoying.
I am sold, but is there any options to install a front facing camera? For the life of me, I can’t believe they wouldn’t offer this on the off-road purpose Trail Boss!! Any suggestions?
Mine disabled in my Sierra idk why any help? Thanks in advance
Did mine today went without a hitch. Video was helpful.
Democrats are terrible for the environment. Not our trucks.
Be nice if we could cut out your life story at the beginning
That is really slick! However if you use L (not D) the autostop does not "run". The only "not nice" part is you need to click up 9 times to get into L10. But the truck won't shut off when you stop.
You will be a fan of it if fuel prices keep going up.
gave up on this video after the first 3 mins of just BS
What’s the big deal about turning the button on or off ?
I have a 2020 Ford F-150 XLT and the button for that is on the dash, don’t get me wrong I’m a GM guy but got such a good deal had all the features I wanted I couldn’t pass it up, but I promise guys the next one will be a GM truck!
Too much talking at beginning
My friend you’re scratching the crap outta you’re plastics! 👎🏼
and bending them. They will never sit flat in place the same after that.
Is it Z71? I couldn't see a badge.
Actually they do trash the battery!!!!!
Spend another $100 and get the Range. Will also disable the DFM.
Another good option. But autostop was the only thing that bothered me. So I elected to keep the $100, fuel economy, and the open port for my check engine light scanner.
What’s the dfm
No one cares about pos EV's or mileage. The epa keeps forcing this mileage bs. More crap they keep putting the less reliable they become. EV's will never increase mileage either. Thats a joke moving a 5,000 lb vehicle at 70mph while having the heat and radio on. Good vid though.
Dam why can’t anyone just get to it rather than all the unnecessary bla bla bla
Learn how to use chapters dude. I literally titled it to “get to the point.” Lol
It's gonna trash you're starter!
Are they available for the new 2022 silverado refresh?
Another Great video! New subscriber 👍🏼
Sadly it’s not fixing emissions it’s making them worse you burn more fuel on restart and electric trucks have a long way off especially for towing. It will trash your starter quicker 😎
_GM should've introduced a powerful v6 for the Tahoe/Yukon/burban/silverado/sierra etc with this feature if they were aiming for fuel efficiency not for a v8..._
Why don’t you just disassemble the whole truck. Pushing the button when you get in the truck seems a whole lot easier.
Will keep driving and working on my 97 k2500. The laughs don't bother me.. Lets see if this new garbage lasts 24 years.
I was gonna do it till I saw your buddies video, too much work and your video, I thought the switches pops out, and bang your done, not to remove all that, too much work, ill pass
Also do you know anything about the radio on the 2021 if I'm driving it I turn off the radio but when I turn the truck off and restart it the radio comes back on every single time
I own a 2019 silverado rst. If you hold the power button down on the radio for a couple seconds it turns the whole head unit off but once you turn your truck back on the radio is off and the head unit turns on.
@@justinkaczynski4120 I will try it TK you
You must be from California
Too long winded waste of time
Too much of a hassle. Why did you put a Z71 badge on your glove box ?
