At the time Germany was in shambles from the WWI, people would carry baskets full of money which had little to no value. Hitler used that in his advantage to gain power, to unite the folk again against the same enemy, to manipulate everyone into thinking that one group of people are responsible for the demise of post WWI Germany. Just listen to his speeches, he really knew how to talk everyone into following him, like a shepherd leading his cattle

Germany is one of the most powerful nations in Europe still to this day, they are rich of oil money and trade. They do still have one of the most powerful militaries in all of Eastern Europe. Just because they are not causing a mass genocide or adapted to fascism does not make Germany any less powerful.
